 And it came to pass that his father did build up many cities upon the face of the land, and the people began again to spread over all the face of the land. And Shez did live to an exceedingly old age; and he begat Riplakish. And he died, and Riplakish reigned in his stead.  10:4.그리하여 그의 부친은 온 땅에 많은 성읍을 지었고 백성들은 온 땅에 퍼져 살았으며, 셰즈가 오래 살며 만년에 리플레이키시를 낳고 죽으매 리플레이키시가 그 뒤를 이었고,

 And it came to pass that Riplakish did not do that which was right in the sight of the Lord, for he did have many wives and concubines, and did lay that upon men's shoulders which was grievous to be borne; yea, he did tax them with heavy taxes; and with the taxes he did build many spacious buildings.  10:5.리플레이키시가 주가 보시기에 합당한 일을 행치 아니하여 많은 처와 첩을 거느렸고, 백성들에게 가혹한 짐을 지게 하며 과중한 세금을 부과하여 그 세금으로 넓고 호화로운 집들을 많이 지었으며,

 And he did erect him an exceedingly beautiful throne; and he did build many prisons, and whoso would not be subject unto taxes he did cast into prison; and whoso was not able to pay taxes he did cast into prison; and he did cause that they should labor continually for their support; and whoso refused to labor he did cause to be put to death.  10:6.또 제 자신을 위하여 호화로운 왕좌를 만들게 하였고, 감옥을 지어 세금을 내지 못하는 자와 자기에게 복종하여 세금을 내려 하지 않는 자는 모두 옥에 가두었으며, 백성들로 쉬지 않고 노동하여 생계를 잇게 하며 이를 거부하는 자는 사형에 처하였더라.

 Wherefore he did obtain all his fine work, yea, even his fine gold he did cause to be refined in prison; and all manner of fine workmanship he did cause to be wrought in prison. And it came to pass that he did afflict the people with his whoredoms and abominations.  10:7.그리하여 저는 자기의 영화를 얻으며 감옥 안에서도 좋은 금을 정제하여 온갖 정묘한 세공품을 만들게 하였고 거의 온갖 음행과 가증한 일로 백성들을 괴롭혔더라.

 And when he had reigned for the space of forty and two years the people did rise up in rebellion against him; and there began to be war again in the land, insomuch that Riplakish was killed, and his descendants were driven out of the land.  10:8.그가 다스리기 시작한 사십 이년째 해에 백성들이 저에게 반란을 일으키매 땅에는 다시 전쟁이 일며 마침내 리플레이키시는 죽임을 당하였고 그 자손들은 그곳에서 쫓겨났으며,

 And after that he had established himself king he did ease the burden of the people, by which he did gain favor in the eyes of the people, and they did anoint him to be their king.  10:10.저가 스스로 왕이 된 후에 백성들의 고난을 덜어주매 이 일로 백성들의 환심을 얻으니 백성들이 저를 왕으로 기름부었더라.

 And he did do justice unto the people, but not unto himself because of his many whoredoms; wherefore he was cut off from the presence of the Lord.  10:11.그는 백성들에게는 의를 베풀었으나 저 스스로는 그러하지 아니하였으니 곧 많은 음행을 행하였음이라. 그리하여 그는 주의 면전에서 쫓겨나게 되었느니라.

 And it came to pass that Morianton built up many cities, and the people became exceedingly rich under his reign, both in buildings, and in gold and silver, and in raising grain, and in flocks, and herds, and such things which had been restored unto them.  10:12.모리앤톤이 많은 성읍을 지었고 그가 다스리는 동안 백성들이 심히 부유하여 큰 건물과 금은 등이 풍성하였고 곡식과 가축과 양떼가 늘어나 저들에게 넉넉하였으며,

And Morianton did live to an exceedingly great age, and then he begat Kim; and Kim did reign in the stead of his father; and he did reign eight years, and his father died. And it came to pass that Kim did not reign in righteousness, wherefore he was not favored of the Lord.

 And after he had obtained unto himself the kingdom he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord; and the people did prosper in the land; and he did live to a good old age, and begat sons and daughters; and he also begat Corom, whom he anointed king in his stead.  10:16.저가 왕국을 얻고 나서는 주가 보시기에 합당한 일을 행한지라 백성들은 그 땅에서 번성하였으며, 저가 오래 살며 아들과 딸을 낳더니, 코롬을 낳아 저에게 기름을 부어 자기를 이을 왕이 되게 하니라.

 And it came to pass that Corom did that which was good in the sight of the Lord all his days; and he begat many sons and daughters; and after he had seen many days he did pass away, even like unto the rest of the earth; and Kish reigned in his stead.  10:17.코롬이 또한 평생을 두고 주가 보시기에 합당한 일을 행하였고, 많은 아들과 딸을 낳았으며, 오래 살다가 세상 사람들이 모두 가는 길을 따라 죽으매 키시가 그 뒤를 이어 다스렸느니라.

 And it came to pass that Kish passed away also, and Lib reigned in his stead.  10:18.키시가 또한 죽은 뒤에는 리브가 그 뒤를 이으니라.
이더 10:19 또 이렇게 되었나니 리브가 또한 주가 보시기에 선한 일을 행하였고, 리브의 시대에 독사가 진멸되었더라. 그리하여 그들이 그 땅의 백성을 위하여 먹을 것을 사냥하러 남방 땅으로 갔으니, 이는 그 땅이 수풀의 짐승들로 뒤덮였음이라. 또한 리브 자신도 큰 사냥꾼이 되었더라.

 

 And it came to pass that Lib also did that which was good in the sight of the Lord. And in the days of Lib the poisonous serpents were destroyed. Wherefore they did go into the land southward, to hunt food for the people of the land, for the land was covered with animals of the forest. And Lib also himself became a great hunter.  10:19.이에 리브가 또한 주가 보시기에 합당한 일을 행하였고, 리브가 살아 있는 중에 독이 무서운 독사가 진멸되었느니라. 그리하여 저들은 남방으로 나아가 먹을 것을 사냥하였으니, 남방 땅에 들짐승이 많았음이라. 리브 자신도 훌륭한 사냥군이 되었느니라.
이더 10:20 또 그들은 바다가 육지를 나누는 곳 근방, 좁은 지협 근방에 한 큰 성읍을 건축하였더라.

 

 And they built a great city by the narrow neck of land, by the place where the sea divides the land.  10:20.저들은 바다로 인해 육지가 나뉘는 그 땅의 좁은 지협에 많은 성읍을 세웠으며,
이더 10:21 또 남방 땅은 사냥감을 얻기 위하여 광야로 보존하였고, 북방 땅은 온 지면이 주민들로 뒤덮였더라.

 

 And they did preserve the land southward for a wilderness, to get game. And the whole face of the land northward was covered with inhabitants.  10:21.남방 땅은 광야로 보존해 두어 먹이를 얻는 사냥터가 되게 하였고, 북쪽 땅은 모두 주민으로 가득하게 되었고,

 And they were exceedingly industrious, and they did buy and sell and traffic one with another, that they might get gain.  10:22.저들은 매우 부지런하였으며, 서로 자유로이 왕래하며 사고 팔면서 이익을 얻었고,

 And they did work in all manner of ore, and they did make gold, and silver, and iron, and brass, and all manner of metals; and they did dig it out of the earth; wherefore, they did cast up mighty heaps of earth to get ore, of gold, and of silver, and of iron, and of copper. And they did work all manner of fine work.  10:23.여러 광석을 다루는 일에 능하여 금, 은, 철, 놋쇠 등 온갖 철을 땅에서 캐내었으며, 그리하여 저들은 금, 은, 철, 구리 등의 광석을 얻고자 땅을 헤쳐 파헤친 흙이 큰 산을 이루었고, 저들은 온갖 정묘한 일을 행하였으며,
이더 10:24 또 그들에게는 비단과 세마포가 있었으며, 그들은 옷을 입어 그들의 벌거벗음을 가리우고자 온갖 옷감을 만들었더라.

 

 And they did have silks, and fine-twined linen; and they did work all manner of cloth, that they might clothe themselves from their nakedness.  10:24.저들은 비단과 잘 짠 세마포를 가졌고, 온갖 옷감을 만들어 벗은 몸을 가리었고,
이더 10:25 또 땅을 경작하기 위한 온갖 도구, 곧 땅을 갈고 씨를 뿌리며 거두며 김을 매며, 또한 타작을 하기 위한 온갖 도구를 만들었더라.

 

 And they did make all manner of tools to till the earth, both to plow and to sow, to reap and to hoe, and also to thrash.  10:25.땅을 갈며 도랑을 내며 씨를 뿌리며 곡식을 베어 들이며 괭이질을 하며 타작을 할 수 있는 온갖 도구를 만들었으며,
이더 10:26 또 온갖 도구를 만들어 그것을 가지고 그들의 짐승을 부렸더라.

 

 And they did make all manner of tools with which they did work their beasts.  10:26.짐승을 부려 일하는데 필요한 온갖 도구를 만들었고,
이더 10:27 또 그들은 온갖 전쟁 무기를 제조하고, 심히 정교한 솜씨의 온갖 물품을 만들었더라.

 

 And they did make all manner of weapons of war. And they did work all manner of work of exceedingly curious workmanship.  10:27.온갖 전쟁 무기를 제조하였으니, 이 밖에도 극히 기묘한 솜씨로 온갖 것들을 만들어 내었느니라.
이더 10:28 그들보다 더 복을 받고 또 주의 손으로 더 번영하게 하심을 입은 백성이 있을 수 없었더라. 또 그들은 모든 땅 위에 뛰어난 땅에 있었으니 이는 주께서 그리 말씀하셨음이니라.

 

 And never could be a people more blessed than were they, and more prospered by the hand of the Lord. And they were in a land that was choice above all lands, for the Lord had spoken it.  10:28.이제 이들보다 더 축복받은 자가 없었고 주가 이들보다 더욱 번영케 하신 일이 없었느니라. 또한 이들은 주가 말씀하신 대로 모든 땅 중에서 가장 으뜸되는 땅에 살았느니라.
이더 10:29 이에 이렇게 되었나니 리브가 많은 해를 살며 아들과 딸을 낳았으며, 그가 또한 히아아돔을 낳았더라.

 

 And it came to pass that Lib did live many years, and begat sons and daughters; and he also begat Hearthom.  10:29.리브는 여러해를 살았고 아들과 딸을 낳았으며, 히아아돔을 낳았더라.

 And it came to pass that Hearthom reigned in the stead of his father. And when Hearthom had reigned twenty and four years, behold, the kingdom was taken away from him. And he served many years in captivity, yea, even all the remainder of his days.  10:30.그리하여 히아아돔이 그 부친의 뒤를 이었고, 히아아돔이 이십 사년을 다스리고 나서, 보라 저가 왕국을 빼앗겨 남은 생애를 모두 속박되어 지냈고,

And Heth begat Aaron, and Aaron dwelt in captivity all his days; and he begat Amnigaddah, and Amnigaddah also dwelt in captivity all his days; and he begat Coriantum, and Coriantum dwelt in captivity all his days; and he begat Com.  10:31.헷을 낳으니, 헷은 전생을 모두 속박된 중에 지내면서 아론을 낳았으며, 아론도 평생을 속박되어 지내며 앰니개다를 낳았고, 앰니개다도 평생을 속박되어 지내며 코리앤툼을 낳았고, 코리앤툼도 그의 평생을 속박되어 지내며 곰을 낳았느니라.

 And it came to pass that Com drew away the half of the kingdom. And he reigned over the half of the kingdom forty and two years; and he went to battle against the king, Amgid, and they fought for the space of many years, during which time Com gained power over Amgid, and obtained power over the remainder of the kingdom.  10:32.곰이 그 왕국의 반을 찾아 사십 이년 동안 왕국의 반을 다스렸고, 저가 앰기드 왕을 대적하여 치매 싸움이 여러 해를 계속하였고, 이 싸움에서 곰이 앰기드를 물리쳐 나머지 왕국도 자기 권세에 넣었느니라.
이더 10:33 또 콤의 시대에 그 땅에 도적들이 생겼으니, 그들이 옛 계획을 받아들여, 고대인들의 방식을 좇아 맹세를 하고, 나라를 멸하기를 다시 꾀하더라.

 

 And in the days of Com there began to be robbers in the land; and they adopted the old plans, and administered oaths after the manner of the ancients, and sought again to destroy the kingdom.  10:33.그러나 곰의 시대에 그 땅에 도적떼가 일기 시작하여, 옛 음모를 다시 꾸미며 옛 사람들의 맹약을 다시 나누어 왕국의 전복을 꾀하는지라,
이더 10:34 이제 콤이 그들을 대적하여 많이 싸웠으나, 그럼에도 불구하고 그들을 쳐서 이기지 못하였더라.

 

 Now Com did fight against them much; nevertheless, he did not prevail against them.  10:34.곰이 저들을 대적하여 싸우나 저들을 몰아내지 못하였느니라.
