| 소개 | 여호와여 우리의 당한 것을 기억하시고 우리의 수욕을 감찰하옵소서 | Jeremiah recites in prayer the sorrowful estate of Zion. |

| 애 5:1 | 여호와여 우리가 당한 것을 기억하시고 우리가 받은 치욕을 살펴보옵소서 | Remember, O LORD, what is come upon us: consider, and behold our reproach. |
|
| 애 5:2 | 우리의 기업이 외인들에게, 우리의 집들도 이방인들에게 돌아갔나이다 | Our inheritance is turned to strangers, our houses to aliens. |
|
| 애 5:3 | 우리는 아버지 없는 고아들이오며 우리의 어머니는 과부들 같으니 | We are orphans and fatherless, our mothers are as widows. |
|
| 애 5:4 | 우리가 은을 주고 물을 마시며 값을 주고 나무들을 가져오며 | We have drunken our water for money; our wood is sold unto us. |
|
| 애 5:5 | 우리를 뒤쫓는 자들이 우리의 목을 눌렀사오니 우리가 기진하여 쉴 수 없나이다 | Our necks are under persecution: we labour, and have no rest. |

| 애 5:6 | 우리가 애굽 사람과 앗수르 사람과 악수하고 양식을 얻어 배불리고자 하였나이다 | We have given the hand to the Egyptians, and to the Assyrians, to be satisfied with bread. |

| 애 5:7 | 우리의 조상들은 범죄하고 없어졌으며 우리는 그들의 죄악을 담당하였나이다 | Our fathers have sinned, and are not; and we have borne their iniquities. |

| 애 5:8 | 종들이 우리를 지배함이여 그들의 손에서 건져낼 자가 없나이다 | Servants have ruled over us: there is none that doth deliver us out of their hand. |

| 애 5:9 | 광야에는 칼이 있으므로 죽기를 무릅써야 양식을 얻사오니 | We gat our bread with the peril of our lives because of the sword of the wilderness. |

| 애 5:10 | 굶주림의 열기로 말미암아 우리의 피부가 아궁이처럼 검으니이다 | Our skin was black like an oven because of the terrible famine. |
|
| 애 5:11 | 대적들이 시온에서 부녀들을, 유다 각 성읍에서 처녀들을 욕보였나이다 | They ravished the women in Zion, and the maids in the cities of Judah. |
|
| 애 5:12 | 지도자들은 그들의 손에 매달리고 장로들의 얼굴도 존경을 받지 못하나이다 | Princes are hanged up by their hand: the faces of elders were not honoured. |
|
| 애 5:13 | 청년들이 맷돌을 지며 아이들이 나무를 지다가 엎드러지오며 | They took the young men to grind, and the children fell under the wood. |

| 애 5:14 | 노인들은 다시 성문에 앉지 못하며 청년들은 다시 노래하지 못하나이다 | The elders have ceased from the gate, the young men from their musick. |

| 애 5:15 | 우리의 마음에는 기쁨이 그쳤고 우리의 춤은 변하여 슬픔이 되었사오며 | The joy of our heart is ceased; our dance is turned into mourning. |

| 애 5:16 | 우리의 머리에서는 면류관이 떨어졌사오니 오호라 우리의 범죄 때문이니이다 | The crown is fallen from our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned! |
|
| 애 5:17 | 이러므로 우리의 마음이 피곤하고 이러므로 우리 눈들이 어두우며 | For this our heart is faint; for these things our eyes are dim. |
|
| 애 5:18 | 시온 산이 황폐하여 여우가 그 안에서 노나이다 | Because of the mountain of Zion, which is desolate, the foxes walk upon it. |
|
| 애 5:19 | 여호와여 주는 영원히 계시오며 주의 보좌는 대대에 이르나이다 | Thou, O LORD, remainest for ever; thy throne from generation to generation. |

| 애 5:20 | 주께서 어찌하여 우리를 영원히 잊으시오며 우리를 이같이 오래 버리시나이까 | Wherefore dost thou forget us for ever, and forsake us so long time? |

| 애 5:21 | 여호와여 우리를 주께로 돌이키소서 그리하시면 우리가 주께로 돌아가겠사오니 우리의 날들을 다시 새롭게 하사 옛적 같게 하옵소서 | Turn thou us unto thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old. |

| 애 5:22 | 주께서 우리를 아주 버리셨사오며 우리에게 진노하심이 참으로 크시니이다 | But thou hast utterly rejected us; thou art very wroth against us. |
