소개 네 마음이 음녀의 길로 치우치지 말며 그 길에 미혹지 말지어다 A whorish woman leads a man as an ox to the slaughter—The house of an adulterous woman is the way to hell.

 
잠 7:1 내 아들아 내 말을 지키며 내 계명을 간직하라 My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.

 
잠 7:2 내 계명을 지켜 살며 내 법을 네 눈동자처럼 지키라 Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.

 
잠 7:3 이것을 네 손가락에 매며 이것을 네 마음판에 새기라 Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.

 
잠 7:4 지혜에게 너는 내 누이라 하며 명철에게 너는 내 친족이라 하라 Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman:

 
잠 7:5 그리하면 이것이 너를 지켜서 음녀에게, 말로 호리는 이방 여인에게 빠지지 않게 하리라 That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger which flattereth with her words.

 
잠 7:6 내가 내 집 들창으로, 살창으로 내다 보다가 For at the window of my house I looked through my casement,

 
잠 7:7 어리석은 자 중에, 젊은이 가운데에 한 지혜 없는 자를 보았노라 And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,

 
잠 7:8 그가 거리를 지나 음녀의 골목 모퉁이로 가까이 하여 그의 집쪽으로 가는데 Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house,

 
잠 7:9 저물 때, 황혼 때, 깊은 밤 흑암 중에라 In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night:

 
잠 7:10 그 때에 기생의 옷을 입은 간교한 여인이 그를 맞으니 And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart.

 
잠 7:11 이 여인은 떠들며 완악하며 그의 발이 집에 머물지 아니하여 (She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:

 
잠 7:12 어떤 때에는 거리, 어떤 때에는 광장 또 모퉁이마다 서서 사람을 기다리는 자라 Now is she without, now in the streets, and lieth in wait at every corner.)

 
잠 7:13 그 여인이 그를 붙잡고 그에게 입맞추며 부끄러움을 모르는 얼굴로 그에게 말하되 So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him,

 
잠 7:14 내가 화목제를 드려 서원한 것을 오늘 갚았노라 I have peace offerings with me; this day have I payed my vows.

 
잠 7:15 이러므로 내가 너를 맞으려고 나와 네 얼굴을 찾다가 너를 만났도다 Therefore came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee.

 
잠 7:16 내 침상에는 요와 애굽의 무늬 있는 이불을 폈고 I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt.

 
잠 7:17 몰약과 침향과 계피를 뿌렸노라 I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.

 
잠 7:18 오라 우리가 아침까지 흡족하게 서로 사랑하며 사랑함으로 희락하자 Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves.

 
잠 7:19 남편은 집을 떠나 먼 길을 갔는데 For the goodman is not at home, he is gone a long journey:

 
잠 7:20 은 주머니를 가졌은즉 보름 날에나 집에 돌아오리라 하여 He hath taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed.

 
잠 7:21 여러 가지 고운 말로 유혹하며 입술의 호리는 말로 꾀므로 With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.

 
잠 7:22 젊은이가 곧 그를 따랐으니 소가 도수장으로 가는 것 같고 미련한 자가 벌을 받으려고 쇠사슬에 매이러 가는 것과 같도다 He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;

 
잠 7:23 필경은 화살이 그 간을 뚫게 되리라 새가 빨리 그물로 들어가되 그의 생명을 잃어버릴 줄을 알지 못함과 같으니라 Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life.

 
잠 7:24 이제 아들들아 내 말을 듣고 내 입의 말에 주의하라 Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth.

 
잠 7:25 네 마음이 음녀의 길로 치우치지 말며 그 길에 미혹되지 말지어다 Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.

 
잠 7:26 대저 그가 많은 사람을 상하여 엎드러지게 하였나니 그에게 죽은 자가 허다하니라 For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.

 
잠 7:27 그의 집은 스올의 길이라 사망의 방으로 내려가느니라 Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.
