| 소개 | 죽은 파리가 항기름으로 악취가 나게 하는 것 같이 적은 우매가 지혜와 존귀로 패하게 하느니라 | A little folly destroys the reputation of the wise and honorable—The words of a wise man’s mouth are gracious—A fool is full of words. |

| 전 10:1 | 죽은 파리들이 향기름을 악취가 나게 만드는 것 같이 적은 우매가 지혜와 존귀를 난처하게 만드느니라 | Dead flies cause the ointment of the apothecary to send forth a stinking savour: so doth a little folly him that is in reputation for wisdom and honour. |

| 전 10:2 | 지혜자의 마음은 오른쪽에 있고 우매자의 마음은 왼쪽에 있느니라 | A wise man’s heart is at his right hand; but a fool’s heart at his left. |

| 전 10:3 | 우매한 자는 길을 갈 때에도 지혜가 부족하여 각 사람에게 자기가 우매함을 말하느니라 | Yea also, when he that is a fool walketh by the way, his wisdom faileth him, and he saith to every one that he is a fool. |

| 전 10:4 | 주권자가 네게 분을 일으키거든 너는 네 자리를 떠나지 말라 공손함이 큰 허물을 용서 받게 하느니라 | If the spirit of the ruler rise up against thee, leave not thy place; for yielding pacifieth great offences. |

| 전 10:5 | 내가 해 아래에서 한 가지 재난을 보았노니 곧 주권자에게서 나오는 허물이라 | There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, as an error which proceedeth from the ruler: |

| 전 10:6 | 우매한 자가 크게 높은 지위들을 얻고 부자들이 낮은 지위에 앉는도다 | Folly is set in great dignity, and the rich sit in low place. |

| 전 10:7 | 또 내가 보았노니 종들은 말을 타고 고관들은 종들처럼 땅에 걸어 다니는도다 | I have seen servants upon horses, and princes walking as servants upon the earth. |

| 전 10:8 | 함정을 파는 자는 거기에 빠질 것이요 담을 허는 자는 뱀에게 물리리라 | He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaketh an hedge, a serpent shall bite him. |

| 전 10:9 | 돌들을 떠내는 자는 그로 말미암아 상할 것이요 나무들을 쪼개는 자는 그로 말미암아 위험을 당하리라 | Whoso removeth stones shall be hurt therewith; and he that cleaveth wood shall be endangered thereby. |

| 전 10:10 | 철 연장이 무디어졌는데도 날을 갈지 아니하면 힘이 더 드느니라 오직 지혜는 성공하기에 유익하니라 | If the iron be blunt, and he do not whet the edge, then must he put to more strength: but wisdom is profitable to direct. |

| 전 10:11 | 주술을 베풀기 전에 뱀에게 물렸으면 술객은 소용이 없느니라 | Surely the serpent will bite without enchantment; and a babbler is no better. |

| 전 10:12 | 지혜자의 입의 말들은 은혜로우나 우매자의 입술들은 자기를 삼키나니 | The words of a wise man’s mouth are gracious; but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself. |

| 전 10:13 | 그의 입의 말들의 시작은 우매요 그의 입의 결말들은 심히 미친 것이니라 | The beginning of the words of his mouth is foolishness: and the end of his talk is mischievous madness. |

| 전 10:14 | 우매한 자는 말을 많이 하거니와 사람은 장래 일을 알지 못하나니 나중에 일어날 일을 누가 그에게 알리리요 | A fool also is full of words: a man cannot tell what shall be; and what shall be after him, who can tell him? |

| 전 10:15 | 우매한 자들의 수고는 자신을 피곤하게 할 뿐이라 그들은 성읍에 들어갈 줄도 알지 못함이니라 | The labour of the foolish wearieth every one of them, because he knoweth not how to go to the city. |

| 전 10:16 | 왕은 어리고 대신들은 아침부터 잔치하는 나라여 네게 화가 있도다 | Woe to thee, O land, when thy king is a child, and thy princes eat in the morning! |

| 전 10:17 | 왕은 귀족들의 아들이요 대신들은 취하지 아니하고 기력을 보하려고 정한 때에 먹는 나라여 네게 복이 있도다 | Blessed art thou, O land, when thy king is the son of nobles, and thy princes eat in due season, for strength, and not for drunkenness! |

| 전 10:18 | 게으른즉 서까래가 내려앉고 손을 놓은즉 집이 새느니라 | By much slothfulness the building decayeth; and through idleness of the hands the house droppeth through. |

| 전 10:19 | 잔치는 희락을 위하여 베푸는 것이요 포도주는 생명을 기쁘게 하는 것이나 돈은 범사에 이용되느니라 | A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all things. |

| 전 10:20 | 심중에라도 왕을 저주하지 말며 침실에서라도 부자를 저주하지 말라 공중의 새가 그 소리를 전하고 날짐승이 그 일을 전파할 것임이니라 | Curse not the king, no not in thy thought; and curse not the rich in thy bedchamber: for a bird of the air shall carry the voice, and that which hath wings shall tell the matter. |
