소개 이새의 줄기(그리스도)가 의 가운데 심판할 것임 -복천년 때에 하나님의 지식이 땅을 덮을 것임 - 주께서 기호를 세우시고 이스라엘을 모으실 것임 - 이사야 11장과 비교하라. 주전 559~545년경. Stem of Jesse (Christ) shall judge in righteousness—The knowledge of God shall cover the earth in the Millennium—The Lord shall raise an ensign and gather Israel—Compare Isaiah 11. 니후 21:1 그리고 이새의 줄기에서 한 어린 가지가 나올 것이며, 그의 뿌리에서 한 가지가 자라날 것이라. And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a branch shall grow out of his roots.
니후 21:2 주의 영이 그의 위에 머무시리니, 지혜와 총명의 영이요, 모략과 능력의 영이요, 지식과 또 주를 경외하는 영이라. And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord;
니후 21:3 또 그로 주를 경외하는 가운데 속히 깨닫게 하시리니, 그가 그 눈에 보이는 대로 판단하지 아니할 것이며, 그 귀에 들리는 대로 꾸짖지 아니하리라. And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the Lord; and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears.
니후 21:4 그러나 의로써 가난한 자를 심판하시고, 공평으로 땅의 온유한 자를 위하여 공평으로 책망하실 것이며, 또 그가 그 입의 막대기로 땅을 치실 것이며, 또 그 입술의 호흡으로 악인을 죽이시리라. But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth; and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.
니후 21:5 또 의는 그 허리의 띠가 되며, 성실은 그 몸의 띠가 되리라. And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.
니후 21:6 이리가 또한 어린 양과 함께 거할 것이며, 표범이 어린 염소와 함께 누울 것이며, 송아지와 어린 사자와 살진 짐승이 함께 할 것이며, 어린아이가 그들을 인도할 것이라. The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid, and the calf and the young lion and fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
니후 21:7 또 암소와 곰이 먹을 것이요, 그들의 어린 것들이 함께 누울 것이며, 사자가 소처럼 짚을 먹을 것이라. And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
니후 21:8 또 젖 먹는 아이가 독사의 구멍에서 놀며, 젖 뗀 아이가 독사의 굴에 그 손을 댈 것이라. And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice's den.
니후 21:9 나의 거룩한 산 모든 곳에서 그들이 해하거나 멸하지 아니하리니, 이는 물이 바다를 덮음같이 주를 아는 지식이 땅에 충만할 것임이니라. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.
니후 21:10 또 그 날에 이새의 뿌리가 있어 백성의 기호로 설 것이라. 이를 이방인들이 구하리니 그의 안식이 영화로우리라. And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek; and his rest shall be glorious.
니후 21:11 또 그 날에 이렇게 되리니 주께서 두 번째로 그의 손을 다시 펴사, 남아 있을 그의 백성의 남은 자들을 앗수르에서, 그리고 애굽에서, 그리고 바드로스에서, 그리고 구스에서, 그리고 엘람에서, 그리고 시날에서, 그리고 하맛에서, 그리고 바다의 섬들에서 도로 찾으실 것이니라. And it shall come to pass in that day that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.
니후 21:12 또 그가 열방을 위하여 기호를 세우시고, 이스라엘의 쫓겨난 자들을 모으시며, 유다의 흩어진 자들을 땅 사방에서 함께 모으시리라. And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.
니후 21:13 에브라임의 시기가 또한 떠나겠고, 유다의 대적들은 끊어질 것이며, 에브라임은 유다를 시기하지 않겠고, 유다는 에브라임을 괴롭히지 아니할 것이라. The envy of Ephraim also shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off; Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim.
니후 21:14 오히려 그들은 서쪽을 향하여 블레셋 사람의 어깨 위에 날고, 함께 동쪽에 있는 자들을 노략할 것이며, 그들이 에돔과 모압에 그 손을 대리니, 암몬의 자손들이 그들에게 복종하리라. But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines towards the west; they shall spoil them of the east together; they shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey them.
니후 21:15 또 주께서 애굽 바다의 혀를 온전히 멸하시리니, 그의 강한 바람을 가지시고 그 손을 강 위에 흔들어 그것을 쳐서 일곱 갈래가 되게 하사, 사람이 마른 신으로 건너가게 하시리라. And the Lord shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his mighty wind he shall shake his hand over the river, and shall smite it in the seven streams, and make men go over dry shod.
니후 21:16 또 남아 있을 그의 백성의 남은 자들을 위하여, 대로가 앗수르에서부터 있으리니, 마치 이스라엘이 애굽 땅에서 나와 올라오던 날, 이스라엘에게 그러하였던 것과 같으리라. And there shall be a highway for the remnant of his people which shall be left, from Assyria, like as it was to Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.
