소개 사람의 연약함과 무지가 하나님의 크신 업적에 비유됨. 자연의 섭리가 어떻게 운영되는가 하는 질문. Man’s weakness and ignorance compared with God’s mighty works—Does man even know how the laws of nature operate?

 
욥 39:1 산 염소가 새끼 치는 때를 네가 아느냐 암사슴이 새끼 낳는 것을 네가 본 적이 있느냐 Knowest thou the time when the wild goats of the rock bring forth? or canst thou mark when the hinds do calve?

 
욥 39:2 그것이 몇 달 만에 만삭되는지 아느냐 그 낳을 때를 아느냐 Canst thou number the months that they fulfil? or knowest thou the time when they bring forth?

 
욥 39:3 그것들은 몸을 구푸리고 새끼를 낳으니 그 괴로움이 지나가고 They bow themselves, they bring forth their young ones, they cast out their sorrows.

 
욥 39:4 그 새끼는 강하여져서 빈 들에서 크다가 나간 후에는 다시 돌아오지 아니하느니라 Their young ones are in good liking, they grow up with corn; they go forth, and return not unto them.

 
욥 39:5 누가 들나귀를 놓아 자유롭게 하였느냐 누가 빠른 나귀의 매인 것을 풀었느냐 Who hath sent out the wild ass free? or who hath loosed the bands of the wild ass?

 
욥 39:6 내가 들을 그것의 집으로, 소금 땅을 그것이 사는 처소로 삼았느니라 Whose house I have made the wilderness, and the barren land his dwellings.

 
욥 39:7 들나귀는 성읍에서 지껄이는 소리를 비웃나니 나귀 치는 사람이 지르는 소리는 그것에게 들리지 아니하며 He scorneth the multitude of the city, neither regardeth he the crying of the driver.

 
욥 39:8 초장 언덕으로 두루 다니며 여러 가지 푸른 풀을 찾느니라 The range of the mountains is his pasture, and he searcheth after every green thing.

 
욥 39:9 들소가 어찌 기꺼이 너를 위하여 일하겠으며 네 외양간에 머물겠느냐 Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib?

 
욥 39:10 네가 능히 줄로 매어 들소가 이랑을 갈게 하겠느냐 그것이 어찌 골짜기에서 너를 따라 써레를 끌겠느냐 Canst thou bind the unicorn with his band in the furrow? or will he harrow the valleys after thee?

 
욥 39:11 그것이 힘이 세다고 네가 그것을 의지하겠느냐 네 수고를 그것에게 맡기겠느냐 Wilt thou trust him, because his strength is great? or wilt thou leave thy labour to him?

 
욥 39:12 그것이 네 곡식을 집으로 실어 오며 네 타작 마당에 곡식 모으기를 그것에게 의탁하겠느냐 Wilt thou believe him, that he will bring home thy seed, and gather it into thy barn?

 
욥 39:13 타조는 즐거이 날개를 치나 학의 깃털과 날개 같겠느냐 Gavest thou the goodly wings unto the peacocks? or wings and feathers unto the ostrich?

 
욥 39:14 그것이 알을 땅에 버려두어 흙에서 더워지게 하고 Which leaveth her eggs in the earth, and warmeth them in dust,

 
욥 39:15 발에 깨어질 것이나 들짐승에게 밟힐 것을 생각하지 아니하고 And forgetteth that the foot may crush them, or that the wild beast may break them.

 
욥 39:16 그 새끼에게 모질게 대함이 제 새끼가 아닌 것처럼 하며 그 고생한 것이 헛되게 될지라도 두려워하지 아니하나니 She is hardened against her young ones, as though they were not hers: her labour is in vain without fear;

 
욥 39:17 이는 하나님이 지혜를 베풀지 아니하셨고 총명을 주지 아니함이라 Because God hath deprived her of wisdom, neither hath he imparted to her understanding.

 
욥 39:18 그러나 그것이 몸을 떨쳐 뛰어갈 때에는 말과 그 위에 탄 자를 우습게 여기느니라 What time she lifteth up herself on high, she scorneth the horse and his rider.

 
욥 39:19 말의 힘을 네가 주었느냐 그 목에 흩날리는 갈기를 네가 입혔느냐 Hast thou given the horse strength? hast thou clothed his neck with thunder?

 
욥 39:20 네가 그것으로 메뚜기처럼 뛰게 하였느냐 그 위엄스러운 콧소리가 두려우니라 Canst thou make him afraid as a grasshopper? the glory of his nostrils is terrible.

 
욥 39:21 그것이 골짜기에서 발굽질하고 힘 있음을 기뻐하며 앞으로 나아가서 군사들을 맞되 He paweth in the valley, and rejoiceth in his strength: he goeth on to meet the armed men.

 
욥 39:22 두려움을 모르고 겁내지 아니하며 칼을 대할지라도 물러나지 아니하니 He mocketh at fear, and is not affrighted; neither turneth he back from the sword.

 
욥 39:23 그의 머리 위에서는 화살통과 빛나는 창과 투창이 번쩍이며 The quiver rattleth against him, the glittering spear and the shield.

 
욥 39:24 땅을 삼킬 듯이 맹렬히 성내며 나팔 소리에 머물러 서지 아니하고 He swalloweth the ground with fierceness and rage: neither believeth he that it is the sound of the trumpet.

 
욥 39:25 나팔 소리가 날 때마다 힝힝 울며 멀리서 싸움 냄새를 맡고 지휘관들의 호령과 외치는 소리를 듣느니라 He saith among the trumpets, Ha, ha; and he smelleth the battle afar off, the thunder of the captains, and the shouting.

 
욥 39:26 매가 떠올라서 날개를 펼쳐 남쪽으로 향하는 것이 어찌 네 지혜로 말미암음이냐 Doth the hawk fly by thy wisdom, and stretch her wings toward the south?

 
욥 39:27 독수리가 공중에 떠서 높은 곳에 보금자리를 만드는 것이 어찌 네 명령을 따름이냐 Doth the eagle mount up at thy command, and make her nest on high?

 
욥 39:28 그것이 낭떠러지에 집을 지으며 뾰족한 바위 끝이나 험준한 데 살며 She dwelleth and abideth on the rock, upon the crag of the rock, and the strong place.

 
욥 39:29 거기서 먹이를 살피나니 그 눈이 멀리 봄이며 From thence she seeketh the prey, and her eyes behold afar off.

 
욥 39:30 그 새끼들도 피를 빠나니 시체가 있는 곳에는 독수리가 있느니라 Her young ones also suck up blood: and where the slain are, there is she.
