소개 엘리바스가 악인의 불안한 상태에 관해서 이야기 함. 악인들은 암흑가운데서 돌아와 부활하게 될것을 믿지 않음. Eliphaz sets forth the disquietude of wicked men—They do not believe they shall return out of darkness and be resurrected.

 
욥 15:1 데만 사람 엘리바스가 대답하여 이르되 Then answered Eliphaz the Temanite, and said,

 
욥 15:2 지혜로운 자가 어찌 헛된 지식으로 대답하겠느냐 어찌 동풍을 그의 복부에 채우겠느냐 Should a wise man utter vain knowledge, and fill his belly with the east wind?

 
욥 15:3 어찌 도움이 되지 아니하는 이야기, 무익한 말로 변론하겠느냐 Should he reason with unprofitable talk? or with speeches wherewith he can do no good?

 
욥 15:4 참으로 네가 하나님 경외하는 일을 그만두어 하나님 앞에 묵도하기를 그치게 하는구나 Yea, thou castest off fear, and restrainest prayer before God.

 
욥 15:5 네 죄악이 네 입을 가르치나니 네가 간사한 자의 혀를 좋아하는구나 For thy mouth uttereth thine iniquity, and thou choosest the tongue of the crafty.

 
욥 15:6 너를 정죄한 것은 내가 아니요 네 입이라 네 입술이 네게 불리하게 증언하느니라 Thine own mouth condemneth thee, and not I: yea, thine own lips testify against thee.

 
욥 15:7 네가 제일 먼저 난 사람이냐 산들이 있기 전에 네가 출생하였느냐 Art thou the first man that was born? or wast thou made before the hills?

 
욥 15:8 하나님의 오묘하심을 네가 들었느냐 지혜를 홀로 가졌느냐 Hast thou heard the secret of God? and dost thou restrain wisdom to thyself?

 
욥 15:9 네가 아는 것을 우리가 알지 못하는 것이 무엇이냐 네가 깨달은 것을 우리가 소유하지 못한 것이 무엇이냐 What knowest thou, that we know not? what understandest thou, which is not in us?

 
욥 15:10 우리 중에는 머리가 흰 사람도 있고 연로한 사람도 있고 네 아버지보다 나이가 많은 사람도 있느니라 With us are both the grayheaded and very aged men, much elder than thy father.

 
욥 15:11 하나님의 위로와 은밀하게 하시는 말씀이 네게 작은 것이냐 Are the consolations of God small with thee? is there any secret thing with thee?

 
욥 15:12 어찌하여 네 마음에 불만스러워하며 네 눈을 번뜩거리며 Why doth thine heart carry thee away? and what do thy eyes wink at,

 
욥 15:13 네 영이 하나님께 분노를 터뜨리며 네 입을 놀리느냐 That thou turnest thy spirit against God, and lettest such words go out of thy mouth?

 
욥 15:14 사람이 어찌 깨끗하겠느냐 여인에게서 난 자가 어찌 의롭겠느냐 What is man, that he should be clean? and he which is born of a woman, that he should be righteous?

 
욥 15:15 하나님은 거룩한 자들을 믿지 아니하시나니 하늘이라도 그가 보시기에 부정하거든 Behold, he putteth no trust in his saints; yea, the heavens are not clean in his sight.

 
욥 15:16 하물며 악을 저지르기를 물 마심 같이 하는 가증하고 부패한 사람을 용납하시겠느냐 How much more abominable and filthy is man, which drinketh iniquity like water?

 
욥 15:17 내가 네게 보이리니 내게서 들으라 내가 본 것을 설명하리라 I will shew thee, hear me; and that which I have seen I will declare;

 
욥 15:18 이는 곧 지혜로운 자들이 전하여 준 것이니 그들의 조상에게서 숨기지 아니하였느니라 Which wise men have told from their fathers, and have not hid it:

 
욥 15:19 이 땅은 그들에게만 주셨으므로 외인은 그들 중에 왕래하지 못하였느니라 Unto whom alone the earth was given, and no stranger passed among them.

 
욥 15:20 그 말에 이르기를 악인은 그의 일평생에 고통을 당하며 포악자의 햇수는 정해졌으므로 The wicked man travaileth with pain all his days, and the number of years is hidden to the oppressor.

 
욥 15:21 그의 귀에는 무서운 소리가 들리고 그가 평안할 때에 멸망시키는 자가 그에게 이르리니 A dreadful sound is in his ears: in prosperity the destroyer shall come upon him.

 
욥 15:22 그가 어두운 데서 나오기를 바라지 못하고 칼날이 숨어서 기다리느니라 He believeth not that he shall return out of darkness, and he is waited for of the sword.

 
욥 15:23 그는 헤매며 음식을 구하여 이르기를 어디 있느냐 하며 흑암의 날이 가까운 줄을 스스로 아느니라 He wandereth abroad for bread, saying, Where is it? he knoweth that the day of darkness is ready at his hand.

 
욥 15:24 환난과 역경이 그를 두렵게 하며 싸움을 준비한 왕처럼 그를 쳐서 이기리라 Trouble and anguish shall make him afraid; they shall prevail against him, as a king ready to the battle.

 
욥 15:25 이는 그의 손을 들어 하나님을 대적하며 교만하여 전능자에게 힘을 과시하였음이니라 For he stretcheth out his hand against God, and strengtheneth himself against the Almighty.

 
욥 15:26 그는 목을 세우고 방패를 들고 하나님께 달려드니 He runneth upon him, even on his neck, upon the thick bosses of his bucklers:

 
욥 15:27 그의 얼굴에는 살이 찌고 허리에는 기름이 엉기었고 Because he covereth his face with his fatness, and maketh collops of fat on his flanks.

 
욥 15:28 그는 황폐한 성읍, 사람이 살지 아니하는 집, 돌무더기가 될 곳에 거주하였음이니라 And he dwelleth in desolate cities, and in houses which no man inhabiteth, which are ready to become heaps.

 
욥 15:29 그는 부요하지 못하고 재산이 보존되지 못하고 그의 소유가 땅에서 증식되지 못할 것이라 He shall not be rich, neither shall his substance continue, neither shall he prolong the perfection thereof upon the earth.

 
욥 15:30 어두운 곳을 떠나지 못하리니 불꽃이 그의 가지를 말릴 것이라 하나님의 입김으로 그가 불려가리라 He shall not depart out of darkness; the flame shall dry up his branches, and by the breath of his mouth shall he go away.

 
욥 15:31 그가 스스로 속아 허무한 것을 믿지 아니할 것은 허무한 것이 그의 보응이 될 것임이라 Let not him that is deceived trust in vanity: for vanity shall be his recompence.

 
욥 15:32 그의 날이 이르기 전에 그 일이 이루어질 것인즉 그의 가지가 푸르지 못하리니 It shall be accomplished before his time, and his branch shall not be green.

 
욥 15:33 포도 열매가 익기 전에 떨어짐 같고 감람 꽃이 곧 떨어짐 같으리라 He shall shake off his unripe grape as the vine, and shall cast off his flower as the olive.

 
욥 15:34 경건하지 못한 무리는 자식을 낳지 못할 것이며 뇌물을 받는 자의 장막은 불탈 것이라 For the congregation of hypocrites shall be desolate, and fire shall consume the tabernacles of bribery.

 
욥 15:35 그들은 재난을 잉태하고 죄악을 낳으며 그들의 뱃속에 속임을 준비하느니라 They conceive mischief, and bring forth vanity, and their belly prepareth deceit.
