소개	모르드개가 영광을 입어 하만의 집을 주관하게됨. 아하수에로 왕이 유대인을 멸하도록 한 조서를 변경함.	Mordecai honored and placed over the house of Haman—Ahasuerus reverses the decree calling for the destruction of the Jews.
에 8:1	그 날 아하수에로 왕이 유다인의 대적 하만의 집을 왕후 에스더에게 주니라 에스더가 모르드개는 자기에게 어떻게 관계됨을 왕께 아뢰었으므로 모르드개가 왕 앞에 나오니	On that day did the king Ahasuerus give the house of Haman the Jews’ enemy unto Esther the queen. And Mordecai came before the king; for Esther had told what he was unto her.
에 8:2	왕이 하만에게서 거둔 반지를 빼어 모르드개에게 준지라 에스더가 모르드개에게 하만의 집을 관리하게 하니라	And the king took off his ring, which he had taken from Haman, and gave it unto Mordecai. And Esther set Mordecai over the house of Haman.
에 8:3	에스더가 다시 왕 앞에서 말씀하며 왕의 발 아래 엎드려 아각 사람 하만이 유다인을 해하려 한 악한 꾀를 제거하기를 울며 구하니	And Esther spake yet again before the king, and fell down at his feet, and besought him with tears to put away the mischief of Haman the Agagite, and his device that he had devised against the Jews.
에 8:4	왕이 에스더를 향하여 금 규를 내미는지라 에스더가 일어나 왕 앞에 서서	Then the king held out the golden sceptre toward Esther. So Esther arose, and stood before the king.
에 8:5	이르되 왕이 만일 즐거워하시며 내가 왕의 목전에 은혜를 입었고 또 왕이 이 일을 좋게 여기시며 나를 좋게 보실진대 조서를 내리사 아각 사람 함므다다의 아들 하만이 왕의 각 지방에 있는 유다인을 진멸하려고 꾀하고 쓴 조서를 철회하소서	And said, If it please the king, and if I have found favour in his sight, and the thing seem right before the king, and I be pleasing in his eyes, let it be written to reverse the letters devised by Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, which he wrote to destroy the Jews which are in all the king’s provinces:
에 8:6	내가 어찌 내 민족이 화 당함을 차마 보며 내 친척의 멸망함을 차마 보리이까 하니	For how can I endure to see the evil that shall come unto my people? or how can I endure to see the destruction of my kindred?
에 8:7	아하수에로 왕이 왕후 에스더와 유다인 모르드개에게 이르되 하만이 유다인을 살해하려 하므로 나무에 매달렸고 내가 그 집을 에스더에게 주었으니	Then the king Ahasuerus said unto Esther the queen and to Mordecai the Jew, Behold, I have given Esther the house of Haman, and him they have hanged upon the gallows, because he laid his hand upon the Jews.
에 8:8	너희는 왕의 명의로 유다인에게 조서를 뜻대로 쓰고 왕의 반지로 인을 칠지어다 왕의 이름을 쓰고 왕의 반지로 인친 조서는 누구든지 철회할 수 없음이니라 하니라	Write ye also for the Jews, as it liketh you, in the king’s name, and seal it with the king’s ring: for the writing which is written in the king’s name, and sealed with the king’s ring, may no man reverse.
에 8:9	그 때 시완월 곧 삼월 이십삼일에 왕의 서기관이 소집되고 모르드개가 시키는 대로 조서를 써서 인도로부터 구스까지의 백이십칠 지방 유다인과 대신과 지방관과 관원에게 전할새 각 지방의 문자와 각 민족의 언어와 유다인의 문자와 언어로 쓰되	Then were the king’s scribes called at that time in the third month, that is, the month Sivan, on the three and twentieth day thereof; and it was written according to all that Mordecai commanded unto the Jews, and to the lieutenants, and the deputies and rulers of the provinces which are from India unto Ethiopia, an hundred twenty and seven provinces, unto every province according to the writing thereof, and unto every people after their language, and to the Jews according to their writing, and according to their language.
에 8:10	아하수에로 왕의 명의로 쓰고 왕의 반지로 인을 치고 그 조서를 역졸들에게 부쳐 전하게 하니 그들은 왕궁에서 길러서 왕의 일에 쓰는 준마를 타는 자들이라	And he wrote in the king Ahasuerus’ name, and sealed it with the king’s ring, and sent letters by posts on horseback, and riders on mules, camels, and young dromedaries:
에 8:11	조서에는 왕이 여러 고을에 있는 유다인에게 허락하여 그들이 함께 모여 스스로 생명을 보호하여 각 지방의 백성 중 세력을 가지고 그들을 치려하는 자들과 그들의 처자를 죽이고 도륙하고 진멸하고 그 재산을 탈취하게 하되	Wherein the king granted the Jews which were in every city to gather themselves together, and to stand for their life, to destroy, to slay, and to cause to perish, all the power of the people and province that would assault them, both little ones and women, and to take the spoil of them for a prey,
에 8:12	아하수에로 왕의 각 지방에서 아달월 곧 십이월 십삼일 하루 동안에 하게 하였고	Upon one day in all the provinces of king Ahasuerus, namely, upon the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar.
에 8:13	이 조서 초본을 각 지방에 전하고 각 민족에게 반포하고 유다인들에게 준비하였다가 그 날에 대적에게 원수를 갚게 한지라	The copy of the writing for a commandment to be given in every province was published unto all people, and that the Jews should be ready against that day to avenge themselves on their enemies.
에 8:14	왕의 어명이 매우 급하매 역졸이 왕의 일에 쓰는 준마를 타고 빨리 나가고 그 조서가 도성 수산에도 반포되니라	So the posts that rode upon mules and camels went out, being hastened and pressed on by the king’s commandment. And the decree was given at Shushan the palace.
에 8:15	모르드개가 푸르고 흰 조복을 입고 큰 금관을 쓰고 자색 가는 베 겉옷을 입고 왕 앞에서 나오니 수산 성이 즐거이 부르며 기뻐하고	And Mordecai went out from the presence of the king in royal apparel of blue and white, and with a great crown of gold, and with a garment of fine linen and purple: and the city of Shushan rejoiced and was glad.
에 8:16	유다인에게는 영광과 즐거움과 기쁨과 존귀함이 있는지라	The Jews had light, and gladness, and joy, and honour.
에 8:17	왕의 어명이 이르는 각 지방, 각 읍에서 유다인들이 즐기고 기뻐하여 잔치를 베풀고 그 날을 명절로 삼으니 본토 백성이 유다인을 두려워하여 유다인 되는 자가 많더라	And in every province, and in every city, whithersoever the king’s commandment and his decree came, the Jews had joy and gladness, a feast and a good day. And many of the people of the land became Jews; for the fear of the Jews fell upon them.
