| 소개 | 사람은 변하기 쉽고 어리석고 악을 행하기에 빠름 - 주께서 자기 백성을 징계하심 - 사람의 보잘 것 없음이 하나님의 권능과 비교됨 - 심판의 날에, 사람은 영원한 생명 혹은 영원한 저주를 얻게 될 것임. 주전 6년경. | Men are unstable and foolish and quick to do evil—The Lord chastens his people—The nothingness of men compared with the power of God—In the day of judgment men shall gain everlasting life or everlasting damnation. [About 7 B.C.] |
| 힐 12:1 | 이리하여 우리는 사람의 자녀들의 마음이 얼마나 거짓된지와 또한 그 변하기 쉬움을 볼 수 있나니, 참으로 우리는 주께서 그 크고도 한량없는 선하심 가운데 무릇 자기를 신뢰하는 자들에게 복을 내리시고 번영하게 하신다는 것을 알 수 있느니라. | And thus we can behold how false, and also the unsteadiness of the hearts of the children of men; yea, we can see that the Lord in his great infinite goodness doth bless and prosper those who put their trust in him. |
| 힐 12:2 | 참으로, 또한 우리는 주께서 자기 백성을 번영하게 하사, 실로 그들의 밭, 그들의 양 떼와 그들의 소 떼와, 금과 은과 각양각색의 온갖 귀한 것들을 얻게 하시며 그들의 생명을 살려 두시며, 그들을 그들의 원수의 손에서 건지시며 그들의 원수들의 마음을 부드럽게 하사 그들을 대적하여 전쟁을 선포하지 않게 하시며, 참으로 또한 요컨대, 자기 백성의 복리와 행복을 위하여 모든 일을 행하시는 바로 그때에, 참으로 그때가 곧, 그들이 그들의 마음을 완악하게 하며, 주 그들의 하나님을 잊으며, 거룩하신 이를 그들의 발 아래 밟는 때 임을 우리가 알 수 있나니 - 실로 이는 그들의 편안함과 그들의 심히 큰 번영 까닭이라. | Yea, and we may see at the very time when he doth prosper his people, yea, in the increase of their fields, their flocks and their herds, and in gold, and in silver, and in all manner of precious things of every kind and art; sparing their lives, and delivering them out of the hands of their enemies; softening the hearts of their enemies that they should not declare wars against them; yea, and in fine, doing all things for the welfare and happiness of his people; yea, then is the time that they do harden their hearts, and do forget the Lord their God, and do trample under their feet the Holy One-yea, and this because of their ease, and their exceedingly great prosperity. |
| 힐 12:3 | 이러므로 주께서 많은 고난으로 자기 백성을 징계하지 아니하시면, 참으로 그가 사망과 공포와, 기근과 온갖 역병으로 그들을 징벌하지 아니하시면, 그들이 그를 기억하지 아니할 줄 우리가 알게 되리라. | And thus we see that except the Lord doth chasten his people with many afflictions, yea, except he doth visit them with death and with terror, and with famine and with all manner of pestilence, they will not remember him. |
| 힐 12:4 | 오 사람의 자녀들이 어찌 그리 어리석으며, 어찌 그리 허황되며, 어찌 그리 악하고, 악마적이며, 어찌 그리 죄악 행하기는 속히 하며, 어찌 그리 선행하기는 더디 하는고! 참으로 저 악한 자의 말에 귀 기울이며, 그 마음을 세상의 헛된 것들에 두기는 어찌 그리 속히 하는고! | O how foolish, and how vain, and how evil, and devilish, and how quick to do iniquity, and how slow to do good, are the children of men; yea, how quick to hearken unto the words of the evil one, and to set their hearts upon the vain things of the world! |
| 힐 12:5 | 참으로 어찌 그리 교만 중에 자고하기를 속히 하며, 참으로 어찌 그리 뽐내면서 온갖 불의한 바 행하기는 속히 하며, 주 그들의 하나님을 기억하며, 그 권고에 귀를 기울이기는 그들이 어찌 그리 더디 하며, 참으로 지혜의 길로 행하기는 어찌 그리 더디 하는고! | Yea, how quick to be lifted up in pride; yea, how quick to boast, and do all manner of that which is iniquity; and how slow are they to remember the Lord their God, and to give ear unto his counsels, yea, how slow to walk in wisdom's paths! |
| 힐 12:6 | 보라, 그들은 그들을 창조하신 주 그들의 하나님이 그들을 통치하고 다스리심을 바라지 아니하며, 그들을 향한 그의 크신 선하심과 그의 자비하심에도 불구하고, 그의 권고를 무시하며 그가 그들의 인도자 되심을 원하지 아니하는도다. | Behold, they do not desire that the Lord their God, who hath created them, should rule and reign over them; notwithstanding his great goodness and his mercy towards them, they do set at naught his counsels, and they will not that he should be their guide. |
| 힐 12:7 | 오 사람의 자녀들의 보잘 것 없음이 어찌 그리 큰고, 참으로 그들은 땅의 티끌만도 못하도다. | O how great is the nothingness of the children of men; yea, even they are less than the dust of the earth. |
| 힐 12:8 | 이는 보라, 땅의 티끌은 우리의 크고도 영원하신 하나님의 명령에 이리저리 움직여, 갈라지기까지 함이니라. | For behold, the dust of the earth moveth hither and thither, to the dividing asunder, at the command of our great and everlasting God. |
| 힐 12:9 | 참으로 보라, 그의 음성에 언덕들과 산들이 떨고 진동하도다. | Yea, behold at his voice do the hills and the mountains tremble and quake. |
| 힐 12:10 | 또 그의 음성의 권능으로 그것들이 깨어져 참으로 골짜기처럼 편편해지느니라. | And by the power of his voice they are broken up, and become smooth, yea, even like unto a valley. |
| 힐 12:11 | 참으로 그의 음성의 권능으로 온 땅이 진동하며, | Yea, by the power of his voice doth the whole earth shake; |
| 힐 12:12 | 참으로 그의 음성의 권능으로 기초가 흔들리되 바로 그 중심까지도 흔들리는도다. | Yea, by the power of his voice, do the foundations rock, even to the very center. |
| 힐 12:13 | 참으로 또 만일 그가 땅더러 이르시기를 - 움직이라 - 하시면 그것은 움직이는도다. | Yea, and if he say unto the earth-Move-it is moved. |
| 힐 12:14 | 참으로 만일 그가 땅더러 이르시기를 - 너는 되돌아가 낮으로 여러 시간 더 길어지게 하라 - 하시면 그대로 이루어지느니라. | Yea, if he say unto the earth-Thou shalt go back, that it lengthen out the day for many hours-it is done; |
| 힐 12:15 | 이리하여 그의 말씀대로 땅이 되돌아가매, 사람에게는 태양이 가만히 서 있는 듯 보이나니, 과연 그러하니라. 또 보라, 이것이 그러하니 이는 정녕 움직이는 것이 땅이요 태양이 아님이라. | And thus, according to his word the earth goeth back, and it appeareth unto man that the sun standeth still; yea, and behold, this is so; for surely it is the earth that moveth and not the sun. |
| 힐 12:16 | 또 보라, 또한 그가 만일 큰 깊음의 물들에게 이르시기를 - 너는 마르라 하시면 그대로 이루어지느니라. | And behold, also, if he say unto the waters of the great deep-Be thou dried up-it is done. |
| 힐 12:17 | 보라, 만일 그가 이 산더러 이르시기를 - 너는 들리워, 이리 와서 저 성읍 위에 떨어져 그것으로 묻히게 하라 - 하시면, 보라 그대로 이루어지느니라. | Behold, if he say unto this mountain-Be thou raised up, and come over and fall upon that city, that it be buried up-behold it is done. |
| 힐 12:18 | 또 보라, 만일 어떤 사람이 보물을 땅에 감추는데, 주께서 이르시기를 - 이를 감춘 자의 죄악으로 인하여 그것이 저주를 받을 지니라 - 하실 것 같으면, 보라, 그것이 저주를 받을 것이라. | And behold, if a man hide up a treasure in the earth, and the Lord shall say-Let it be accursed, because of the iniquity of him who hath hid it up-behold, it shall be accursed. |
| 힐 12:19 | 만일 주께서 말씀하기를 - 네가 저주를 받아 이때로부터 영원토록 아무도 너를 발견하지 못하리라 - 하실 것 같으면, 보라, 아무도 이후로 영원토록 그것을 얻지 못하리라. | And if the Lord shall say-Be thou accursed, that no man shall find thee from this time henceforth and forever-behold, no man getteth it henceforth and forever. |
| 힐 12:20 | 또 보라, 만일 주께서 어떤 사람에게 이르시기를 - 네 죄악으로 인하여 네가 영원히 저주받을 지니라 - 하실 것 같으면, 그대로 이루어질 것이니라. | And behold, if the Lord shall say unto a man-Because of thine iniquities, thou shalt be accursed forever-it shall be done. |
| 힐 12:21 | 또 만일 주께서 말씀하시기를 - 네 죄악으로 인하여 네가 나의 면전에서 끊어지리라 - 하실 것 같으면, 곧 그리되게 하시리라. | And if the Lord shall say-Because of thine iniquities thou shalt be cut off from my presence-he will cause that it shall be so. |
| 힐 12:22 | 이에 그가 이 말씀을 하실 자에게 화 있도다. 이는 죄악을 행하는 자에게 그가 이 말씀을 하실 것인즉, 저가 구원받을 수 없음이라. 그러므로 이 까닭에, 사람이 구원을 얻을 수 있도록 회개가 선포되었느니라. | And wo unto him to whom he shall say this, for it shall be unto him that will do iniquity, and he cannot be saved; therefore, for this cause, that men might be saved, hath repentance been declared. |
| 힐 12:23 | 그러므로 회개하여 주 그들의 하나님의 음성에 귀 기울일 자들은 복이 있나니, 이는 그들이 구원을 얻을 자들임이라. | Therefore, blessed are they who will repent and hearken unto the voice of the Lord their God; for these are they that shall be saved. |
| 힐 12:24 | 그러므로 하나님께서 그 큰 충만하심 가운데, 사람들로 회개와 선한 행위에 이르게 하시고, 그리하여 그들이 회복되어 자기의 행위대로 은혜로 말미암아 은혜에 이르게 하시기를 원하노라. | And may God grant, in his great fulness, that men might be brought unto repentance and good works, that they might be restored unto grace for grace, according to their works. |
| 힐 12:25 | 또 나는 모든 사람이 구원받기를 원하노라. 그러나 우리가 읽기로 저 큰 마지막 날에 쫓겨날 자들이 있다 하였으니, 과연 그들이 주의 면전에서 버림을 받을 것이라. | And I would that all men might be saved. But we read that in the great and last day there are some who shall be cast out, yea, who shall be cast off from the presence of the Lord; |
| 힐 12:26 | 참으로 그들은 끝없이 비참한 상태에 처하여, 선을 행한 자는 영생을 얻을 것이요, 악을 행한 자는 영원한 저주를 받으리라 하는 말씀을 이루리라. 참으로 그러하도다. 아멘. | Yea, who shall be consigned to a state of endless misery, fulfilling the words which say: They that have done good shall have everlasting life; and they that have done evil shall have everlasting damnation. And thus it is. Amen. |
