| 소개 | 욥의 대답. “지혜와 권능이 하나님께 있고 모략과 명철도 그에게 속하였나니....” | Job says: The souls of all things are in the hands of the Lord; and, With the ancient is wisdom; and, The Lord governs in all things. |

| 욥 12:1 | 욥이 대답하여 이르되 | And Job answered and said, |

| 욥 12:2 | 너희만 참으로 백성이로구나 너희가 죽으면 지혜도 죽겠구나 | No doubt but ye are the people, and wisdom shall die with you. |

| 욥 12:3 | 나도 너희 같이 생각이 있어 너희만 못하지 아니하니 그같은 일을 누가 알지 못하겠느냐 | But I have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you: yea, who knoweth not such things as these? |

| 욥 12:4 | 하나님께 불러 아뢰어 들으심을 입은 내가 이웃에게 웃음거리가 되었으니 의롭고 온전한 자가 조롱거리가 되었구나 | I am as one mocked of his neighbour, who calleth upon God, and he answereth him: the just upright man is laughed to scorn. |

| 욥 12:5 | 평안한 자의 마음은 재앙을 멸시하나 재앙이 실족하는 자를 기다리는구나 | He that is ready to slip with his feet is as a lamp despised in the thought of him that is at ease. |

| 욥 12:6 | 강도의 장막은 형통하고 하나님을 진노하게 하는 자는 평안하니 하나님이 그의 손에 후히 주심이니라 | The tabernacles of robbers prosper, and they that provoke God are secure; into whose hand God bringeth abundantly. |

| 욥 12:7 | 이제 모든 짐승에게 물어 보라 그것들이 네게 가르치리라 공중의 새에게 물어 보라 그것들이 또한 네게 말하리라 | But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee: |

| 욥 12:8 | 땅에게 말하라 네게 가르치리라 바다의 고기도 네게 설명하리라 | Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee. |

| 욥 12:9 | 이것들 중에 어느 것이 여호와의 손이 이를 행하신 줄을 알지 못하랴 | Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the LORD hath wrought this? |

| 욥 12:10 | 모든 생물의 생명과 모든 사람의 육신의 목숨이 다 그의 손에 있느니라 | In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind. |

| 욥 12:11 | 입이 음식의 맛을 구별함 같이 귀가 말을 분간하지 아니하느냐 | Doth not the ear try words? and the mouth taste his meat? |

| 욥 12:12 | 늙은 자에게는 지혜가 있고 장수하는 자에게는 명철이 있느니라 | With the ancient is wisdom; and in length of days understanding. |

| 욥 12:13 | 지혜와 권능이 하나님께 있고 계략과 명철도 그에게 속하였나니 | With him is wisdom and strength, he hath counsel and understanding. |

| 욥 12:14 | 그가 헐으신즉 다시 세울 수 없고 사람을 가두신즉 놓아주지 못하느니라 | Behold, he breaketh down, and it cannot be built again: he shutteth up a man, and there can be no opening. |
|
| 욥 12:15 | 그가 물을 막으신즉 곧 마르고 물을 보내신즉 곧 땅을 뒤집나니 | Behold, he withholdeth the waters, and they dry up: also he sendeth them out, and they overturn the earth. |

| 욥 12:16 | 능력과 지혜가 그에게 있고 속은 자와 속이는 자가 다 그에게 속하였으므로 | With him is strength and wisdom: the deceived and the deceiver are his. |

| 욥 12:17 | 모사를 벌거벗겨 끌어 가시며 재판장을 어리석은 자가 되게 하시며 | He leadeth counsellors away spoiled, and maketh the judges fools. |
|
| 욥 12:18 | 왕들이 맨 것을 풀어 그들의 허리를 동이시며 | He looseth the bond of kings, and girdeth their loins with a girdle. |

| 욥 12:19 | 제사장들을 벌거벗겨 끌어 가시고 권력이 있는 자를 넘어뜨리시며 | He leadeth princes away spoiled, and overthroweth the mighty. |
|
| 욥 12:20 | 충성된 사람들의 말을 물리치시며 늙은 자들의 판단을 빼앗으시며 | He removeth away the speech of the trusty, and taketh away the understanding of the aged. |
|
| 욥 12:21 | 귀인들에게 멸시를 쏟으시며 강한 자의 띠를 푸시며 | He poureth contempt upon princes, and weakeneth the strength of the mighty. |
|
| 욥 12:22 | 어두운 가운데에서 은밀한 것을 드러내시며 죽음의 그늘을 광명한 데로 나오게 하시며 | He discovereth deep things out of darkness, and bringeth out to light the shadow of death. |
|
| 욥 12:23 | 민족들을 커지게도 하시고 다시 멸하기도 하시며 민족들을 널리 퍼지게도 하시고 다시 끌려가게도 하시며 | He increaseth the nations, and destroyeth them: he enlargeth the nations, and straiteneth them again. |
|
| 욥 12:24 | 만민의 우두머리들의 총명을 빼앗으시고 그들을 길 없는 거친 들에서 방황하게 하시며 | He taketh away the heart of the chief of the people of the earth, and causeth them to wander in a wilderness where there is no way. |
|
| 욥 12:25 | 빛 없이 캄캄한 데를 더듬게 하시며 취한 사람 같이 비틀거리게 하시느니라 | They grope in the dark without light, and he maketh them to stagger like a drunken man. |
