And so it was done, according to the words of Nephi. And there was a great famine upon the land, among all the people of Nephi. And this work of destruction did also continue in the seventy and fifth year. For the earth was smitten that it was dry, and did not yield forth grain in the season of grain; and the whole earth was smitten, even among the Lamanites as well as among the Nephites, so that they were smitten that they did perish by thousands in the more wicked parts of the land. | 11:6.이 파멸은 치세 칠십 오년에도 역시 계속되어, 메마르고 땅이 황폐하는지라 레이맨인들도 니파이인들과 같이 고난을 당하였으니 더욱 간악하던 땅에서 수천이 죽으니라. |

O Lord, thou didst hearken unto my words when I said, Let there be a famine, that the pestilence of the sword might cease; and I know that thou wilt, even at this time, hearken unto my words, for thou saidst that: If this people repent I will spare them. | 11:14.오 주님이시여, 전에 당신께서 저의 간구를 들으시어 검의 파멸을 멎게 하시고 기근을 내리셨은즉, 이번에도 저의 간구를 들으실 것을 아오니, 당신께서 가라사대 만일 이 백성이 회개할진대 이들을 구하리라, 하셨음이오니이다. |

Yea, O Lord, and thou seest that they have repented, because of the famine and the pestilence and destruction which has come unto them. | 11:15.오 주님이시여, 이제 저들을 친 기근과 역병과 패망으로 인하여 저들이 회개하였음을 당신께서 보셨사오니, |
| 힐 11:16 | 또한 이제 주여, 주의 진노를 돌이키시고, 그들이 주를 섬기는지 다시 시험하지 아니하시겠나이까? 또 만일 그들이 그리하면, 주여, 주께서 하신 말씀대로 주께서 그들에게 복을 주실 수 있나이다 하였느니라. |

And now, O Lord, wilt thou turn away thine anger, and try again if they will serve thee? And if so, O Lord, thou canst bless them according to thy words which thou hast said. | 11:16.오 주님이시여, 당신의 진노를 거두시고 저들이 다시 주를 섬기는지를 시험하지 아니하시겠나이까? 또한 주님이시여, 저들이 당신을 섬길진대 정녕코 당신께서는 이르신 말씀대로 저 백성들을 축복하시리이다 하니라. |

And it came to pass that in the seventy and sixth year the Lord did turn away his anger from the people, and caused that rain should fall upon the earth, insomuch that it did bring forth her fruit in the season of her fruit. And it came to pass that it did bring forth her grain in the season of her grain. | 11:17.치세 칠십 육년에 주는 백성들에게서 진노를 거두시고 땅에 비를 주신지라, 다시 절기대로 열매를 맺었고, 절기마다 소산의 곡식을 거두게 되었으니, |

And thus it did come to pass that the people of Nephi began to prosper again in the land, and began to build up their waste places, and began to multiply and spread, even until they did cover the whole face of the land, both on the northward and on the southward, from the sea west to the sea east. | 11:20.이같이 하여 니파이의 백성들은 또다시 땅에서 번영하며, 허물어진 곳을 쌓아 올리며, 크게 번성하여 넓게 퍼짐에 동서 남 북으로 온 땅에 널리 퍼지게 되었느니라. |

And it came to pass that the seventy and sixth year did end in peace. And the seventy and seventh year began in peace; and the church did spread throughout the face of all the land; and the more part of the people, both the Nephites and the Lamanites, did belong to the church; and they did have exceedingly great peace in the land; and thus ended the seventy and seventh year. | 11:21.그리하여 치세 칠십 육년이 화평스러웠고 칠십 칠년도 평화로우매 온 땅에 교회가 널리 퍼져 니파이인이든 레이맨인이든 더욱 많은 사람들이 교회에 속하게 되었으며, 땅이 지극히 화평한 중에 칠십 칠년이 끝났고, |

And in the seventy and ninth year there began to be much strife. But it came to pass that Nephi and Lehi, and many of their brethren who knew concerning the true points of doctrine, having many revelations daily, therefore they did preach unto the people, insomuch that they did put an end to their strife in that same year. | 11:23.치세 칠십 구년에 이르러 그 다툼이 증대하였으되, 가르침의 참된 뜻을 아는 니파이와 리하이와 그 밖에 많은 형제들이 날로 많은 계시를 받아 백성들에게 전하여 가르친지라, 그해에 다툼은 종말을 맺었느니라. |

And it came to pass that in the eightieth year of the reign of the judges over the people of Nephi, there were a certain number of the dissenters from the people of Nephi, who had some years before gone over unto the Lamanites, and taken upon themselves the name of Lamanites, and also a certain number who were real descendants of the Lamanites, being stirred up to anger by them, or by those dissenters, therefore they commenced a war with their brethren. | 11:24.니파이 백성들의 판사치세 팔십년에 이르러, 여러 해 전에 니파이 백성들에게서 떨어져 나가 레이맨인들에게로 가서 스스로 레이맨인으로 행세하던 무리와, 이 무리의 책동으로 노여움을 품게 된 레이맨인들의 몇몇 무리가 저들의 동포를 대적하여 싸움을 벌리기 시작하였으니, |

And they did commit murder and plunder; and then they would retreat back into the mountains, and into the wilderness and secret places, hiding themselves that they could not be discovered, receiving daily an addition to their numbers, inasmuch as there were dissenters that went forth unto them. | 11:25.이들은 살인과 약탈을 자행하며, 산이나 광야나 그 밖의 은밀한 처소에 돌아가 몸을 숨기는지라 발각되지 아니하였고, 모반의 무리가 저들에게로 나아가 합세 하매 그 수효가 늘어 났더라. |

And thus in time, yea, even in the space of not many years, they became an exceedingly great band of robbers; and they did search out all the secret plans of Gadianton; and thus they became robbers of Gadianton. | 11:26.그리하여 채 몇 해가 지나지 않아 어마어마한 대 도적단이 되어, 개다이앤톤의 온갖 은밀한 결사를 좇더니 마침내 개다이앤톤 도적단이 되었느니라. |

And it came to pass that it was expedient that there should be a stop put to this work of destruction; therefore they sent an army of strong men into the wilderness and upon the mountains to search out this band of robbers, and to destroy them. | 11:28.이러한 난동을 막아야 함이 시급하다 하여 강한 군대를 산과 광야로 보내어 도적단을 잡아 멸하게 하였으나, |

But behold, it came to pass that in that same year they were driven back even into their own lands. And thus ended the eightieth year of the reign of the judges over the people of Nephi. | 11:29.보라, 그 해에 저들이 도적단들에게 쫓겨 저들의 땅으로 돌아왔고, 니파이 백성들의 판사치세 팔십년이 끝나더라. |

And they were again obliged to return out of the wilderness and out of the mountains unto their own lands, because of the exceeding greatness of the numbers of those robbers who infested the mountains and the wilderness. | 11:31.산과 광야에 출몰하는 도적들이 심히 많은지라, 또다시 산과 광야로부터 저들의 땅으로 돌아오지 아니할 수 없었느니라. |

And the robbers did still increase and wax strong, insomuch that they did defy the whole armies of the Nephites, and also of the Lamanites; and they did cause great fear to come unto the people upon all the face of the land. | 11:32.이같이 하여 그 해도 저물었으나 도적의 무리는 여전히 늘어나고 강해져서 니파이인과 레이맨인을 합친 전 군대도 겁내지 아니하였으며, 온 땅의 백성들에게 덤벼들 기세로 크게 위협하였고, |

Yea, for they did visit many parts of the land, and did do great destruction unto them; yea, did kill many, and did carry away others captive into the wilderness, yea, and more especially their women and their children. | 11:33.이미 여러 곳에 침입하여 크게 해를 입혔으니, 많은 자를 학살하고, 사로잡아 광야로 끌어 갔으며 부녀자들에게 더욱 잔혹하게 하였더라. |
| 힐 11:34 | 이제 백성들의 죄악으로 인하여 그들에게 임한 이 큰 악이, 그들을 다시 일깨워 주 그들의 하나님을 기억하게 하였더라. |

Now this great evil, which came unto the people because of their iniquity, did stir them up again in remembrance of the Lord their God. | 11:34.이같이 참혹한 일을 당함이 오직 저들의 간악함으로 인함이었으매, 또다시 저들을 깨우쳐 주 저희 하나님을 기억하게 하니라. |
| 힐 11:35 | 그리고 이같이 판사 치세 제팔십일년이 끝났느니라. |

And thus ended the eighty and first year of the reign of the judges. | 11:35.판사치세 팔십 일년이 이같이 끝나, |
| 힐 11:36 | 그리고 제팔십이년에 그들은 또다시 주 그들의 하나님을 잊기 시작하더라. 그리고 제팔십삼년에는 그들의 죄악이 점점 굳어지기 시작하였더라. 그리고 제팔십사년에는 그들이 그들의 길을 고치지 아니하더라. |

And in the eighty and second year they began again to forget the Lord their God. And in the eighty and third year they began to wax strong in iniquity. And in the eighty and fourth year they did not mend their ways. | 11:36.팔십 이년이 이르매 저들은 다시 주 저희 하나님을 잊기 시작하여, 팔십 삼년에는 간악함이 크게 부풀었고, 팔십 사년에도 그 행악을 고치지 아니하여, |
| 힐 11:37 | 이에 이렇게 되었나니 제팔십오년에는 그들의 교만과 그들의 간악함이 점차 더더욱 굳어졌고, 이로써 그들의 멸망은 또다시 무르익고 있었더라. |

And it came to pass in the eighty and fifth year they did wax stronger and stronger in their pride, and in their wickedness; and thus they were ripening again for destruction. | 11:37.팔십 오년에는 교만과 간악함이 더욱 더 굳어져서 또다시 멸망이 무르익었으며, |
