소개 엘리후가 욥과 세명의 친구들에게 노를 발함. “사람의 속에는 심령이 있고, 전능자의 기운이 사람에게 총명을 주시나니, 대인이라고 지혜로운 것이 아니요, 노인이라고 공의를 깨닫는 것이 아니라.” Elihu, in anger, answers Job and his three friends—He says: There is a spirit in man, and the inspiration of the Almighty gives understanding; also, Great men are not always wise.

 
욥 32:1 욥이 자신을 의인으로 여기므로 그 세 사람이 말을 그치니 So these three men ceased to answer Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes.

 
욥 32:2 람 종족 부스 사람 바라겔의 아들 엘리후가 화를 내니 그가 욥에게 화를 냄은 욥이 하나님보다 자기가 의롭다 함이요 Then was kindled the wrath of Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the kindred of Ram: against Job was his wrath kindled, because he justified himself rather than God.

 
욥 32:3 또 세 친구에게 화를 냄은 그들이 능히 대답하지 못하면서도 욥을 정죄함이라 Also against his three friends was his wrath kindled, because they had found no answer, and yet had condemned Job.

 
욥 32:4 엘리후는 그들의 나이가 자기보다 여러 해 위이므로 욥에게 말하기를 참고 있다가 Now Elihu had waited till Job had spoken, because they were elder than he.

 
욥 32:5 세 사람의 입에 대답이 없음을 보고 화를 내니라 When Elihu saw that there was no answer in the mouth of these three men, then his wrath was kindled.

 
욥 32:6 부스 사람 바라겔의 아들 엘리후가 대답하여 이르되 나는 연소하고 당신들은 연로하므로 뒷전에서 나의 의견을 감히 내놓지 못하였노라 And Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite answered and said, I am young, and ye are very old; wherefore I was afraid, and durst not shew you mine opinion.

 
욥 32:7 내가 말하기를 나이가 많은 자가 말할 것이요 연륜이 많은 자가 지혜를 가르칠 것이라 하였노라 I said, Days should speak, and multitude of years should teach wisdom.

 
욥 32:8 그러나 사람의 속에는 영이 있고 전능자의 숨결이 사람에게 깨달음을 주시나니 But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.

 
욥 32:9 어른이라고 지혜롭거나 노인이라고 정의를 깨닫는 것이 아니니라 Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment.

 
욥 32:10 그러므로 내가 말하노니 내 말을 들으라 나도 내 의견을 말하리라 Therefore I said, Hearken to me; I also will shew mine opinion.

 
욥 32:11 보라 나는 당신들의 말을 기다렸노라 당신들의 슬기와 당신들의 말에 귀 기울이고 있었노라 Behold, I waited for your words; I gave ear to your reasons, whilst ye searched out what to say.

 
욥 32:12 내가 자세히 들은즉 당신들 가운데 욥을 꺾어 그의 말에 대답하는 자가 없도다 Yea, I attended unto you, and, behold, there was none of you that convinced Job, or that answered his words:

 
욥 32:13 당신들이 말하기를 우리가 진상을 파악했으나 그를 추궁할 자는 하나님이시요 사람이 아니라 하지 말지니라 Lest ye should say, We have found out wisdom: God thrusteth him down, not man.

 
욥 32:14 그가 내게 자기 이론을 제기하지 아니하였으니 나도 당신들의 이론으로 그에게 대답하지 아니하리라 Now he hath not directed his words against me: neither will I answer him with your speeches.

 
욥 32:15 그들이 놀라서 다시 대답하지 못하니 할 말이 없음이었더라 They were amazed, they answered no more: they left off speaking.

 
욥 32:16 당신들이 말 없이 가만히 서서 다시 대답하지 아니한즉 내가 어찌 더 기다리랴 When I had waited, (for they spake not, but stood still, and answered no more;)

 
욥 32:17 나는 내 본분대로 대답하고 나도 내 의견을 보이리라 I said, I will answer also my part, I also will shew mine opinion.

 
욥 32:18 내 속에는 말이 가득하니 내 영이 나를 압박함이니라 For I am full of matter, the spirit within me constraineth me.

 
욥 32:19 보라 내 배는 봉한 포도주통 같고 터지게 된 새 가죽 부대 같구나 Behold, my belly is as wine which hath no vent; it is ready to burst like new bottles.

 
욥 32:20 내가 말을 하여야 시원할 것이라 내 입을 열어 대답하리라 I will speak, that I may be refreshed: I will open my lips and answer.

 
욥 32:21 나는 결코 사람의 낯을 보지 아니하며 사람에게 영광을 돌리지 아니하리니 Let me not, I pray you, accept any man’s person, neither let me give flattering titles unto man.

 
욥 32:22 이는 아첨할 줄을 알지 못함이라 만일 그리하면 나를 지으신 이가 속히 나를 데려가시리로다 For I know not to give flattering titles; in so doing my maker would soon take me away.
