소개 에브라임과 수리아가 유다를 대적하여 전쟁을 벌임 - 그리스도는 한 처녀에게서 태어날 것임 - 이사야 7장과 비교하라. 주전 559~545년경. Ephraim and Syria wage war against Judah—Christ shall be born of a virgin—Compare Isaiah 7. [Between 559 and 545 B.C.]
니후 17:1 그리고 이렇게 되었나니 웃시야의 아들인 요담의 아들 유다 왕 아하스 때에, 수리아의 왕 르신과 르말리야의 아들 이스라엘 왕 베가가 예루살렘을 향하여 올라가서 그것을 대적하여 싸웠으나 능히 이기지 못하니라. And it came to pass in the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, that Rezin, king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, went up toward Jerusalem to war against it, but could not prevail against it.
니후 17:2 혹이 다윗의 집에 고하여 이르기를, 수리아가 에브라임과 동맹하였다 하는지라. 그의 마음과 그의 백성의 마음이 숲의 나무들이 바람에 흔들림같이 흔들렸느니라. And it was told the house of David, saying: Syria is confederate with Ephraim. And his heart was moved, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the wood are moved with the wind.
니후 17:3 그때에 주께서 이사야에게 이르시되, 너와 네 아들 스알야숩은 이제 나아가 세탁자의 밭 큰 길에 있는 윗 못 수로 끝에서 아하스를 만나, Then said the Lord unto Isaiah: Go forth now to meet Ahaz, thou and Shearjashub thy son, at the end of the conduit of the upper pool in the highway of the fuller's field;
니후 17:4 그리고 그에게 이르기를 삼가며 조용하라. 이 연기 나는 부지깽이 두 꼬리로 인하여 수리아가 함께 한 르신과 르말리야의 아들의 맹렬한 노여움으로 인하여 두려워 말며 약하게 되지 말라. And say unto him: Take heed, and be quiet; fear not, neither be faint-hearted for the two tails of these smoking firebrands, for the fierce anger of Rezin with Syria, and of the son of Remaliah.
니후 17:5 수리아와 에브라임과 르말리야의 아들이 너를 대적하여 악한 꾀를 내어 이르기를, Because Syria, Ephraim, and the son of Remaliah, have taken evil counsel against thee, saying:
니후 17:6 우리가 올라가 유다를 쳐서 그를 괴롭게 하고, 우리를 위하여 그를 파하고 그 가운데 한 왕을 세우자, 바로 다브엘의 아들이라 하였으므로, Let us go up against Judah and vex it, and let us make a breach therein for us, and set a king in the midst of it, yea, the son of Tabeal.
니후 17:7 이같이 주 하나님께서 말씀하시느니라, 그 꾀가 서지 못하며 이루지도 못하리라. Thus saith the Lord God: It shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass.
니후 17:8 이는 수리아의 머리는 다메섹이요, 다메섹의 머리는 르신이며, 육십 오 년 내에 에브라임이 깨어져 백성이 되지 못할 것임이라. For the head of Syria is Damascus, and the head of Damascus, Rezin; and within three score and five years shall Ephraim be broken that it be not a people.
니후 17:9 또 에브라임의 머리는 사마리아요, 사마리아의 머리는 르말리야의 아들이라. 만일 너희가 믿지 않을진대 정녕 굳게 서지 못하리라 하셨다 할지니라. And the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliah's son. If ye will not believe surely ye shall not be established.
니후 17:10 더욱이 주께서 다시 아하스에게 일러 이르시되, Moreover, the Lord spake again unto Ahaz, saying:
니후 17:11 너는 주 네 하나님께 한 가지 표적을 구하라. 그것을 깊은 데서든지 아니면 위로 높은 데서 구하라. Ask thee a sign of the Lord thy God; ask it either in the depths, or in the heights above.
니후 17:12 그러나 아하스가 이르되, 나는 구하지 아니하겠으며 나는 주를 시험하지도 아니하겠나이다 한지라. But Ahaz said: I will not ask, neither will I tempt the Lord.
니후 17:13 이에 그가 이르되, 다윗의 집이여, 너희는 이제 들을지어다. 너희가 사람을 괴롭게 함이 작은 일이기에 오히려 나의 하나님 역시 괴롭히려 하려느냐? And he said: Hear ye now, O house of David; is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will ye weary my God also?
니후 17:14 그러므로 주께서 친히 너희에게 한 가지 표적을 주시리라 - 보라 처녀가 잉태하여 아들을 낳을 것이요, 그 이름을 임마누엘이라 하리라. Therefore, the Lord himself shall give you a sign-Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and shall bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
니후 17:15 버터와 꿀을 그가 먹을 것이요, 그리하여 그가 악을 버리며 선을 택할 줄 알게 되리니, Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil and to choose the good.
니후 17:16 이는 그 아이가 악을 버리며 선을 택할 줄 알기 전에 네가 미워하는 땅이 두 왕에게서 버림을 받을 것임이라. For before the child shall know to refuse the evil and choose the good, the land that thou abhorrest shall be forsaken of both her kings.
니후 17:17 주께서 에브라임이 유다에게서 떠나던 날로부터 이르지 아니한 날들을 네 위에, 그리고 네 백성 위에, 그리고 네 아버지의 집에 임하게 하시리니 곧 앗수르 왕이라. The Lord shall bring upon thee, and upon thy people, and upon thy father's house, days that have not come from the day that Ephraim departed from Judah, the king of Assyria.
니후 17:18 또 그 날에 이같이 되리니, 주께서 휘파람 소리로 애굽의 맨 끝에 있는 파리와 앗수르 땅에 있는 벌을 부르시리라. And it shall come to pass in that day that the Lord shall hiss for the fly that is in the uttermost part of Egypt, and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria.
니후 17:19 이에 그것들이 와서는 그것들 모두가 황폐한 골짜기에, 바위틈에와, 모든 가시나무 위에와 모든 덤불위에 앉으리라. And they shall come, and shall rest all of them in the desolate valleys, and in the holes of the rocks, and upon all thorns, and upon all bushes.
니후 17:20 그 같은 날에 주께서는 세내어 온 삭도를 가지시고, 하수 저편에 있는 자들로 앗수르 왕으로 그 머리와 발의 털을 미시리니, 그것이 수염도 소멸하리라. In the same day shall the Lord shave with a razor that is hired, by them beyond the river, by the king of Assyria, the head, and the hair of the feet; and it shall also consume the beard.
니후 17:21 또 그 날에 이렇게 되리니, 한 사람이 어린 암소 하나와 양 둘을 기를 것이며, And it shall come to pass in that day, a man shall nourish a young cow and two sheep;
니후 17:22 또 이렇게 되리니 그것들이 내는 젖이 많으므로 그가 버터를 먹을 것이라. 이는 그 땅에 남은 자들이 모두 버터와 꿀을 먹을 것임이니라. And it shall come to pass, for the abundance of milk they shall give he shall eat butter; for butter and honey shall every one eat that is left in the land.
니후 17:23 또 그 날에 이렇게 되리니 천 주에 은 천 개 하던 포도나무가 있던 곳마다, 찔레와 가시가 나는 곳이 될 것이라. And it shall come to pass in that day, every place shall be, where there were a thousand vines at a thousand silverlings, which shall be for briers and thorns.
니후 17:24 화살과 활을 가지고 사람들이 그리로 오리니, 온 땅이 찔레와 가시가 될 것으로 인함이라. With arrows and with bows shall men come thither, because all the land shall become briers and thorns.
니후 17:25 또 곡괭이로 일구어질 모든 산, 그리로는 찔레와 가시의 두려움이 오지 아니하리니, 그것은 소를 보내며 작은 가축이 밟는 곳이 되리라. And all hills that shall be digged with the mattock, there shall not come thither the fear of briers and thorns; but it shall be for the sending forth of oxen, and the treading of lesser cattle.
