| 소개 | 1829년 5월 15일 펜실베이니아 주 하모니 근처 사스케하나 강둑에서 조셉 스미스와 올리버 카우드리가 아론 신권에 성임되었다(교회사1:39~42). 이 성임은 자신을 요한, 즉 신약전서에서 침례 요한으로 불리우는 바로 그라고 알리는 한 천사의 손으로 행해졌다. 천사는 설명하기를 자기는 멜기세덱 신권이라 일컬어지는 더 높은 신권의 열쇠를 지닌 고대의 사도 베드로, 야고보, 요한의 지시 아래 임무를 수행하고 있다고 하였다. 때가 이르면 조셉과 올리버에게 멜기세덱 신권이 부여되리라는 약속이 주어졌다(제27편 7, 8, 12절 참조). | Ordination of Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery to the Aaronic Priesthood along the bank of the Susquehanna River, near Harmony, Pennsylvania, May 15, 1829. HC 1: 39—42. The ordination was done by the hands of an angel, who announced himself as John, the same that is called John the Baptist in the New Testament. The angel explained that he was acting under the direction of Peter, James, and John, the ancient apostles, who held the keys of the higher priesthood, which was called the Priesthood of Melchizedek. The promise was given to Joseph and Oliver that in due time the Priesthood of Melchizedek would be conferred upon them. See also Section 27: 7, 8, 12. |
