| 이더 2:1 | 이에 이렇게 되었나니 야렛과 그의 형제와 그들의 가족들과 또한 야렛과 그의 형제의 친구들과 그들의 가족들이 그 함께 모은 바, 그들의 각종 양 떼의 암수와 함께 북편의 골짜기로 (그 골짜기의 이름은 니므롯이니 저 영걸한 사냥꾼을 따라 일컫는 것이더라) 내려갔느니라. | And it came to pass that Jared and his brother, and their families, and also the friends of Jared and his brother and their families, went down into the valley which was northward, (and the name of the valley was Nimrod, being called after the mighty hunter) with their flocks which they had gathered together, male and female, of every kind. |
| 이더 2:2 | 또 그들이 올무를 놓아 공중의 새도 잡았으며, 또 그들이 용기를 하나 준비하여, 거기에 물고기도 담아서 가져갔더라. | And they did also lay snares and catch fowls of the air; and they did also prepare a vessel, in which they did carry with them the fish of the waters. |
| 이더 2:3 | 그리고 그들이 또한 데세레트도 가져갔으니, 이는 해석한 즉 꿀벌이라. 이같이 그들이 벌 떼와, 땅 위에 있는 온갖 것, 각종 씨앗을 가져갔더라. | And they did also carry with them deseret, which, by interpretation, is a honey bee; and thus they did carry with them swarms of bees, and all manner of that which was upon the face of the land, seeds of every kind. |
| 이더 2:4 | 이에 이렇게 되었나니 그들이 니므롯 골짜기로 내려오매 주께서 내려오사 야렛의 형제와 말씀하셨으나, 그가 구름 가운데 계셨던지라, 야렛의 형제가 주를 보지 못하였더라. | And it came to pass that when they had come down into the valley of Nimrod the Lord came down and talked with the brother of Jared; and he was in a cloud, and the brother of Jared saw him not. |
| 이더 2:5 | 또 이렇게 되었나니 주께서 그들에게 명하사 광야로 나아가게 하시되, 참으로 사람이 결코 있지 아니하였던 지역으로 나아가게 하시고, 또 이렇게 되었나니 주께서 그들 앞에 행하시며, 구름 가운데 서셔서 그들과 말씀하시며, 그들이 어디로 여행해야 할지 지시해 주셨더라. | And it came to pass that the Lord commanded them that they should go forth into the wilderness, yea, into that quarter where there never had man been. And it came to pass that the Lord did go before them, and did talk with them as he stood in a cloud, and gave directions whither they should travel. |
| 이더 2:6 | 이에 이렇게 되었나니 그들이 끊임없이 주의 손으로 지시하심을 받으며, 광야를 여행하고, 거룻배들을 지어 타고, 많은 물을 건넜더라. | And it came to pass that they did travel in the wilderness, and did build barges, in which they did cross many waters, being directed continually by the hand of the Lord. |
| 이더 2:7 | 또 주는 그들이 바다 건너 광야에서 멈추기를 용납하고자 아니하시고, 그들로 나아가 참으로 약속의 땅에 이르게 하고자 하셨으니, 이는 주 하나님께서 의로운 백성을 위하여 보존하신 바 다른 모든 땅 위에 뛰어난 땅이더라. | And the Lord would not suffer that they should stop beyond the sea in the wilderness, but he would that they should come forth even unto the land of promise, which was choice above all other lands, which the Lord God had preserved for a righteous people. |
| 이더 2:8 | 또 그는 그의 진노 중에 야렛의 형제에게 맹세하사, 그때로부터 이후 영원토록 누구든지 이 약속의 땅을 소유하는 자는 그 곧 참되고 유일하신 하나님을 섬겨야 하며, 그렇지 아니하면 그의 가득한 진노가 그들에게 임할 때 그들이 쓸어버림을 당하리라 하셨느니라. | And he had sworn in his wrath unto the brother of Jared, that whoso should possess this land of promise, from that time henceforth and forever, should serve him, the true and only God, or they should be swept off when the fulness of his wrath should come upon them. |
| 이더 2:9 | 이에 이제 우리는 이 땅에 관한 하나님의 명령을 알 수 있으니, 곧 이 땅은 약속의 땅이요, 무릇 어느 나라든지 이를 차지하는 나라는 하나님을 섬길지며, 그렇지 아니하면 그의 가득한 진노가 그들에게 임할 때 그들이 쓸어버림을 당할 것이라 함이니라. 또 그의 가득한 진노는 그들의 죄악이 무르익었을 때 그들에게 임하느니라. | And now, we can behold the decrees of God concerning this land, that it is a land of promise; and whatsoever nation shall possess it shall serve God, or they shall be swept off when the fulness of his wrath shall come upon them. And the fulness of his wrath cometh upon them when they are ripened in iniquity. |
| 이더 2:10 | 이는 보라, 이 땅은 다른 모든 땅 위에 뛰어난 땅임이라. 그러므로 이 땅을 차지하는 자는 하나님을 섬길지며, 그렇지 아니하면 쓸어버림을 당하리니 이는 이것이 하나님의 영원하신 명령임이니라. 그러나 이 땅의 자녀들 가운데 죄악이 가득해지기까지는 그들이 쓸어버림을 당하지 아니하리라. | For behold, this is a land which is choice above all other lands; wherefore he that doth possess it shall serve God or shall be swept off; for it is the everlasting decree of God. And it is not until the fulness of iniquity among the children of the land, that they are swept off. |
| 이더 2:11 | 또 너희 이방인들아, 이것이 너희에게 나아옴은 너희로 하나님의 명령을 알게 하려 함이요 - 그리하여 너희가 회개하여 그 가득함이 임하기까지 너희의 죄악 중에 계속 행하지 않게 하여, 너희가 이제까지 이 땅의 주민들이 행하여 온 것같이 하나님의 가득한 진노를 너희 위에 초래하지 않게 하려 함이니라. | And this cometh unto you, O ye Gentiles, that ye may know the decrees of God-that ye may repent, and not continue in your iniquities until the fulness come, that ye may not bring down the fulness of the wrath of God upon you as the inhabitants of the land have hitherto done. |
| 이더 2:12 | 보라 이는 빼어난 땅이니, 무릇 어느 나라든지 이를 소유하게 되는 나라는, 만일 그들이 이 땅의 하나님, 곧 우리가 기록한 것으로 말미암아 명백히 나타낸 바 되신 예수 그리스도를 섬기기만 하면, 속박에서와, 사로잡힘에서와, 하늘 아래의 모든 나라로부터 자유롭게 되리라. | Behold, this is a choice land, and whatsoever nation shall possess it shall be free from bondage, and from captivity, and from all other nations under heaven, if they will but serve the God of the land, who is Jesus Christ, who hath been manifested by the things which we have written. |
| 이더 2:13 | 이제 나는 나의 기록을 계속하노라. 보라, 이렇게 되었나니 주께서 야렛과 그의 동료들을 인도하사 땅들을 갈라놓는 저 큰 바다로 데려가시매, 그들이 바다에 이르러 그들의 장막을 치고 그 곳 이름을 모리안쿠머라 칭하였으며, 그들이 장막에 거하되 사 년 동안을 바닷가에서 장막에 거하였더라. | And now I proceed with my record; for behold, it came to pass that the Lord did bring Jared and his brethren forth even to that great sea which divideth the lands. And as they came to the sea they pitched their tents; and they called the name of the place Moriancumer; and they dwelt in tents, and dwelt in tents upon the seashore for the space of four years. |
| 이더 2:14 | 그리고 이렇게 되었나니 사 년 말에 주께서 야렛의 형제에게로 다시 오사, 구름 가운데 서셔서 그와 말씀하시되, 세 시간 동안 주께서 야렛의 형제와 말씀하시고 그를 질책하시니, 이는 그가 주의 이름을 부르기를 기억하지 아니하였던 까닭이라. | And it came to pass at the end of four years that the Lord came again unto the brother of Jared, and stood in a cloud and talked with him. And for the space of three hours did the Lord talk with the brother of Jared, and chastened him because he remembered not to call upon the name of the Lord. |
| 이더 2:15 | 이에 야렛의 형제가 자기의 행한 악을 회개하고, 자기와 함께 있는 동료들을 위하여 주의 이름을 부른지라, 주께서 그에게 이르시되, 내가 너와 네 동료들의 죄를 사하리라. 그러나 너는 더 이상 죄를 범하지 말지니, 이는 나의 영이 항상 사람과 함께 애쓰지는 아니할 것임을 너희가 기억할 것임이니라. 그런 즉 만일 너희가 죄로 온전히 무르익기까지 죄를 범할진대, 너희가 주의 면전에서 끊어 버림을 당하리니, 이것이 내가 너희에게 주어 너희의 기업을 삼게 할 그 땅에 대한 나의 생각이라. 이는 그것이 다른 모든 땅 위에 뛰어난 땅이 될 것임이니라 하시더라. | And the brother of Jared repented of the evil which he had done, and did call upon the name of the Lord for his brethren who were with him. And the Lord said unto him: I will forgive thee and thy brethren of their sins; but thou shalt not sin any more, for ye shall remember that my Spirit will not always strive with man; wherefore, if ye will sin until ye are fully ripe ye shall be cut off from the presence of the Lord. And these are my thoughts upon the land which I shall give you for your inheritance; for it shall be a land choice above all other lands. |
| 이더 2:16 | 또 주께서 이르시되, 가서 일하여 너희가 이제까지 지어 온 거룻배의 방식을 따라 지으라 하시니라. 이에 이렇게 되었나니 야렛의 형제와 또한 그의 동료들이 가서 일하여, 주의 지시를 좇아, 그들이 지었던 방식을 따라 거룻배들을 지으매, 그 배들은 작으며, 물 위에서 가볍기가 참으로 마치 물 위에 뜬 새의 가벼움 같았더라. | And the Lord said: Go to work and build, after the manner of barges which ye have hitherto built. And it came to pass that the brother of Jared did go to work, and also his brethren, and built barges after the manner which they had built, according to the instructions of the Lord. And they were small, and they were light upon the water, even like unto the lightness of a fowl upon the water. |
| 이더 2:17 | 또 그 배들은 아주 물샐틈없이 지어져 마치 접시처럼 물을 가둘만 하였으며, 그 바닥도 물샐틈없기가 마치 접시 같았으며, 그 옆면도 물샐틈없기가 마치 접시 같았으며, 그 양끝은 뾰족하였으며, 그 위도 물샐틈없기가 마치 접시 같았으며, 그 길이는 나무 하나의 길이였으며, 그 문도 닫으면 물샐틈없기가 마치 접시 같았더라. | And they were built after a manner that they were exceedingly tight, even that they would hold water like unto a dish; and the bottom thereof was tight like unto a dish; and the sides thereof were tight like unto a dish; and the ends thereof were peaked; and the top thereof was tight like unto a dish; and the length thereof was the length of a tree; and the door thereof, when it was shut, was tight like unto a dish. |
| 이더 2:18 | 이에 이렇게 되었나니 야렛의 형제가 주께 부르짖어 아뢰되, 주여, 주께서 내게 명하신 일을 내가 실행하여 주께서 나를 지도하신 대로 거룻배들을 만들었나이다. | And it came to pass that the brother of Jared cried unto the Lord, saying: O Lord, I have performed the work which thou hast commanded me, and I have made the barges according as thou hast directed me. |
| 이더 2:19 | 그러나 주여, 보소서, 그 안에 빛이 없나이다. 어디로 우리가 방향을 돌려야 하오리이까? 또한 우리가 죽게 되오리니, 이는 그 안에 있는 공기 외에는 그 안에서 우리가 숨을 쉴 수 없으므로 우리가 죽게 될 것임이니이다. | And behold, O Lord, in them there is no light; whither shall we steer? And also we shall perish, for in them we cannot breathe, save it is the air which is in them; therefore we shall perish. |
| 이더 2:20 | 이에 주께서 야렛의 형제에게 이르시되, 보라, 너는 위와 또한 아래에 구멍을 하나씩 낼지니, 네가 공기가 부족할 때 너는 구멍을 열고 공기를 받을지니라. 또 만일 물이 네게로 들어오거든, 보라, 너희는 구멍을 막아서 넘치는 물에 잠겨 죽지 않게 할지니라. | And the Lord said unto the brother of Jared: Behold, thou shalt make a hole in the top, and also in the bottom; and when thou shalt suffer for air thou shalt unstop the hole and receive air. And if it be so that the water come in upon thee, behold, ye shall stop the hole, that ye may not perish in the flood. |
| 이더 2:21 | 이에 이렇게 되었나니 야렛의 형제가 주께서 명하신 대로 그리 행하였더라. | And it came to pass that the brother of Jared did so, according as the Lord had commanded. |
| 이더 2:22 | 그리고 다시 주께 부르짖어 아뢰되, 주여, 보시옵소서 주께서 내게 명하신 대로 내가 행하여 나의 백성을 위하여 배를 예비하였사오나, 보소서, 그 안에 빛이 없나이다. 주여, 보시옵소서, 주께서 우리로 이 큰 물을 암흑 중에 건너도록 버려두시려 하나이까? | And he cried again unto the Lord saying: O Lord, behold I have done even as thou hast commanded me; and I have prepared the vessels for my people, and behold there is no light in them. Behold, O Lord, wilt thou suffer that we shall cross this great water in darkness? |
| 이더 2:23 | 이에 주께서 야렛의 형제에게 이르시되, 너희가 너희의 배 안에 빛을 갖도록 내가 어떻게 하여 주기를 원하느냐? 이는 보라, 너희가 창을 가질 수 없나니, 이는 그것이 부서져 산산조각이 될 것임이요, 너희가 불을 가져가지도 말지니, 이는 너희가 불빛에 의지하여 행하지 아니할 것임이라. | And the Lord said unto the brother of Jared: What will ye that I should do that ye may have light in your vessels? For behold, ye cannot have windows, for they will be dashed in pieces; neither shall ye take fire with you, for ye shall not go by the light of fire. |
| 이더 2:24 | 이는 보라, 산 같은 파도가 너희 위에 부딪치므로 너희가 바다 한 가운데 있는 고래 같을 것임이라. 그러나 내가 바다 깊은 곳에서 너희를 다시 인도해 올리리니, 이는 바람이 내 입에서 나아갔으며, 비와 넘치는 물도 내가 보내었음이라. | For behold, ye shall be as a whale in the midst of the sea; for the mountain waves shall dash upon you. Nevertheless, I will bring you up again out of the depths of the sea; for the winds have gone forth out of my mouth, and also the rains and the floods have I sent forth. |
| 이더 2:25 | 이에 보라, 이러한 것에 대비하여 내가 너희를 예비시키노니, 이는 바다의 파도와 나아간 바람과 밀려올 넘치는 물에 대비하여 내가 너희를 예비시키지 아니하고는, 너희가 이 큰 깊음을 건널 수 없음이니라. 그러한즉 너희가 바다 깊은 곳에 삼키울 때에 너희가 빛을 갖도록 내가 너희를 위하여 어떻게 예비하여 주기를 원하느냐? | And behold, I prepare you against these things; for ye cannot cross this great deep save I prepare you against the waves of the sea, and the winds which have gone forth, and the floods which shall come. Therefore what will ye that I should prepare for you that ye may have light when ye are swallowed up in the depths of the sea? |
