| 니전 12:1 | 또 이렇게 되었나니 천사가 내게 이르기를, 보라, 그리하여 네 자손과 네 형제들의 자손을 볼지어다 하기로, 내가 보고 약속의 땅을 보았고, 또 허다한 사람들의 무리를 보았나니, 참으로 그 수가 마치 바다의 모래알과 같이 많더라. | And it came to pass that the angel said unto me: Look, and behold thy seed, and also the seed of thy brethren. And I looked and beheld the land of promise; and I beheld multitudes of people, yea, even as it were in number as many as the sand of the sea. |
| 니전 12:2 | 또 이렇게 되었나니 나는 허다한 무리들이 서로 대적하여 싸우려고 함께 모이는 것을 보았으며, 또 나는 내 백성 가운데 여러 전쟁과 전쟁의 소문과 칼로 행하여지는 큰 살육들을 보았느니라. | And it came to pass that I beheld multitudes gathered together to battle, one against the other; and I beheld wars, and rumors of wars, and great slaughters with the sword among my people. |
| 니전 12:3 | 또 이렇게 되었나니 나는 그 땅에서 전쟁과 분쟁의 와중에 많은 세대가 지나감을 보았고, 또 많은 성읍들을 보았나니, 참으로 그 수가 많은고로 내가 세지 아니하였느니라. | And it came to pass that I beheld many generations pass away, after the manner of wars and contentions in the land; and I beheld many cities, yea, even that I did not number them. |
| 니전 12:4 | 또 이렇게 되었나니 나는 약속의 땅 위에 어둠의 안개를 보았으며, 또 번개를 보았으며, 또 천둥과 지진과 온갖 종류의 요란한 소리를 들었으며, 또 땅과 바위들이 갈라지는 것을 보았으며, 또 산들이 산산조각으로 무너짐을 보았으며, 또 땅의 평지들이 갈라지는 것을 보았으며, 또 많은 성읍들이 가라앉는 것을 보았으며, 또 많은 성읍들이 불에 타는 것을 보았으며, 또 많은 성읍들이 땅의 흔들림으로 인하여 땅에 무너지는 것을 보았느니라. | And it came to pass that I saw a mist of darkness on the face of the land of promise; and I saw lightnings, and I heard thunderings, and earthquakes, and all manner of tumultuous noises; and I saw the earth and the rocks, that they rent; and I saw mountains tumbling into pieces; and I saw the plains of the earth, that they were broken up; and I saw many cities that they were sunk; and I saw many that they were burned with fire; and I saw many that did tumble to the earth, because of the quaking thereof. |
| 니전 12:5 | 또 이렇게 되었나니 내가 이러한 것을 본 후에 나는 어둠의 연무가 땅에서 걷히는 것을 보았으며, 또 보라 나는 크고 두려운 주의 심판으로 인하여 엎드러지지 아니한 허다한 많은 무리를 보았느니라. | And it came to pass after I saw these things, I saw the vapor of darkness, that it passed from off the face of the earth; and behold, I saw multitudes who had not fallen because of the great and terrible judgments of the Lord. |
| 니전 12:6 | 또 내가 보니 하늘들이 열리고, 하나님의 어린 양이 하늘에서 내려 오시더니, 그가 내려오셔서 그들에게 자기를 보이시더라. | And I saw the heavens open, and the Lamb of God descending out of heaven; and he came down and showed himself unto them. |
| 니전 12:7 | 또한 내가 보았고 증거하노니 성신이 다른 열둘 위에 내리시더니, 그들이 하나님께 성임을 받고 택하심을 입더라. | And I also saw and bear record that the Holy Ghost fell upon twelve others; and they were ordained of God, and chosen. |
| 니전 12:8 | 이에 천사가 내게 말하여 이르되, 네 자손들에게 성역을 베풀도록 택하심을 입은 어린 양의 열두 제자를 보라 하더라. | And the angel spake unto me, saying: Behold the twelve disciples of the Lamb, who are chosen to minister unto thy seed. |
| 니전 12:9 | 또 그가 내게 이르기를, 너는 어린 양의 열두 사도를 기억하느냐? 보라 그들이 바로 이스라엘의 열두 지파를 심판할 자들이라. 그러한즉 네 자손의 열두 성역자들이 그들에게 심판을 받으리니 이는 너희가 이스라엘 집에 속하였음이니라. | And he said unto me: Thou rememberest the twelve apostles of the Lamb? Behold they are they who shall judge the twelve tribes of Israel; wherefore, the twelve ministers of thy seed shall be judged of them; for ye are of the house of Israel. |
| 니전 12:10 | 또 네가 보는 이 열두 성역자들은 너의 자손들을 심판하리라. 또 보라, 그들은 영원히 의로우니, 이는 하나님의 어린 양을 믿는 그들의 신앙으로 말미암아 그들의 옷이 그의 피로 희게 되었음이니라 하더라. | And these twelve ministers whom thou beholdest shall judge thy seed. And, behold, they are righteous forever; for because of their faith in the Lamb of God their garments are made white in his blood. |
| 니전 12:11 | 또 천사가 내게 일러, 보라 하기로 내가 보고 세 세대가 의로운 가운데 지나감을 보았나니 그들의 옷이 하나님의 어린 양처럼 희더라. 또 천사가 내게 이르되, 이들은 어린 양을 믿는 그 신앙으로 말미암아 어린 양의 피로 희게 된 것이니라 하더라. | And the angel said unto me: Look! And I looked, and beheld three generations pass away in righteousness; and their garments were white even like unto the Lamb of God. And the angel said unto me: These are made white in the blood of the Lamb, because of their faith in him. |
| 니전 12:12 | 또 나 니파이는 또한 네 번째 세대의 많은 이들이 의로운 가운데 지나감을 보았느니라. | And I, Nephi, also saw many of the fourth generation who passed away in righteousness. |
| 니전 12:13 | 또 이렇게 되었나니 내가 본즉 땅의 허다한 무리가 함께 모였더라. | And it came to pass that I saw the multitudes of the earth gathered together. |
| 니전 12:14 | 또 천사가 내게 이르되, 너의 자손들과 네 형제들의 자손들을 보라 하더라. | And the angel said unto me: Behold thy seed, and also the seed of thy brethren. |
| 니전 12:15 | 이에 이렇게 되었나니 내가 보고, 나의 자손들의 백성이 허다한 무리를 이루어 나의 형제들의 자손들을 대적하여 함께 모인 것을 보았나니, 그들은 싸우려고 함께 모였더라. | And it came to pass that I looked and beheld the people of my seed gathered together in multitudes against the seed of my brethren; and they were gathered together to battle. |
| 니전 12:16 | 또 천사가 내게 말하여 이르기를, 너의 부친이 본 더러운 물의 근원을 보라, 곧 그가 말한 강이니 그 깊이는 지옥의 깊이니라. | And the angel spake unto me, saying: Behold the fountain of filthy water which thy father saw; yea, even the river of which he spake; and the depths thereof are the depths of hell. |
| 니전 12:17 | 또 어둠의 안개는 악마의 유혹이니, 이것이 사람의 자녀들의 눈을 멀게 하고, 마음을 완악하게 하여 그들을 넓은 길로 이끌어 낸즉 그들이 멸망하며 잃은 바 되느니라. | And the mists of darkness are the temptations of the devil, which blindeth the eyes, and hardeneth the hearts of the children of men, and leadeth them away into broad roads, that they perish and are lost. |
| 니전 12:18 | 또 너의 부친이 본 크고 넓은 건물은 사람의 자녀들의 헛된 상상과 교만이라. 크고 두려운 심연이 이를 갈라 놓나니, 실로 크고 두려운 심연이란 곧 영원하신 하나님의 공의의 말씀과 세상이 시작된 때로부터 이때까지, 그리고 이때로부터 앞으로 영원토록 성신이 증거하시는 메시야 곧 하나님의 어린 양이시니라. | And the large and spacious building, which thy father saw, is vain imaginations and the pride of the children of men. And a great and a terrible gulf divideth them; yea, even the word of the justice of the Eternal God, and the Messiah who is the Lamb of God, of whom the Holy Ghost beareth record, from the beginning of the world until this time, and from this time henceforth and forever. |
| 니전 12:19 | 또 천사가 이 말을 하는 동안 내가 보니, 천사의 말대로 내 형제들의 자손들이 나의 자손들을 대적하여 다투더라. 또 나의 자손들의 교만과 악마의 유혹으로 인해 나는 나의 형제들의 자손들이 나의 자손들의 백성을 이기는 것을 보았느니라. | And while the angel spake these words, I beheld and saw that the seed of my brethren did contend against my seed, according to the word of the angel; and because of the pride of my seed, and the temptations of the devil, I beheld that the seed of my brethren did overpower the people of my seed. |
| 니전 12:20 | 또 이렇게 되었나니 내가 본즉 나의 형제들의 자손들의 백성이 나의 자손들을 정복하였고, 또 그들은 허다한 무리를 이루어 그 땅의 지면 위에 나아가더라. | And it came to pass that I beheld, and saw the people of the seed of my brethren that they had overcome my seed; and they went forth in multitudes upon the face of the land. |
| 니전 12:21 | 또 내가 보니 그들이 허다한 무리를 이루어 함께 모였더라. 또 내가 보니 그들 가운데 전쟁과 전쟁의 소문이 있더라. 또 내가 보니 전쟁과 전쟁의 소문 가운데 여러 세대가 지나가더라. | And I saw them gathered together in multitudes; and I saw wars and rumors of wars among them; and in wars and rumors of wars I saw many generations pass away. |
| 니전 12:22 | 천사가 또 내게 이르기를, 보라 이들이 믿지 않음에 빠져들리라 하더라. | And the angel said unto me: Behold these shall dwindle in unbelief. |
| 니전 12:23 | 이에 이렇게 되었나니 내가 본즉, 그들이 믿지 않음에 빠져든 후 그들은 게으름과 온갖 가증함이 가득하며 어둡고 혐오스러우며 더러운 백성이 되더라. | And it came to pass that I beheld, after they had dwindled in unbelief they became a dark, and loathsome, and a filthy people, full of idleness and all manner of abominations. |
