니후 32:1 또 이제, 보라, 나의 사랑하는 형제들아, 내가 짐작컨대 너희는 길로 말미암아 들어선 후에 너희가 해야 할 바에 관하여 어느 정도 너희 마음에 깊이 생각하고 있도다. 그러나 보라, 어찌하여 너희는 이 일을 너희 마음에 깊이 생각하느냐? And now, behold, my beloved brethren, I suppose that ye ponder somewhat in your hearts concerning that which ye should do after ye have entered in by the way. But, behold, why do ye ponder these things in your hearts?
니후 32:2 너희가 성신을 받은 후에는 천사의 방언으로 말할 수 있으리라고 내가 너희에게 이른 것을 너희가 기억하지 못하느냐? 또 이제 성신으로 말미암지 않고서 너희가 어찌 천사의 방언으로 말할 수 있으리요? Do ye not remember that I said unto you that after ye had received the Holy Ghost ye could speak with the tongue of angels? And now, how could ye speak with the tongue of angels save it were by the Holy Ghost?
니후 32:3 천사들은 성신의 권능으로 말하나니, 그러므로 그들은 그리스도의 말씀을 말하는도다. 이러므로 내가 너희에게 이르기를, 그리스도의 말씀을 흡족히 취하라 하였노니, 이는 보라, 그리스도의 말씀은 너희가 무엇을 행하여야 할지 모든 것을 너희에게 일러 주심이니라. Angels speak by the power of the Holy Ghost; wherefore, they speak the words of Christ. Wherefore, I said unto you, feast upon the words of Christ; for behold, the words of Christ will tell you all things what ye should do.
니후 32:4 그런즉 이제 내가 이 말을 한 후에, 만일 너희가 이를 깨달을 수 없다면, 이는 너희가 구하지 아니하고 두드리지도 아니하는 때문일 것이라. 그런즉 너희는 빛 가운데로 인도되지 못하고 어둠 속에서 기필코 멸망하리로다. Wherefore, now after I have spoken these words, if ye cannot understand them it will be because ye ask not, neither do ye knock; wherefore, ye are not brought into the light, but must perish in the dark.
니후 32:5 이는 보라, 거듭 내가 너희에게 이르노니, 만일 너희가 길로 말미암아 들어서고 성신을 받으면, 그것은 너희가 무엇을 행하여야 할지 모든 것을 너희에게 보여 줄 것임이라. For behold, again I say unto you that if ye will enter in by the way, and receive the Holy Ghost, it will show unto you all things what ye should do.
니후 32:6 보라, 이는 그리스도의 교리요, 그가 육체로 너희에게 자기를 나타내실 때까지 더 이상의 교리가 주어지지 아니하리라. 또 그가 육체로 너희에게 자기를 나타내실 때, 그가 너희에게 이르시는 것을 너희는 지켜 행할지니라. Behold, this is the doctrine of Christ, and there will be no more doctrine given until after he shall manifest himself unto you in the flesh. And when he shall manifest himself unto you in the flesh, the things which he shall say unto you shall ye observe to do.
니후 32:7 그리고 이제 나 니파이는 더 말할 수 없노라. 영이 나의 말함을 그치게 하시나니, 나는 홀로 사람들의 믿지 않음과 사악함과 무지와 목의 뻣뻣함으로 인하여 애통해 하게 되었도다. 이는 명백한 중에, 곧 말로 표현할 수 있는 한 가장 명백하게 그들에게 지식이 주어졌을 때, 그들이 이를 찾으려 하지 아니하며 위대한 지식을 깨달으려 하지 아니함이라. And now I, Nephi, cannot say more; the Spirit stoppeth mine utterance, and I am left to mourn because of the unbelief, and the wickedness, and the ignorance, and the stiffneckedness of men; for they will not search knowledge, nor understand great knowledge, when it is given unto them in plainness, even as plain as word can be.
니후 32:8 또 이제 나의 사랑하는 형제들아, 내가 보니 너희가 아직 너희 마음에 깊이 생각하고 있으매, 이 일에 관하여 내가 말해야만 함이 나를 슬프게 하는도다. 이는 만일 너희가 사람에게 기도하도록 가르치는 영에게 귀 기울일진대, 너희가 기도하지 않으면 안 된다는 것을 알 것임이라. 이는 악한 영은 사람에게 기도하도록 가르치지 아니하고, 도리어 사람에게 기도하면 안 된다고 가르침이니라. And now, my beloved brethren, I perceive that ye ponder still in your hearts; and it grieveth me that I must speak concerning this thing. For if ye would hearken unto the Spirit which teacheth a man to pray ye would know that ye must pray; for the evil spirit teacheth not a man to pray, but teacheth him that he must not pray.
니후 32:9 그러나 보라, 내가 너희에게 이르노니, 너희는 항상 기도하고 낙망치 말아야 하며, 너희는 먼저 그리스도의 이름으로 아버지께 기도하지 아니하고는, 주를 위해 아무것도 행하지 말아야 하느니라. 그리하면 그가 너의 행함이 네 영혼의 복리를 위한 것이 되도록, 너의 행함을 너를 위해 성별하시리로다. But behold, I say unto you that ye must pray always, and not faint; that ye must not perform any thing unto the Lord save in the first place ye shall pray unto the Father in the name of Christ, that he will consecrate thy performance unto thee, that thy performance may be for the welfare of thy soul.
