소개	말씀이 그리스도 안에 있어 구원에 이르게 함을 앰율레크가 증거함 - 속죄가 행하여지지 않는 한 모든 인류는 반드시 멸망함 - 모세의 온 율법은 하나님의 아들의 희생을 가리킴 - 영원한 구속의 계획은 신앙과 회개에 바탕을 두고 있음 - 현세적 및 영적인 축복을 위하여 기도하라 - 이 생은 사람들이 하나님 만나기를 준비할 시간임 - 하나님 앞에서 두려움으로 너희 구원을 이루라. 주전 74년경.	Amulek testifies that the word is in Christ unto salvation—Unless an atonement is made, all mankind must perish—The whole law of Moses points toward the sacrifice of the Son of God—The eternal plan of redemption is based on faith and repentance—Pray for temporal and spiritual blessings—This life is the time for men to prepare to meet God—Work out your salvation with fear and trembling. 앨 34:1	또 이제 이렇게 되었나니 앨마가 이 말을 그들에게 하고 난 후 땅에 앉으니, 앰율레크가 일어나 그들을 가르치기 시작하여 이르되,	AND now it came to pass that after Alma had spoken these words unto them he sat down upon the ground, and Amulek arose and began to teach them, saying:
앨 34:2	내 형제들아, 나는 우리가 하나님의 아들이라고 가르치는 그리스도의 오심에 관하여 말하여져 온 것을 너희가 모른다는 것이 불가능하다고 생각하노니, 참으로 나는 너희가 우리 중에서 떨어져 나가기 전에 이러한 것이 너희에게 충분히 가르친 바 된 줄을 아노라.	My brethren, I think that it is impossible that ye should be ignorant of the things which have been spoken concerning the coming of Christ, who is taught by us to be the Son of God; yea, I know that these things were taught unto you bountifully before your dissension from among us.
앨 34:3	또 너희가 너희의 고난으로 인하여, 내 사랑하는 형제에게 너희가 무엇을 해야 할지 너희에게 알려 주기를 원하였으매, 이에 그는 너희 마음을 준비시키기 위하여 얼마간 너희에게 말하였고, 또한 신앙을 갖고 인내하도록 너희를 권면하였나니 -	And as ye have desired of my beloved brother that he should make known unto you what ye should do, because of your afflictions; and he hath spoken somewhat unto you to prepare your minds; yea, and he hath exhorted you unto faith and to patience—
앨 34:4	참으로 너희가 말씀의 선함을 시험해 보기 위하여, 너희 마음에 말씀을 심어 볼 만큼의 신앙이라도 가질 것을 권면하였도다.	Yea, even that ye would have so much faith as even to plant the word in your hearts, that ye may try the experiment of its goodness.
앨 34:5	이에 우리는 너희 마음 속에 있는 큰 의문은 말씀이 하나님의 아들 안에 있는지, 또는 그리스도가 없을 것인지 하는 것임을 보았느니라.	And we have beheld that the great question which is in your minds is whether the word be in the Son of God, or whether there shall be no Christ.
앨 34:6	너희는 또한 많은 경우에, 나의 형제가 말씀이 그리스도 안에 있어 구원에 이르게 함을, 너희에게 증명한 것을 보았느니라.	And ye also beheld that my brother has proved unto you, in many instances, that the word is in Christ unto salvation.
앨 34:7	나의 형제는 구속이 하나님의 아들을 통하여 온다는 지노스의 말을 인용하였고, 또한 지노크의 말도 인용하였으며, 또한 그는 이러한 것이 참됨을 증명하기 위하여 모세에 대해서도 언급하였느니라.	My brother has called upon the words of Zenos, that redemption cometh through the Son of God, and also upon the words of Zenock; and also he has appealed unto Moses, to prove that these things are true.
앨 34:8	그리고 이제 보라, 내가 이러한 것이 참됨을 나 스스로 너희에게 증거하리라. 보라, 내가 너희에게 이르노니, 나는 그리스도께서 자기 백성의 범법을 짊어지시기 위하여, 사람의 자녀들 가운데 오실 것과 그가 세상의 죄를 위하여 속죄하시리라는 것을 아노라. 이는 주 하나님께서 이를 말씀하셨음이니라.	And now, behold, I will testify unto you of myself that these things are true. Behold, I say unto you, that I do know that Christ shall come among the children of men, to take upon him the transgressions of his people, and that he shall atone for the sins of the world; for the Lord God hath spoken it.
앨 34:9	이는 속죄가 이루어져야 마땅함이니, 이는 영원하신 하나님의 위대한 계획에 따라 속죄가 반드시 이루어져야만 함이니라. 그렇지 아니하면 모든 인류는 필경 반드시 멸망할 것이라. 참으로 모두가 완악하게 되었고, 참으로 모두가 타락하여 잃은 바 되었은즉, 마땅히 이루어져야 하는 속죄를 통하지 아니하고서는 반드시 멸망하리라.	For it is expedient that an atonement should be made; for according to the great plan of the Eternal God there must be an atonement made, or else all mankind must unavoidably perish; yea, all are hardened; yea, all are fallen and are lost, and must perish except it be through the atonement which it is expedient should be made.
앨 34:10	이는 크고도 마지막이 되는 희생이 있어야 마땅함이니, 참으로 사람의 희생도 아니요, 짐승이나 여하한 새의 희생도 아니라. 이는 그것이 사람이 드리는 희생이 되지 아니할 것이요, 필연 무한하고 영원한 희생이 될 것임이라.	For it is expedient that there should be a great and last sacrifice; yea, not a sacrifice of man, neither of beast, neither of any manner of fowl; for it shall not be a human sacrifice; but it must be an infinite and eternal sacrifice.
앨 34:11	이제 자기의 피를 희생하여 남의 죄를 위해 속죄할 수 있는 사람은 아무도 없느니라. 이제 누가 살인하면, 보라 공의로운 우리의 법이 그의 형제의 목숨을 취하겠느냐? 내가 네게 이르노니 아니라.	Now there is not any man that can sacrifice his own blood which will atone for the sins of another. Now, if a man murdereth, behold will our law, which is just, take the life of his brother? I say unto you, Nay.
앨 34:12	다만 법은 살인한 자의 목숨을 요구하나니, 그러므로 무한한 속죄에 미치지 못하는 것으로 세상의 죄를 위하여 충분할 것은 아무것도 있을 수 없느니라.	But the law requireth the life of him who hath murdered; therefore there can be nothing which is short of an infinite atonement which will suffice for the sins of the world.
앨 34:13	그러므로 크고도 마지막이 되는 희생이 있어야 마땅하리니, 그렇게 되면 피 흘리는 일이 그치게 될 것이요, 곧 그침이 마땅하며, 그렇게 되면 모세의 율법이 이루어지리니, 참으로 일점일획도 남김없이 이루어지고, 하나도 사라지지 아니하리라.	Therefore, it is expedient that there should be a great and last sacrifice, and then shall there be, or it is expedient there should be, a stop to the shedding of blood; then shall the law of Moses be fulfilled; yea, it shall be all fulfilled, every jot and tittle, and none shall have passed away.
앨 34:14	또 보라, 이것이 율법의 온 뜻이니, 곧 모든 것이 저 크고도 마지막이 되는 희생을 가리킴이라. 또 저 크고도 마지막이 되는 희생은 하나님의 아들이 되리니, 참으로 무한하고 영원하니라.	And behold, this is the whole meaning of the law, every whit pointing to that great and last sacrifice; and that great and last sacrifice will be the Son of God, yea, infinite and eternal.
앨 34:15	또 이리하여 그는 그의 이름을 믿을 모든 자에게 구원을 가져오시리라. 이 마지막 희생의 의도는 이것이니, 곧 공의를 이기고, 사람들에게 회개에 이르는 신앙을 갖도록 방편을 마련해 주는, 자비의 심정을 일으키는 것이라.	And thus he shall bring salvation to all those who shall believe on his name; this being the intent of this last sacrifice, to bring about the bowels of mercy, which overpowereth justice, and bringeth about means unto men that they may have faith unto repentance.
앨 34:16	또 이리하여 자비가 공의의 요구를 충족시킬 수 있어, 그들을 안전한 팔 안에 감싸주거니와, 한편 회개에 이르는 신앙을 행사하지 아니하는 자는 공의의 요구의 온 율법에 드러나게 되나니, 그러므로 회개에 이르는 신앙을 가진 자에게만 크고도 영원한 구속의 계획이 이루어지느니라.	And thus mercy can satisfy the demands of justice, and encircles them in the arms of safety, while he that exercises no faith unto repentance is exposed to the whole law of the demands of justice; therefore only unto him that has faith unto repentance is brought about the great and eternal plan of redemption.
앨 34:17	그러므로 내 형제들아, 하나님께서 너희로 회개에 이르는 너희의 신앙을 행사하기 시작하게 하시고, 너희로 그의 거룩한 이름을 부르기 시작하게 하사, 너희에게 자비를 베푸시게 되기를 원하노라.	Therefore may God grant unto you, my brethren, that ye may begin to exercise your faith unto repentance, that ye begin to call upon his holy name, that he would have mercy upon you;
앨 34:18	참으로 그에게 부르짖어 자비를 구하라. 이는 그가 구원하시기에 능하심이라.	Yea, cry unto him for mercy; for he is mighty to save.
앨 34:19	참으로 스스로 겸손하고, 쉬지 말고 그에게 기도하라.	Yea, humble yourselves, and continue in prayer unto him.
앨 34:20	너희가 너희의 들에 있을 때, 참으로 너희의 모든 양 떼를 위해 그에게 부르짖으라.	Cry unto him when ye are in your fields, yea, over all your flocks.
앨 34:21	너희의 집에서, 참으로 너희의 모든 권속을 위해, 아침에도 낮에도 저녁에도 그에게 부르짖으라.	Cry unto him in your houses, yea, over all your household, both morning, mid-day, and evening.
앨 34:22	참으로 너희 원수들의 권력을 막아 주시도록 그에게 부르짖으라.	Yea, cry unto him against the power of your enemies.
앨 34:23	참으로 모든 의의 원수인 악마를 막아 주시도록 그에게 부르짖으라.	Yea, cry unto him against the devil, who is an enemy to all righteousness.
앨 34:24	너희 밭의 작물을 위해 그에게 부르짖어, 그것들로 너희가 형통하게 하라.	Cry unto him over the crops of your fields, that ye may prosper in them.
앨 34:25	너희 들판의 양 떼를 위해 부르짖어, 그것들로 증식하게 하라.	Cry over the flocks of your fields, that they may increase.
앨 34:26	그러나 이것이 모두가 아니니, 너희는 너희의 골방과 너희의 은밀한 장소에서 또 너희의 광야에서 너희의 영혼을 쏟아 내어야만 하느니라.	But this is not all; ye must pour out your souls in your closets, and your secret places, and in your wilderness.
앨 34:27	또한 너희가 주께 부르짖지 아니할 때는, 너희의 마음으로 충만하게 하여, 너희의 복리와, 또한 너희 주위에 있는 이들의 복리를 위해 끊임없이 그에게 기도하는 데 너희 마음을 기울이도록 하라.	Yea, and when you do not cry unto the Lord, let your hearts be full, drawn out in prayer unto him continually for your welfare, and also for the welfare of those who are around you.
앨 34:28	또 이제 보라 내 사랑하는 형제들아, 내가 너희에게 이르노니, 이것이 모두라고 생각하지 말라. 이는 너희가 이 모든 것을 행한 후에, 만일 궁핍한 자와, 헐벗은 자를 물리치며, 병들어 고난당하는 자를 돌아보지 아니하고, 너희가 가진 것이 있을 때, 곤궁에 처한 자들에게 너희의 재물을 나누어 주지 아니하면 - 내가 너희에게 이르노니, 만일 너희가 이러한 일 중 아무것도 행하지 아니하면, 보라 너희의 기도는 헛되고, 너희에게 무익하며, 너희는 신앙을 부인하는 위선자와 같음이니라.	And now behold, my beloved brethren, I say unto you, do not suppose that this is all; for after ye have done all these things, if ye turn away the needy, and the naked, and visit not the sick and afflicted, and impart of your substance, if ye have, to those who stand in need—I say unto you, if ye do not any of these things, behold, your prayer is vain, and availeth you nothing, and ye are as hypocrites who do deny the faith.
앨 34:29	그러므로 너희가 자애롭기를 기억하지 아니하면, 너희는 정련하는 자가 (아무 가치가 없어) 내어버리므로, 사람들의 발 아래 밟히는 찌꺼기와 같으니라.	Therefore, if ye do not remember to be charitable, ye are as dross, which the refiners do cast out, (it being of no worth) and is trodden under foot of men.
앨 34:30	이제 나의 형제들아, 나는 너희가 그처럼 많은 증거를 받았고, 거룩한 경전이 이러한 것을 증거함을 보았은즉, 너희가 나아와 회개에 이르는 열매 맺기를 바라노라.	And now, my brethren, I would that, after ye have received so many witnesses, seeing that the holy scriptures testify of these things, ye come forth and bring fruit unto repentance.
앨 34:31	참으로 너희가 나아와 더 이상 너희 마음을 완악하게 하지 말기를 바라노니, 이는 보라 지금이 너희의 구원의 때와 날임이라. 그러므로 너희가 회개하고 너희 마음을 완악하게 하지 아니하면, 즉시로 위대한 구속의 계획이 너희에게 이루어지리라.	Yea, I would that ye would come forth and harden not your hearts any longer; for behold, now is the time and the day of your salvation; and therefore, if ye will repent and harden not your hearts, immediately shall the great plan of redemption be brought about unto you.
앨 34:32	이는 보라, 이 생은 사람들이 하나님 만나기를 준비할 시간이라. 참으로 보라 이 생의 날은 사람들이 자기의 일을 수행할 날이니라.	For behold, this life is the time for men to prepare to meet God; yea, behold the day of this life is the day for men to perform their labors.
앨 34:33	또 이제 내가 앞서 너희에게 이른 것같이, 너희가 그처럼 많은 증거를 가졌은즉, 그러므로 내가 너희에게 구하노니 너희는 너희의 회개의 날을 끝까지 미루지 말라. 이는 영원을 준비하도록 우리에게 주어진 생의 이 날 후에는, 보라, 우리가 이 생에 있는 동안 우리의 시간을 활용하지 아니하면, 그 후에는 아무 일도 수행할 수 없는 어둠의 밤이 옴이니라.	And now, as I said unto you before, as ye have had so many witnesses, therefore, I beseech of you that ye do not procrastinate the day of your repentance until the end; for after this day of life, which is given us to prepare for eternity, behold, if we do not improve our time while in this life, then cometh the night of darkness wherein there can be no labor performed.
앨 34:34	너희가 저 참담한 위기에 이르게 되었을 때는 말하기를, 내가 회개하겠노라, 내가 내 하나님께로 돌아가겠노라 할 수 없느니라. 참으로 너희는 이렇게 말할 수 없나니, 이는 너희가 이 생을 떠날 때에 너희 몸을 소유하는 그 동일한 영, 그 동일한 영이 저 영원한 세상에서 너희 몸을 소유할 능력을 가질 것임이니라.	Ye cannot say, when ye are brought to that awful crisis, that I will repent, that I will return to my God. Nay, ye cannot say this; for that same spirit which doth possess your bodies at the time that ye go out of this life, that same spirit will have power to possess your body in that eternal world.
앨 34:35	이는 보라, 만일 너희가 죽기까지 너희의 회개의 날을 미루었다면 너희는 악마의 영에 복종하게 되었고, 그는 너희를 자기의 것으로 인치나니, 그러므로 주의 영은 너희에게서 물러나, 너희 안에 있을 곳이 없으며, 악마가 너희를 다스릴 모든 권능을 가짐이라. 이것이 악인의 마지막 상태니라.	For behold, if ye have procrastinated the day of your repentance even until death, behold, ye have become subjected to the spirit of the devil, and he doth seal you his; therefore, the Spirit of the Lord hath withdrawn from you, and hath no place in you, and the devil hath all power over you; and this is the final state of the wicked.
앨 34:36	또 이를 내가 아는 것은, 주께서는 거룩하지 않은 성전에 거하지 아니하시고, 의로운 자들의 마음에 거하신다고 말씀하셨으며, 의인들은 그의 나라에 앉아, 다시는 나가지 아니할 것이요, 그들의 옷은 어린 양의 피를 통하여 희게 되리라고 또한 말씀하신 연고니라.	And this I know, because the Lord hath said he dwelleth not in unholy temples, but in the hearts of the righteous doth he dwell; yea, and he has also said that the righteous shall sit down in his kingdom, to go no more out; but their garments should be made white through the blood of the Lamb.
앨 34:37	이에 이제 내 사랑하는 형제들아, 나는 너희가 이러한 것을 기억하고, 하나님 앞에서 두려움으로 너희 구원을 이루고, 그리스도의 오심을 더 이상 부인하지 말며,	And now, my beloved brethren, I desire that ye should remember these things, and that ye should work out your salvation with fear before God, and that ye should no more deny the coming of Christ;
앨 34:38	성신을 대적하여 더 이상 다투지 말고, 도리어 이를 받고, 그리스도의 이름을 받들고, 티끌에까지 스스로 겸손하여, 어느 곳에 있든지, 영과 진리로, 하나님을 예배하고, 그가 너희에게 내려주시는 많은 자비와 축복을 매일 감사드림으로 생활하기를 원하노라.	That ye contend no more against the Holy Ghost, but that ye receive it, and take upon you the name of Christ; that ye humble yourselves even to the dust, and worship God, in whatsoever place ye may be in, in spirit and in truth; and that ye live in thanksgiving daily, for the many mercies and blessings which he doth bestow upon you.
앨 34:39	참으로 이뿐 아니라 내가 또한 너희에게 권면하노니, 내 형제들아 너희는 깨어서 쉬지 말고 기도하여, 악마의 유혹에 이끌려 가지 않도록 하고, 그리하여 그가 너희를 이기지 못하게 하고, 그리하여 마지막 날에 너희가 그의 예속된 자가 되지 않도록 하라. 이는 보라, 그는 너희에게 좋은 것으로 상 주지 아니함이니라.	Yea, and I also exhort you, my brethren, that ye be watchful unto prayer continually, that ye may not be led away by the temptations of the devil, that he may not overpower you, that ye may not become his subjects at the last day; for behold, he rewardeth you no good thing.
앨 34:40	또 이제 내 사랑하는 형제들아, 내가 너희를 권면하고자 하노니, 너희는 인내를 가지고, 온갖 고난을 참고, 너희의 심한 가난으로 인하여 너희를 쫓아낸 자들을 욕하지 말라. 너희가 그들과 같은 죄인이 될까 하노라.	And now my beloved brethren, I would exhort you to have patience, and that ye bear with all manner of afflictions; that ye do not revile against those who do cast you out because of your exceeding poverty, lest ye become sinners like unto them;
앨 34:41	다만 너희는 인내를 갖고, 언젠가 너희의 모든 고난에서 놓여 쉬게 되리라는 굳은 소망으로, 그러한 고난을 참으라.	But that ye have patience, and bear with those afflictions, with a firm hope that ye shall one day rest from all your afflictions.
