조고전 7:1 이제 너희가 내게 쓴 문제에 대하여 이르되 남자는 여자와 관계하지 않는 것이 좋으니라. NOW concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me saying, It is good for a man not to touch a woman.

 
조고전 7:2 그럼에도 내가 이르노니 음행을 피하기 위하여 모든 남자는 자신의 아내를 두고 모든 여자는 자신의 남편을 둘지니라. Nevertheless, I say, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.

 
조고전 7:5 서로 떨어지지 말라. 다만 얼마 동안 합의로써 금식과 기도에 헌신하고자 할 때에는 예외이나, 다시 합하라. 이는 너희가 절제하지 못함으로 말미암아 사탄이 너희를 시험하지 못하게 하려 함이니라. Depart ye not one from the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.

 
조고전 7:26 그러므로 내 생각에는 이것이 좋으니 곧 지금의 환난으로 말미암아 남자는 더 큰 선을 행할 수 있도록 그대로 있는 것이 좋으니라. I suppose therefore that this is good for the present distress, for a man so to remain that he may do greater good.

 
조고전 7:29 그러나 이 성역에 부름 받은 너희에게 말하노라. 무릇 내가 이를 이르노니, 형제들이여, 남아있는 시간, 곧 너희가 성역에 파송될 시간이 얼마 없도다. 아내를 둔 자들도 없는 자 같이 할지어다. 이는 너희가 주의 사업을 행하도록 부름 받고 택함 받았음이니라. But I speak unto you who are called unto the ministry. For this I say, brethren, the time that remaineth is but short, that ye shall be sent forth unto the ministry. Even they who have wives, shall be as though they had none; for ye are called and chosen to do the Lord’s work.

 
조고전 7:30 또 우는 자들과 함께 할 때에는 울지 않는 자 같이 할 것이며, 기쁜 자들과는 기쁘지 않는 자 같이 할 것이며, 물건을 사는 자들과는 물건을 소유하지 않은 자 같이 할 것이라. And it shall be with them who weep, as though they wept not; and them who rejoice, as though they rejoiced not, and them who buy, as though they possessed not;

 
조고전 7:31 또 이 세상 것을 사용하는 자들과는 사용하지 않는 자처럼 하라. 이는 이 세상의 형식은 사라져 지나감이라. And them who use this world, as not using it; for the fashion of this world passeth away.

 
조고전 7:32 그러나 형제들이여 내가 바라노니 너희 부르심을 영화롭게 하라. 나는 너희가 염려 없기를 바라노라. 이는 결혼하지 아니한 자는 주께 속한 일들을 염려하여 어찌하여야 주를 기쁘시게 할까 하나니 그러므로 그는 승리를 얻느니라. But I would, brethren, that ye magnify your calling. I would have you without carefulness. For he who is unmarried, careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord; therefore he prevaileth.

 
조고전 7:33 그러나 결혼한 자는 세상에 속한 것들을 염려하여 어찌하여야 자기 아내를 기쁘게 할까 하나니 그러므로 차이가 있도다. 이는 그가 방해를 받음이니라. But he who is married, careth for the things that are of the world, how he may please his wife; therefore there is a difference, for he is hindered.
