소개 야곱이 빌하와 결혼하여 단과 납달리를 낳음. 실바와의 사이에 갓과 아셀을 낳음. 레아는 잇사갈과 스불론과 딸 디나를 낳음. 라헬이 요셉을 낳음. 야곱이 양떼에 대한 대가로 라반을 위해 일함. Jacob marries Bilhah and she bears Dan and Naphtali—He marries Zilpah and she bears Gad and Asher—Leah bears Issachar and Zebulun and a daughter, Dinah—Then Rachel conceives and bears Joseph—Jacob works for Laban for wages of cattle and sheep.
창 30:1 라헬이 자기가 야곱에게서 아들을 낳지 못함을 보고 그의 언니를 시기하여 야곱에게 이르되 내게 자식을 낳게 하라 그렇지 아니하면 내가 죽겠노라 And when Rachel saw that she bare Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister; and said unto Jacob, Give me children, or else I die.
창 30:2 야곱이 라헬에게 성을 내어 이르되 그대를 임신하지 못하게 하시는 이는 하나님이시니 내가 하나님을 대신하겠느냐 And Jacob’s anger was kindled against Rachel: and he said, Am I in God’s stead, who hath withheld from thee the fruit of the womb?
창 30:3 라헬이 이르되 내 여종 빌하에게로 들어가라 그가 아들을 낳아 내 무릎에 두리니 그러면 나도 그로 말미암아 자식을 얻겠노라 하고 And she said, Behold my maid Bilhah, go in unto her; and she shall bear upon my knees, that I may also have children by her.
창 30:4 그의 시녀 빌하를 남편에게 아내로 주매 야곱이 그에게로 들어갔더니 And she gave him Bilhah her handmaid to wife: and Jacob went in unto her.
창 30:5 빌하가 임신하여 야곱에게 아들을 낳은지라 And Bilhah conceived, and bare Jacob a son.
창 30:6 라헬이 이르되 하나님이 내 억울함을 푸시려고 내 호소를 들으사 내게 아들을 주셨다 하고 이로 말미암아 그의 이름을 단이라 하였으며 And Rachel said, God hath judged me, and hath also heard my voice, and hath given me a son: therefore called she his name Dan.
창 30:7 라헬의 시녀 빌하가 다시 임신하여 둘째 아들을 야곱에게 낳으매 And Bilhah Rachel’s maid conceived again, and bare Jacob a second son.
창 30:8 라헬이 이르되 내가 언니와 크게 경쟁하여 이겼다 하고 그의 이름을 납달리라 하였더라 And Rachel said, With great wrestlings have I wrestled with my sister, and I have prevailed: and she called his name Naphtali.
창 30:9 레아가 자기의 출산이 멈춤을 보고 그의 시녀 실바를 데려다가 야곱에게 주어 아내로 삼게 하였더니 When Leah saw that she had left bearing, she took Zilpah her maid, and gave her Jacob to wife.
창 30:10 레아의 시녀 실바가 야곱에게서 아들을 낳으매 And Zilpah Leah’s maid bare Jacob a son.
창 30:11 레아가 이르되 복되도다 하고 그의 이름을 갓이라 하였으며 And Leah said, A troop cometh: and she called his name Gad.
창 30:12 레아의 시녀 실바가 둘째 아들을 야곱에게 낳으매 And Zilpah Leah’s maid bare Jacob a second son.
창 30:13 레아가 이르되 기쁘도다 모든 딸들이 나를 기쁜 자라 하리로다 하고 그의 이름을 아셀이라 하였더라 And Leah said, Happy am I, for the daughters will call me blessed: and she called his name Asher.
창 30:14 밀 거둘 때 르우벤이 나가서 들에서 합환채를 얻어 그의 어머니 레아에게 드렸더니 라헬이 레아에게 이르되 언니의 아들의 합환채를 청구하노라 And Reuben went in the days of wheat harvest, and found mandrakes in the field, and brought them unto his mother Leah. Then Rachel said to Leah, Give me, I pray thee, of thy son’s mandrakes.
창 30:15 레아가 그에게 이르되 네가 내 남편을 빼앗은 것이 작은 일이냐 그런데 네가 내 아들의 합환채도 빼앗고자 하느냐 라헬이 이르되 그러면 언니의 아들의 합환채 대신에 오늘 밤에 내 남편이 언니와 동침하리라 하니라 And she said unto her, Is it a small matter that thou hast taken my husband? and wouldest thou take away my son’s mandrakes also? And Rachel said, Therefore he shall lie with thee to night for thy son’s mandrakes.
창 30:16 저물 때에 야곱이 들에서 돌아오매 레아가 나와서 그를 영접하며 이르되 내게로 들어오라 내가 내 아들의 합환채로 당신을 샀노라 그 밤에 야곱이 그와 동침하였더라 And Jacob came out of the field in the evening, and Leah went out to meet him, and said, Thou must come in unto me; for surely I have hired thee with my son’s mandrakes. And he lay with her that night.
창 30:17 하나님이 레아의 소원을 들으셨으므로 그가 임신하여 다섯째 아들을 야곱에게 낳은지라 And God hearkened unto Leah, and she conceived, and bare Jacob the fifth son.
창 30:18 레아가 이르되 내가 내 시녀를 내 남편에게 주었으므로 하나님이 내게 그 값을 주셨다 하고 그의 이름을 잇사갈이라 하였으며 And Leah said, God hath given me my hire, because I have given my maiden to my husband: and she called his name Issachar.
창 30:19 레아가 다시 임신하여 여섯째 아들을 야곱에게 낳은지라 And Leah conceived again, and bare Jacob the sixth son.
창 30:20 레아가 이르되 하나님이 내게 후한 선물을 주시도다 내가 남편에게 여섯 아들을 낳았으니 이제는 그가 나와 함께 살리라 하고 그의 이름을 스불론이라 하였으며 And Leah said, God hath endued me with a good dowry; now will my husband dwell with me, because I have born him six sons: and she called his name Zebulun.
창 30:21 그 후에 그가 딸을 낳고 그의 이름을 디나라 하였더라 And afterwards she bare a daughter, and called her name Dinah.
창 30:22 하나님이 라헬을 생각하신지라 하나님이 그의 소원을 들으시고 그의 태를 여셨으므로 And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb.
창 30:23 그가 임신하여 아들을 낳고 이르되 하나님이 내 부끄러움을 씻으셨다 하고 And she conceived, and bare a son; and said, God hath taken away my reproach:
창 30:24 그 이름을 요셉이라 하니 여호와는 다시 다른 아들을 내게 더하시기를 원하노라 하였더라 And she called his name Joseph; and said, The LORD shall add to me another son.
창 30:25 라헬이 요셉을 낳았을 때에 야곱이 라반에게 이르되 나를 보내어 내 고향 나의 땅으로 가게 하시되 And it came to pass, when Rachel had born Joseph, that Jacob said unto Laban, Send me away, that I may go unto mine own place, and to my country.
창 30:26 내가 외삼촌에게서 일하고 얻은 처자를 내게 주시어 나로 가게 하소서 내가 외삼촌에게 한 일은 외삼촌이 아시나이다 Give me my wives and my children, for whom I have served thee, and let me go: for thou knowest my service which I have done thee.
창 30:27 라반이 그에게 이르되 여호와께서 너로 말미암아 내게 복 주신 줄을 내가 깨달았노니 네가 나를 사랑스럽게 여기거든 그대로 있으라 And Laban said unto him, I pray thee, if I have found favour in thine eyes, tarry: for I have learned by experience that the LORD hath blessed me for thy sake.
창 30:28 또 이르되 네 품삯을 정하라 내가 그것을 주리라 And he said, Appoint me thy wages, and I will give it.
창 30:29 야곱이 그에게 이르되 내가 어떻게 외삼촌을 섬겼는지, 어떻게 외삼촌의 가축을 쳤는지 외삼촌이 아시나이다 And he said unto him, Thou knowest how I have served thee, and how thy cattle was with me.
창 30:30 내가 오기 전에는 외삼촌의 소유가 적더니 번성하여 떼를 이루었으니 내 발이 이르는 곳마다 여호와께서 외삼촌에게 복을 주셨나이다 그러나 나는 언제나 내 집을 세우리이까 For it was little which thou hadst before I came, and it is now increased unto a multitude; and the LORD hath blessed thee since my coming: and now when shall I provide for mine own house also?
창 30:31 라반이 이르되 내가 무엇으로 네게 주랴 야곱이 이르되 외삼촌께서 내게 아무것도 주시지 않아도 나를 위하여 이 일을 행하시면 내가 다시 외삼촌의 양 떼를 먹이고 지키리이다 And he said, What shall I give thee? And Jacob said, Thou shalt not give me any thing: if thou wilt do this thing for me, I will again feed and keep thy flock.
