소개 엘리후가 사람의 악행과 하나님의 권세를 비교함. “네가 범죄한들 하나님께 무슨 영향이 있겠으며....네가 의로운들 하나님께 무엇을 드리겠으며....” Elihu contrasts weakness of man and the power of God—Our wickedness hurts other men, and our righteousness helps them—Man should trust in the Lord.

 
욥 35:1 엘리후가 말을 이어 이르되 Elihu spake moreover, and said,

 
욥 35:2 그대는 이것을 합당하게 여기느냐 그대는 그대의 의가 하나님께로부터 왔다는 말이냐 Thinkest thou this to be right, that thou saidst, My righteousness is more than God’s?

 
욥 35:3 그대는 그것이 내게 무슨 소용이 있으며 범죄하지 않는 것이 내게 무슨 유익이 있겠느냐고 묻지마는 For thou saidst, What advantage will it be unto thee? and, What profit shall I have, if I be cleansed from my sin?

 
욥 35:4 내가 그대와 및 그대와 함께 있는 그대의 친구들에게 대답하리라 I will answer thee, and thy companions with thee.

 
욥 35:5 그대는 하늘을 우러러보라 그대보다 높이 뜬 구름을 바라보라 Look unto the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds which are higher than thou.

 
욥 35:6 그대가 범죄한들 하나님께 무슨 영향이 있겠으며 그대의 악행이 가득한들 하나님께 무슨 상관이 있겠으며 If thou sinnest, what doest thou against him? or if thy transgressions be multiplied, what doest thou unto him?

 
욥 35:7 그대가 의로운들 하나님께 무엇을 드리겠으며 그가 그대의 손에서 무엇을 받으시겠느냐 If thou be righteous, what givest thou him? or what receiveth he of thine hand?

 
욥 35:8 그대의 악은 그대와 같은 사람에게나 있는 것이요 그대의 공의는 어떤 인생에게도 있느니라 Thy wickedness may hurt a man as thou art; and thy righteousness may profit the son of man.

 
욥 35:9 사람은 학대가 많으므로 부르짖으며 군주들의 힘에 눌려 소리치나 By reason of the multitude of oppressions they make the oppressed to cry: they cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty.

 
욥 35:10 나를 지으신 하나님은 어디 계시냐고 하며 밤에 노래를 주시는 자가 어디 계시냐고 말하는 자가 없구나 But none saith, Where is God my maker, who giveth songs in the night;

 
욥 35:11 땅의 짐승들보다도 우리를 더욱 가르치시고 하늘의 새들보다도 우리를 더욱 지혜롭게 하시는 이가 어디 계시냐고 말하는 이도 없구나 Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowls of heaven?

 
욥 35:12 그들이 악인의 교만으로 말미암아 거기에서 부르짖으나 대답하는 자가 없음은 There they cry, but none giveth answer, because of the pride of evil men.

 
욥 35:13 헛된 것은 하나님이 결코 듣지 아니하시며 전능자가 돌아보지 아니하심이라 Surely God will not hear vanity, neither will the Almighty regard it.

 
욥 35:14 하물며 말하기를 하나님은 뵈올 수 없고 일의 판단하심은 그 앞에 있으니 나는 그를 기다릴 뿐이라 말하는 그대일까보냐 Although thou sayest thou shalt not see him, yet judgment is before him; therefore trust thou in him.

 
욥 35:15 그러나 지금은 그가 진노하심으로 벌을 주지 아니하셨고 악행을 끝까지 살피지 아니하셨으므로 But now, because it is not so, he hath visited in his anger; yet he knoweth it not in great extremity:

 
욥 35:16 욥이 헛되이 입을 열어 지식 없는 말을 많이 하는구나 Therefore doth Job open his mouth in vain; he multiplieth words without knowledge.
