소개 부활 때에 사람들은 끝없는 행복의 상태나 끝없는 비참의 상태로 나아오게 됨 - 간악함은 결코 행복이 아니었음 - 육에 속한 사람은 세상에서 하나님 없이 살아감 - 모든 사람은 이 생에서 얻은 특성과 속성을 회복 때에 다시 받게 됨. 주전 74년경. the resurrection men come forth to a state of endless happiness or endless misery—Wickedness never was happiness—Carnal men are without God in the world—Every person receives again in the restoration the characteristics and attributes acquired in mortality. [About 73 B.C.]
앨 41:1 그리고 이제 내 아들아, 이미 말한 바 회복에 관하여 내가 얼마간 말할 것이 있나니, 이는 보라, 어떤 이들이 경전을 왜곡하여, 이 일로 말미암아 길에서 멀리 벗어났음이니라. 또 네 마음도 이 일에 관하여 염려해온 줄을 내가 알겠노라. 그러나 보라, 내가 이 일을 네게 설명하리라. AND now, my son, I have somewhat to say concerning the restoration of which has been spoken; for behold, some have wrested the scriptures, and have gone far astray because of this thing. And I perceive that thy mind has been worried also concerning this thing. But behold, I will explain it unto thee.
앨 41:2 내 아들아, 내가 네게 이르노니 회복의 계획은 하나님의 공의에 있어 불가결한 것이니, 이는 만물이 그 적절한 질서로 회복됨이 불가결함이니라. 보라, 그리스도의 권능과 부활을 좇아 사람의 영혼이 그 육신에게로 회복되며, 육신의 각 부분이 그 자체로 회복되는 것은 불가결하고도 공의로운 일이니라.

I say unto thee, my son, that the plan of restoration is requisite with the justice of God; for it is requisite that all things should be restored to their proper order. Behold, it is requisite and just, according to the power and resurrection of Christ, that the soul of man should be restored to its body, and that every part of the body should be restored to itself.
앨 41:3 또 사람들이 그 행위대로 심판받게 되는 것과 만일 이 생에서 그 행위가 선하였고, 그 마음의 원하는 바가 선하였으면, 그들 역시 마지막 날에 선한 것으로 회복되는 것도 하나님의 공의에 있어 불가결한 것이니라. And it is requisite with the justice of God that men should be judged according to their works; and if their works were good in this life, and the desires of their hearts were good, that they should also, at the last day, be restored unto that which is good.
앨 41:4 또 만일 그 행위가 악하면 그것이 그들에게 악으로 회복될 것이라. 그러므로 만물이 그 적절한 질서로 회복되며, 모든 것이 그 본래의 구조로 회복되어 - 죽어야 하는 것이 일으킴을 받아 죽지 아니하는 것으로, 썩어야 하는 것이 썩지 아니하는 것으로 - 일으킴을 받아 끝없는 행복에 이르러 하나님의 나라를 기업으로 받거나, 아니면 끝없는 비참에 이르러 악마의 나라를 상속하게 되리니, 하나는 이편이요 다른 하나는 저편이라 - And if their works are evil they shall be restored unto them for evil. Therefore, all things shall be restored to their proper order, every thing to its natural frame—mortality raised to immortality, corruption to incorruption—raised to endless happiness to inherit the kingdom of God, or to endless misery to inherit the kingdom of the devil, the one on one hand, the other on the other—
앨 41:5 하나는 일으킴을 받아 행복의 소원대로 행복, 곧 그 선의 소원대로 선에 이르고, 다른 하나는 그 악의 소원대로 악에 이르나니, 이는 저가 온종일 악을 행하기 원한 것같이, 바로 그와 같이 밤이 올 때 자기의 보응 곧 악의 보응을 받을 것임이니라. The one raised to happiness according to his desires of happiness, or good according to his desires of good; and the other to evil according to his desires of evil; for as he has desired to do evil all the day long even so shall he have his reward of evil when the night cometh.
앨 41:6 또 다른 한편으로도 역시 그러하니, 만일 그가 자기의 죄를 회개하고 그의 생애의 끝까지 의를 원했으면, 보상을 받아 의에 이를 것이니라. And so it is on the other hand. If he hath repented of his sins, and desired righteousness until the end of his days, even so he shall be rewarded unto righteousness.
앨 41:7 이들은 주로 인해 구속받는 자들이요, 참으로 이들이 저 끝없는 흑암의 밤에서 빼내심을 입고 건지심을 받는 자들이라. 그리하여 그들은 섰거나 아니면 넘어지나니, 이는 보라, 선을 행하고자 하든지 아니면 악을 행하고자 하든지 간에, 그들은 자기 스스로의 재판관임이니라. These are they that are redeemed of the Lord; yea, these are they that are taken out, that are delivered from that endless night of darkness; and thus they stand or fall; for behold, they are their own judges, whether to do good or do evil.
앨 41:8 이제 하나님의 법령은 변경할 수 없는 것인즉, 그러므로 누구든지 원하는 자는 그리로 행하여 구원받을 수 있도록 길이 예비되었느니라. Now, the decrees of God are unalterable; therefore, the way is prepared that whosoever will may walk therein and be saved.
앨 41:9 또 이제 보라, 내 아들아, 네가 죄를 범하고자 이제까지 그러한 위험을 범하여 왔거니와, 한 번 더 교리의 그 점들에 있어 네 하나님을 거스려 범법하는 위험을 범하지 말라. And now behold, my son, do not risk one more offense against your God upon those points of doctrine, which ye have hitherto risked to commit sin.
앨 41:10 회복에 관하여 말하였음으로 인하여, 네가 죄에서 행복으로 회복될 것이라 생각하지 말라. 보라, 내가 네게 이르노니 간악함은 결코 행복이 아니었느니라.

Do not suppose, because it has been spoken concerning restoration, that ye shall be restored from sin to happiness. Behold, I say unto you, wickedness never was happiness.
앨 41:11 또 이제 내 아들아, 자연의 상태, 곧 내가 이렇게 말하리니, 속된 상태에 있는 모든 사람은 쓰디쓴 담즙에 빠져 있고 불의에 매인 바 되어 있느니라. 그들은 세상에서 하나님이 없는 자요, 또 하나님의 본성과 상반되게 나아갔나니, 그러므로 그들이 행복의 본질과 상반되는 상태에 있느니라. And now, my son, all men that are in a state of nature, or I would say, in a carnal state, are in the gall of bitterness and in the bonds of iniquity; they are without God in the world, and they have gone contrary to the nature of God; therefore, they are in a state contrary to the nature of happiness.
앨 41:12 또 이제 보라, 회복이란 말의 의미가, 자연스런 상태의 것을 취하여 그것을 부자연스런 상태에 두는, 곧 그것을 그 본성과 반대되는 상태에 두는 것이냐? And now behold, is the meaning of the word restoration to take a thing of a natural state and place it in an unnatural state, or to place it in a state opposite to its nature?
앨 41:13 오 내 아들아, 그렇지 아니하니라. 회복이란 말의 의미는 악에 대해서는 악을, 육신에 속한 것에 대해서는 육신에 속한 것을, 악마적인 것에 대해서는 악마적인 것을 - 선한 것에 대해서는 선을, 의로운 것에 대해서는 의를, 공의로운 것에 대해서는 공의를, 자비로운 것에 대해서는 자비를 다시 되돌리는 것이니라.

O, my son, this is not the case; but the meaning of the word restoration is to bring back again evil for evil, or carnal for carnal, or devilish for devilish—good for that which is good; righteous for that which is righteous; just for that which is just; merciful for that which is merciful.
앨 41:14 그러므로 내 아들아, 너는 주의하여 네 형제들에게 자비로우라. 공정히 행하며, 의롭게 판단하며, 계속하여 선을 행하라. 만일 네가 이 모든 일을 행하면 그러면 네 보상을 받게 되리라. 참으로 자비가 다시 네게로 회복될 것이요, 공의가 다시 네게로 회복될 것이며, 의로운 판단이 다시 네게로 회복될 것이요, 또 선이 다시 네게 보상으로 돌아오게 되리라. Therefore, my son, see that you are merciful unto your brethren; deal justly, judge righteously, and do good continually; and if ye do all these things then shall ye receive your reward; yea, ye shall have mercy restored unto you again; ye shall have justice restored unto you again; ye shall have a righteous judgment restored unto you again; and ye shall have good rewarded unto you again.
앨 41:15 이는 네가 내보내는 것이 다시 네게로 돌아와 회복될 것임이니, 그러므로 회복이란 말은 죄인을 더욱 온전히 정죄하고, 전혀 그를 의롭다 하지 아니하느니라. For that which ye do send out shall return unto you again, and be restored; therefore, the word restoration more fully condemneth the sinner, and justifieth him not at all.
