소개 그는 외치지 아니하며 목소리를 높이지 아니하며 그 소리로 거리에 들리게 아니하며, 상한 갈대를 꺾지 아니하며 꺼져가는 등불을 끄지 아니하고 진리로 공의를 베풀 것이며 Isaiah speaks Messianically—The Lord shall bring his law and his judgment, be a light to the Gentiles, and free the prisoners—Praise ye the Lord.

 
사 42:1 내가 붙드는 나의 종, 내 마음에 기뻐하는 자 곧 내가 택한 사람을 보라 내가 나의 영을 그에게 주었은즉 그가 이방에 정의를 베풀리라 Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.

 
사 42:2 그는 외치지 아니하며 목소리를 높이지 아니하며 그 소리를 거리에 들리게 하지 아니하며 He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street.

 
사 42:3 상한 갈대를 꺾지 아니하며 꺼져가는 등불을 끄지 아니하고 진실로 정의를 시행할 것이며 A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.

 
사 42:4 그는 쇠하지 아니하며 낙담하지 아니하고 세상에 정의를 세우기에 이르리니 섬들이 그 교훈을 앙망하리라 He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.

 
사 42:5 하늘을 창조하여 펴시고 땅과 그 소산을 내시며 땅 위의 백성에게 호흡을 주시며 땅에 행하는 자에게 영을 주시는 하나님 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시되 Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:

 
사 42:6 나 여호와가 의로 너를 불렀은즉 내가 네 손을 잡아 너를 보호하며 너를 세워 백성의 언약과 이방의 빛이 되게 하리니 I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;

 
사 42:7 네가 눈먼 자들의 눈을 밝히며 갇힌 자를 감옥에서 이끌어 내며 흑암에 앉은 자를 감방에서 나오게 하리라 To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.

 
사 42:8 나는 여호와이니 이는 내 이름이라 나는 내 영광을 다른 자에게, 내 찬송을 우상에게 주지 아니하리라 I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

 
사 42:9 보라 전에 예언한 일이 이미 이루어졌느니라 이제 내가 새 일을 알리노라 그 일이 시작되기 전에라도 너희에게 이르노라 Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.

 
사 42:10 항해하는 자들과 바다 가운데의 만물과 섬들과 거기에 사는 사람들아 여호와께 새 노래로 노래하며 땅 끝에서부터 찬송하라 Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof.

 
사 42:11 광야와 거기에 있는 성읍들과 게달 사람이 사는 마을들은 소리를 높이라 셀라의 주민들은 노래하며 산 꼭대기에서 즐거이 부르라 Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains.

 
사 42:12 여호와께 영광을 돌리며 섬들 중에서 그의 찬송을 전할지어다 Let them give glory unto the LORD, and declare his praise in the islands.

 
사 42:13 여호와께서 용사 같이 나가시며 전사 같이 분발하여 외쳐 크게 부르시며 그 대적을 크게 치시리로다 The LORD shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war: he shall cry, yea, roar; he shall prevail against his enemies.

 
사 42:14 내가 오랫동안 조용하며 잠잠하고 참았으나 내가 해산하는 여인 같이 부르짖으리니 숨이 차서 심히 헐떡일 것이라 I have long time holden my peace; I have been still, and refrained myself: now will I cry like a travailing woman; I will destroy and devour at once.

 
사 42:15 내가 산들과 언덕들을 황폐하게 하며 그 모든 초목들을 마르게 하며 강들이 섬이 되게 하며 못들을 마르게 할 것이며 I will make waste mountains and hills, and dry up all their herbs; and I will make the rivers islands, and I will dry up the pools.

 
사 42:16 내가 맹인들을 그들이 알지 못하는 길로 이끌며 그들이 알지 못하는 지름길로 인도하며 암흑이 그 앞에서 광명이 되게 하며 굽은 데를 곧게 할 것이라 내가 이 일을 행하여 그들을 버리지 아니하리니 And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.

 
사 42:17 조각한 우상을 의지하며 부어 만든 우상을 향하여 너희는 우리의 신이라 하는 자는 물리침을 받아 크게 수치를 당하리라 They shall be turned back, they shall be greatly ashamed, that trust in graven images, that say to the molten images, Ye are our gods.

 
사 42:18 너희 못 듣는 자들아 들으라 너희 맹인들아 밝히 보라 Hear, ye deaf; and look, ye blind, that ye may see.

 
사 42:19 맹인이 누구냐 내 종이 아니냐 누가 내가 보내는 내 사자 같이 못 듣는 자겠느냐 누가 내게 충성된 자 같이 맹인이겠느냐 누가 여호와의 종 같이 맹인이겠느냐 Who is blind, but my servant? or deaf, as my messenger that I sent? who is blind as he that is perfect, and blind as the LORD’s servant?

 
사 42:20 네가 많은 것을 볼지라도 유의하지 아니하며 귀가 열려 있을지라도 듣지 아니하는도다 Seeing many things, but thou observest not; opening the ears, but he heareth not.

 
사 42:21 여호와께서 그의 의로 말미암아 기쁨으로 교훈을 크게 하며 존귀하게 하려 하셨으나 The LORD is well pleased for his righteousness’ sake; he will magnify the law, and make it honourable.

 
사 42:22 이 백성이 도둑 맞으며 탈취를 당하며 다 굴 속에 잡히며 옥에 갇히도다 노략을 당하되 구할 자가 없고 탈취를 당하되 되돌려 주라 말할 자가 없도다 But this is a people robbed and spoiled; they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses: they are for a prey, and none delivereth; for a spoil, and none saith, Restore.

 
사 42:23 너희 중에 누가 이 일에 귀를 기울이겠느냐 누가 뒤에 올 일을 삼가 듣겠느냐 Who among you will give ear to this? who will hearken and hear for the time to come?

 
사 42:24 야곱이 탈취를 당하게 하신 자가 누구냐 이스라엘을 약탈자들에게 넘기신 자가 누구냐 여호와가 아니시냐 우리가 그에게 범죄하였도다 그들이 그의 길로 다니기를 원하지 아니하며 그의 교훈을 순종하지 아니하였도다 Who gave Jacob for a spoil, and Israel to the robbers? did not the LORD, he against whom we have sinned? for they would not walk in his ways, neither were they obedient unto his law.

 
사 42:25 그러므로 여호와께서 맹렬한 진노와 전쟁의 위력을 이스라엘에게 쏟아 부으시매 그 사방에서 불타오르나 깨닫지 못하며 몸이 타나 마음에 두지 아니하는도다 Therefore he hath poured upon him the fury of his anger, and the strength of battle: and it hath set him on fire round about, yet he knew not; and it burned him, yet he laid it not to heart.
