소개 야곱이 그의 아들들과 후손들을 축복함. 르우벤, 시므온, 레위는 징계를 받을것이요, 유다는 실로(그리스도)가 오실때까지 통치할 것이요. 요셉은 샘곁의 무성한 가지임. 그 가지(니파이인들과 레이맨인들)가 담을 넘음. 목자요 이스라엘의 반석(그리스도)이 요셉을 물질적으로도 영적으로도 축복하심. 야곱은 조상들과 함께 가나안땅에 묻히길 원함. 야곱의 죽음. Jacob blesses his sons and their seed—Reuben, Simeon, and Levi are chastened—Judah shall bear rule until Shiloh (Christ) comes—Joseph is a fruitful bough by a well—His branches (the Nephites and the Lamanites) to run over the wall—The Shepherd and Stone of Israel (Christ) shall bless Joseph temporally and spiritually—Jacob chooses to be buried with his fathers in Canaan—He yields up the ghost and is gathered to his people.
창 49:1 야곱이 그 아들들을 불러 이르되 너희는 모이라 너희가 후일에 당할 일을 내가 너희에게 이르리라 And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days.
창 49:2 너희는 모여 들으라 야곱의 아들들아 너희 아버지 이스라엘에게 들을지어다 Gather yourselves together, and hear, ye sons of Jacob; and hearken unto Israel your father.
창 49:3 르우벤아 너는 내 장자요 내 능력이요 내 기력의 시작이라 위풍이 월등하고 권능이 탁월하다마는 Reuben, thou art my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power:
창 49:4 물의 끓음 같았은즉 너는 탁월하지 못하리니 네가 아버지의 침상에 올라 더럽혔음이로다 그가 내 침상에 올랐었도다 Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel; because thou wentest up to thy father’s bed; then defiledst thou it: he went up to my couch.
창 49:5 시므온과 레위는 형제요 그들의 칼은 폭력의 도구로다 Simeon and Levi are brethren; instruments of cruelty are in their habitations.
창 49:6 내 혼아 그들의 모의에 상관하지 말지어다 내 영광아 그들의 집회에 참여하지 말지어다 그들이 그들의 분노대로 사람을 죽이고 그들의 혈기대로 소의 발목 힘줄을 끊었음이로다 O my soul, come not thou into their secret; unto their assembly, mine honour, be not thou united: for in their anger they slew a man, and in their selfwill they digged down a wall.
창 49:7 그 노여움이 혹독하니 저주를 받을 것이요 분기가 맹렬하니 저주를 받을 것이라 내가 그들을 야곱 중에서 나누며 이스라엘 중에서 흩으리로다 Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce; and their wrath, for it was cruel: I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel.
창 49:8 유다야 너는 네 형제의 찬송이 될지라 네 손이 네 원수의 목을 잡을 것이요 네 아버지의 아들들이 네 앞에 절하리로다 Judah, thou art he whom thy brethren shall praise: thy hand shall be in the neck of thine enemies; thy father’s children shall bow down before thee.
창 49:9 유다는 사자 새끼로다 내 아들아 너는 움킨 것을 찢고 올라갔도다 그가 엎드리고 웅크림이 수사자 같고 암사자 같으니 누가 그를 범할 수 있으랴 Judah is a lion’s whelp: from the prey, my son, thou art gone up: he stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as an old lion; who shall rouse him up?
창 49:10 규가 유다를 떠나지 아니하며 통치자의 지팡이가 그 발 사이에서 떠나지 아니하기를 실로가 오시기까지 이르리니 그에게 모든 백성이 복종하리로다 The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.
창 49:11 그의 나귀를 포도나무에 매며 그의 암나귀 새끼를 아름다운 포도나무에 맬 것이며 또 그 옷을 포도주에 빨며 그의 복장을 포도즙에 빨리로다 Binding his foal unto the vine, and his ass’s colt unto the choice vine; he washed his garments in wine, and his clothes in the blood of grapes:
창 49:12 그의 눈은 포도주로 인하여 붉겠고 그의 이는 우유로 말미암아 희리로다 His eyes shall be red with wine, and his teeth white with milk.
창 49:13 스불론은 해변에 거주하리니 그 곳은 배 매는 해변이라 그의 경계가 시돈까지리로다 Zebulun shall dwell at the haven of the sea; and he shall be for an haven of ships; and his border shall be unto Zidon.
창 49:14 잇사갈은 양의 우리 사이에 꿇어앉은 건장한 나귀로다 Issachar is a strong ass couching down between two burdens:
창 49:15 그는 쉴 곳을 보고 좋게 여기며 토지를 보고 아름답게 여기고 어깨를 내려 짐을 메고 압제 아래에서 섬기리로다 And he saw that rest was good, and the land that it was pleasant; and bowed his shoulder to bear, and became a servant unto tribute.
창 49:16 단은 이스라엘의 한 지파 같이 그의 백성을 심판하리로다 Dan shall judge his people, as one of the tribes of Israel.
창 49:17 단은 길섶의 뱀이요 샛길의 독사로다 말굽을 물어서 그 탄 자를 뒤로 떨어지게 하리로다 Dan shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path, that biteth the horse heels, so that his rider shall fall backward.
창 49:18 여호와여 나는 주의 구원을 기다리나이다 I have waited for thy salvation, O LORD.
창 49:19 갓은 군대의 추격을 받으나 도리어 그 뒤를 추격하리로다 Gad, a troop shall overcome him: but he shall overcome at the last.
창 49:20 아셀에게서 나는 먹을 것은 기름진 것이라 그가 왕의 수라상을 차리리로다 Out of Asher his bread shall be fat, and he shall yield royal dainties.
창 49:21 납달리는 놓인 암사슴이라 아름다운 소리를 발하는도다 Naphtali is a hind let loose: he giveth goodly words.
창 49:22 요셉은 무성한 가지 곧 샘 곁의 무성한 가지라 그 가지가 담을 넘었도다 Joseph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well; whose branches run over the wall:
창 49:23 활쏘는 자가 그를 학대하며 적개심을 가지고 그를 쏘았으나 The archers have sorely grieved him, and shot at him, and hated him:
창 49:24 요셉의 활은 도리어 굳세며 그의 팔은 힘이 있으니 이는 야곱의 전능자 이스라엘의 반석인 목자의 손을 힘입음이라 But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:)
창 49:25 네 아버지의 하나님께로 말미암나니 그가 너를 도우실 것이요 전능자로 말미암나니 그가 네게 복을 주실 것이라 위로 하늘의 복과 아래로 깊은 샘의 복과 젖먹이는 복과 태의 복이리로다 Even by the God of thy father, who shall help thee; and by the Almighty, who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lieth under, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb:
창 49:26 네 아버지의 축복이 내 선조의 축복보다 나아서 영원한 산이 한 없음 같이 이 축복이 요셉의 머리로 돌아오며 그 형제 중 뛰어난 자의 정수리로 돌아오리로다 The blessings of thy father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors unto the utmost bound of the everlasting hills: they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren.
창 49:27 베냐민은 물어뜯는 이리라 아침에는 빼앗은 것을 먹고 저녁에는 움킨 것을 나누리로다 Benjamin shall ravin as a wolf: in the morning he shall devour the prey, and at night he shall divide the spoil.
창 49:28 이들은 이스라엘의 열두 지파라 이와 같이 그들의 아버지가 그들에게 말하고 그들에게 축복하였으니 곧 그들 각 사람의 분량대로 축복하였더라 All these are the twelve tribes of Israel: and this is it that their father spake unto them, and blessed them; every one according to his blessing he blessed them.
창 49:29 그가 그들에게 명하여 이르되 내가 내 조상들에게로 돌아가리니 나를 헷 사람 에브론의 밭에 있는 굴에 우리 선조와 함께 장사하라 And he charged them, and said unto them, I am to be gathered unto my people: bury me with my fathers in the cave that is in the field of Ephron the Hittite,
창 49:30 이 굴은 가나안 땅 마므레 앞 막벨라 밭에 있는 것이라 아브라함이 헷 사람 에브론에게서 밭과 함께 사서 그의 매장지를 삼았으므로 In the cave that is in the field of Machpelah, which is before Mamre, in the land of Canaan, which Abraham bought with the field of Ephron the Hittite for a possession of a buryingplace.
창 49:31 아브라함과 그의 아내 사라가 거기 장사되었고 이삭과 그의 아내 리브가도 거기 장사되었으며 나도 레아를 그 곳에 장사하였노라 There they buried Abraham and Sarah his wife; there they buried Isaac and Rebekah his wife; and there I buried Leah.
창 49:32 이 밭과 거기 있는 굴은 헷 사람에게서 산 것이니라 The purchase of the field and of the cave that is therein was from the children of Heth.
창 49:33 야곱이 아들에게 명하기를 마치고 그 발을 침상에 모으고 숨을 거두니 그의 백성에게로 돌아갔더라 And when Jacob had made an end of commanding his sons, he gathered up his feet into the bed, and yielded up the ghost, and was gathered unto his people.
