소개 소발이 악인의 상태에 대해 이야기 함. 악인의 승리는 잠간이요, 위선자의 기쁨은 잠시뿐임. Zophar shows the state and portion of the wicked—He says: The triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the hypocrite but for a moment.

 
욥 20:1 나아마 사람 소발이 대답하여 이르되 Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,

 
욥 20:2 그러므로 내 초조한 마음이 나로 하여금 대답하게 하나니 이는 내 중심이 조급함이니라 Therefore do my thoughts cause me to answer, and for this I make haste.

 
욥 20:3 내가 나를 부끄럽게 하는 책망을 들었으므로 나의 슬기로운 마음이 나로 하여금 대답하게 하는구나 I have heard the check of my reproach, and the spirit of my understanding causeth me to answer.

 
욥 20:4 네가 알지 못하느냐 예로부터 사람이 이 세상에 생긴 때로부터 Knowest thou not this of old, since man was placed upon earth,

 
욥 20:5 악인이 이긴다는 자랑도 잠시요 경건하지 못한 자의 즐거움도 잠깐이니라 That the triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the hypocrite but for a moment?

 
욥 20:6 그 존귀함이 하늘에 닿고 그 머리가 구름에 미칠지라도 Though his excellency mount up to the heavens, and his head reach unto the clouds;

 
욥 20:7 자기의 똥처럼 영원히 망할 것이라 그를 본 자가 이르기를 그가 어디 있느냐 하리라 Yet he shall perish for ever like his own dung: they which have seen him shall say, Where is he?

 
욥 20:8 그는 꿈 같이 지나가니 다시 찾을 수 없을 것이요 밤에 보이는 환상처럼 사라지리라 He shall fly away as a dream, and shall not be found: yea, he shall be chased away as a vision of the night.

 
욥 20:9 그를 본 눈이 다시 그를 보지 못할 것이요 그의 처소도 다시 그를 보지 못할 것이며 The eye also which saw him shall see him no more; neither shall his place any more behold him.

 
욥 20:10 그의 아들들은 가난한 자에게 은혜를 구하겠고 그도 얻은 재물을 자기 손으로 도로 줄 것이며 His children shall seek to please the poor, and his hands shall restore their goods.

 
욥 20:11 그의 기골이 청년 같이 강장하나 그 기세가 그와 함께 흙에 누우리라 His bones are full of the sin of his youth, which shall lie down with him in the dust.

 
욥 20:12 그는 비록 악을 달게 여겨 혀 밑에 감추며 Though wickedness be sweet in his mouth, though he hide it under his tongue;

 
욥 20:13 아껴서 버리지 아니하고 입천장에 물고 있을지라도 Though he spare it, and forsake it not; but keep it still within his mouth:

 
욥 20:14 그의 음식이 창자 속에서 변하며 뱃속에서 독사의 쓸개가 되느니라 Yet his meat in his bowels is turned, it is the gall of asps within him.

 
욥 20:15 그가 재물을 삼켰을지라도 토할 것은 하나님이 그의 배에서 도로 나오게 하심이니 He hath swallowed down riches, and he shall vomit them up again: God shall cast them out of his belly.

 
욥 20:16 그는 독사의 독을 빨며 뱀의 혀에 죽을 것이라 He shall suck the poison of asps: the viper’s tongue shall slay him.

 
욥 20:17 그는 강 곧 꿀과 엉긴 젖이 흐르는 강을 보지 못할 것이요 He shall not see the rivers, the floods, the brooks of honey and butter.

 
욥 20:18 수고하여 얻은 것을 삼키지 못하고 돌려 주며 매매하여 얻은 재물로 즐거움을 삼지 못하리니 That which he laboured for shall he restore, and shall not swallow it down: according to his substance shall the restitution be, and he shall not rejoice therein.

 
욥 20:19 이는 그가 가난한 자를 학대하고 버렸음이요 자기가 세우지 않은 집을 빼앗음이니라 Because he hath oppressed and hath forsaken the poor; because he hath violently taken away an house which he builded not;

 
욥 20:20 그는 마음에 평안을 알지 못하니 그가 기뻐하는 것을 하나도 보존하지 못하겠고 Surely he shall not feel quietness in his belly, he shall not save of that which he desired.

 
욥 20:21 남기는 것이 없이 모두 먹으니 그런즉 그 행복이 오래 가지 못할 것이라 There shall none of his meat be left; therefore shall no man look for his goods.

 
욥 20:22 풍족할 때에도 괴로움이 이르리니 모든 재난을 주는 자의 손이 그에게 임하리라 In the fulness of his sufficiency he shall be in straits: every hand of the wicked shall come upon him.

 
욥 20:23 그가 배를 불리려 할 때에 하나님이 맹렬한 진노를 내리시리니 음식을 먹을 때에 그의 위에 비 같이 쏟으시리라 When he is about to fill his belly, God shall cast the fury of his wrath upon him, and shall rain it upon him while he is eating.

 
욥 20:24 그가 철 병기를 피할 때에는 놋화살을 쏘아 꿰뚫을 것이요 He shall flee from the iron weapon, and the bow of steel shall strike him through.

 
욥 20:25 몸에서 그의 화살을 빼낸즉 번쩍번쩍하는 촉이 그의 쓸개에서 나오고 큰 두려움이 그에게 닥치느니라 It is drawn, and cometh out of the body; yea, the glittering sword cometh out of his gall: terrors are upon him.

 
욥 20:26 큰 어둠이 그를 위하여 예비되어 있고 사람이 피우지 않은 불이 그를 멸하며 그 장막에 남은 것을 해치리라 All darkness shall be hid in his secret places: a fire not blown shall consume him; it shall go ill with him that is left in his tabernacle.

 
욥 20:27 하늘이 그의 죄악을 드러낼 것이요 땅이 그를 대항하여 일어날 것인즉 The heaven shall reveal his iniquity; and the earth shall rise up against him.

 
욥 20:28 그의 가산이 떠나가며 하나님의 진노의 날에 끌려가리라 The increase of his house shall depart, and his goods shall flow away in the day of his wrath.

 
욥 20:29 이는 악인이 하나님께 받을 분깃이요 하나님이 그에게 정하신 기업이니라 This is the portion of a wicked man from God, and the heritage appointed unto him by God.
