The Twelve Disciples minister unto the people and pray for the Holy Ghost—They are baptized and receive the Holy Ghost and the ministering of angels—Jesus prays using words that cannot be written—He attests to the exceedingly great faith of these Nephites. And now it came to pass that when Jesus had ascended into heaven, the multitude did disperse, and every man did take his wife and his children and did return to his own home. | 19:1.예수께서 하늘에 오르시고 난 후에, 무리가 흩어져 각기 저들의 처자를 데리고 저들의 집으로 돌아갔고, |

And it was noised abroad among the people immediately, before it was yet dark, that the multitude had seen Jesus, and that he had ministered unto them, and that he would also show himself on the morrow unto the multitude. | 19:2.해가 채 저물기도 전에, 무리가 모여 예수를 보았고 예수께서 저들을 가르치셨으며 또한 다음 날도 친히 무리에게 나타내어 보이시리라 한 말씀이 백성들 간에 널리 알려지게 되었으며, |

Yea, and even all the night it was noised abroad concerning Jesus; and insomuch did they send forth unto the people that there were many, yea, an exceedingly great number, did labor exceedingly all that night, that they might be on the morrow in the place where Jesus should show himself unto the multitude. | 19:3.또한 밤이 새도록 예수에 관한 소문이 백성들에게 널리 전하여 졌고, 다음날 예수께서 나타내 보이시리라 한 곳에 많은 백성들을 모이게 하려, 많은 사람들이 밤을 새워가며 열심히 이를 사람들에게 전하였더라. |

And it came to pass that on the morrow, when the multitude was gathered together, behold, Nephi and his brother whom he had raised from the dead, whose name was Timothy, and also his son, whose name was Jonas, and also Mathoni, and Mathonihah, his brother, and Kumen, and Kumenonhi, and Jeremiah, and Shemnon, and Jonas, and Zedekiah, and Isaiah-now these were the names of the disciples whom Jesus had chosen-and it came to pass that they went forth and stood in the midst of the multitude. | 19:4.다음날 무리가 크게 떼를 지어 한데 모일 때에, 보라 니파이와 니파이가 죽음으로부터 일으킨 디모데라 하는 니파이의 아우와 니파이의 아들 요나스와 매도나이와 그의 형제 매도나이하와 쿠멘과 쿠메논하이와 예레미야와 쉠논과 요나스와 시드기야와 이사야가 또한 앞으로 나아가 무리 가운데 서니 이들이 예수께서 택하신 열두 제자라. |

And behold, the multitude was so great that they did cause that they should be separated into twelve bodies. | 19:5.보라, 모여 든 무리가 많은지라, 이들 열둘이 무리를 열두 무리로 갈라, |

And the twelve did teach the multitude; and behold, they did cause that the multitude should kneel down upon the face of the earth, and should pray unto the Father in the name of Jesus. | 19:6.열둘이 각각 저들을 가르쳤으니 보라 저들은 무리를 가르쳐, 땅에 무릎을 꿇고 예수의 이름으로 아버지께 간구하게 하였고, |
| 3니 19:7 | 또 이 제자들 역시 예수의 이름으로 아버지께 기도하였느니라. 그리고 이렇게 되었나니 저들이 일어나서 백성에게 성역을 베풀더라. |

And the disciples did pray unto the Father also in the name of Jesus. And it came to pass that they arose and ministered unto the people. | 19:7.제자들도 예수의 이름으로 아버지께 기도하고 나서, 다시 일어나서 백성들을 가르쳤으며, |

And when they had ministered those same words which Jesus had spoken-nothing varying from the words which Jesus had spoken-behold, they knelt again and prayed to the Father in the name of Jesus. | 19:8.예수께서 가르치신 말씀을 조금도 틀리지 않게 무리에게 전하여 가르치신 다음, 보라 저들은 다시 무릎을 꿇고 예수의 이름으로 아버지께 기도하였으니, |

And they did pray for that which they most desired; and they desired that the Holy Ghost should be given unto them. | 19:9.저들은 각기 저들이 가장 원하는 것을 위하여 기도하였으며, 성신이 저들에게 임하기를 원하였더라. |

And when they had thus prayed they went down unto the water's edge, and the multitude followed them. | 19:10.저들이 이같이 기도하기를 마치고 나서 물가로 내려 가매 무리가 저들을 따랐고, |
| 3니 19:11 | 이에 이렇게 되었나니 니파이가 물로 내려가 침례를 받았느니라. |

And it came to pass that Nephi went down into the water and was baptized. | 19:11.니파이가 물로 들어 가 침례를 받았으며, |
| 3니 19:12 | 또 그가 물에서 올라와 침례를 베풀기 시작하여 예수께서 택하신 자들 모두에게 침례를 주었느니라. |

And he came up out of the water and began to baptize. And he baptized all those whom Jesus had chosen. | 19:12.저가 물에서 나와 침례를 베풀기 시작하였으니, 먼저 예수께서 택하신 자들을 모두 침례하니라. |
| 3니 19:13 | 이에 이렇게 되었나니 저들이 다 침례를 받고 물에서 올라오매 성신이 저들 위에 내려오시니, 저들이 성신과 불로 충만하게 되었더라. |

And it came to pass when they were all baptized and had come up out of the water, the Holy Ghost did fall upon them, and they were filled with the Holy Ghost and with fire. | 19:13.저들이 모두 침례를 받고 물에서 올라 올 때, 성신이 저들 위에 내리매 저들이 불과 성신으로 충만하게 되었으며, |
| 3니 19:14 | 또 보라 저들은 마치 불 같은 것에 둘러싸였는데 그것이 하늘에서 내려온지라 무리가 이를 보고 증거하였으며, 또 천사들이 하늘로서 내려와 저들에게 성역을 베풀더라. |

And behold, they were encircled about as if it were by fire; and it came down from heaven, and the multitude did witness it, and did bear record; and angels did come down out of heaven and did minister unto them. | 19:14.보라 저들은 하늘에서 내려 온 흡사 불과 같은 것으로 둘러 싸이게 되어 무리가 이를 보고 증거하였고, 또한 천사들이 하늘로부터 내려 와 저들을 가르쳐 인도하더라. |
| 3니 19:15 | 또 이렇게 되었나니 천사들이 제자들에게 성역을 베풀고 있을 때에, 보라, 예수께서 오셔서 가운데 서시어 저들에게 성역을 베푸시더라. |

And it came to pass that while the angels were ministering unto the disciples, behold, Jesus came and stood in the midst and ministered unto them. | 19:15.천사들이 이같이 제자들에게 행하고 있을 때에, 보라 예수께서 저들 가운데 서시어 은총을 베푸시며, |
| 3니 19:16 | 또 이렇게 되었나니 예수께서 무리에게 말씀하시고, 그들을 명하사 땅에 다시 무릎을 꿇게 하시고, 또한 그의 제자들도 땅에 무릎을 꿇게 하시더라. |

And it came to pass that he spake unto the multitude, and commanded them that they should kneel down again upon the earth, and also that his disciples should kneel down upon the earth. | 19:16.무리와 제자들에게 명하사 다시 땅에 무릎을 꿇으라 하시고, |
| 3니 19:17 | 그리고 이렇게 되었나니 그들이 모두 땅에 무릎을 꿇고 나자, 예수께서 그 제자들에게 명하사 저들로 하여금 기도하게 하시더라. |

And it came to pass that when they had all knelt down upon the earth, he commanded his disciples that they should pray. | 19:17.저들이 모두 땅에 무릎을 꿇자 예수께서 저들에게 명하사 기도하게 하시니, |
| 3니 19:18 | 또 보라, 저들이 기도하기 시작하되, 저들이 예수께 기도하며, 그를 저들의 주요, 저들의 하나님이라 일컫더라. |

And behold, they began to pray; and they did pray unto Jesus, calling him their Lord and their God. | 19:18.보라 저들이 기도하기 시작하되 예수를 저희 주 하나님이라 일컬어 기도하는지라. |
| 3니 19:19 | 또 이렇게 되었나니 예수께서 저들 가운데서 떠나 저들에게서 조금 떨어진 곳으로 가셔서, 몸을 땅에 엎드리시고 이르시되, |

And it came to pass that Jesus departed out of the midst of them, and went a little way off from them and bowed himself to the earth, and he said: | 19:19.예수께서 저들 가운데서 좀 떨어진 곳으로 나아 가시어 친히 땅에 엎드리어 이르시기를, |
| 3니 19:20 | 아버지여, 내가 택한 이 사람들에게 성신을 주신 것을 감사하나이다. 내가 저들을 세상에서 택하였음은 나를 믿는 저들의 믿음으로 인함이니이다. |

Father, I thank thee that thou hast given the Holy Ghost unto these whom I have chosen; and it is because of their belief in me that I have chosen them out of the world. | 19:20.아버지시여 내가 택한 자들에게 성신을 주심을 감사하나이다. 내가 저들을 세상에서 택하였음은 나를 믿는 저들의 신앙으로 인함이니이다. |
| 3니 19:21 | 아버지여, 비옵나니 저들의 말을 믿을 모든 자에게 성신을 주시옵소서. |

Father, I pray thee that thou wilt give the Holy Ghost unto all them that shall believe in their words. | 19:21.아버지시여 간구하옵기는 저들의 말을 믿고 따르는 자들에게도 성신을 내려 주시옵소서. |
| 3니 19:22 | 아버지여, 저들이 나를 믿는 고로 아버지께서 저들에게 성신을 주셨사오며, 아버지께서 저들을 들으시며 저들이 내게 기도하는 고로, 저들이 나를 믿는 줄 아버지께서 아시나이다. 또 저들이 내게 기도하는 것은 내가 저들과 함께 있는 까닭이니이다. |

Father, thou hast given them the Holy Ghost because they believe in me; and thou seest that they believe in me because thou hearest them, and they pray unto me; and they pray unto me because I am with them. | 19:22.아버지시여 저들이 나를 믿음으로 당신께서 저들에게 성신을 내려 주셨으며, 저들이 내게 기도함을 당신께서 들으시매 저들이 나를 믿는 줄 아시옵나이다. 이제 저들이 내게 간구함은 내가 저들과 함께 함이니이다. |
| 3니 19:23 | 또 이제 아버지여, 내가 아버지께 비옵는 것은 저들과 또한 저들의 말을 믿을 모든 자를 위함이오니, 그들로 나를 믿게 하사 아버지께서 내 안에 계신 것같이 내가 그들 안에 있게 하시옵고, 그리하여 우리가 하나가 되게 하시옵소서. |

And now Father, I pray unto thee for them, and also for all those who shall believe on their words, that they may believe in me, that I may be in them as thou, Father, art in me, that we may be one. | 19:23.아버지시여 내가 저들과 또한 저들의 말을 믿게 될 모든 자들을 위하여 간구하오니, 저들로 나를 믿게 하시어 아버지이신 당신께서 내 안에 계신것샅이 나로 저들 가운데 있게 하시고 우리가 하나가 되게 하여 주시옵소서. |
| 3니 19:24 | 또 이렇게 되었나니 예수께서 이같이 아버지께 기도하시고 나서 제자들에게로 오시니, 보라, 저들이 아직 그치지 않고 계속하여 그에게 기도하는데, 저들에게 기도할 바를 주셨고, 또 저들은 소망으로 가득하였던지라, 많은 말을 더하지 아니하더라. |

And it came to pass that when Jesus had thus prayed unto the Father, he came unto his disciples, and behold, they did still continue, without ceasing, to pray unto him; and they did not multiply many words, for it was given unto them what they should pray, and they were filled with desire. | 19:24.예수께서 이같이 아버지께 기도하시기를 마치신 후에 제자들에게로 가시니, 보라 저들이 그치지 않고 계속하여 기도하는데 이미 간구할 바를 알며 소망으로 가득하였던지라 중언부언하지 않더라. |
| 3니 19:25 | 또 이렇게 되었나니 저들이 예수께 기도할 때 예수께서 저들을 축복하시더니, 이에 그 얼굴을 저들에게로 향하시고 미소하시니, 그의 얼굴 빛이 저들에게 비취매, 보라, 저들이 예수의 얼굴과 또한 그 옷과 같이 희더라. 또 보라, 그 희기가 모든 흰 것 보다 희었으니, 참으로 그 흰 것처럼 흰 것이 땅 위에 도무지 있을 수 없더라. |

And it came to pass that Jesus blessed them as they did pray unto him; and his countenance did smile upon them, and the light of his countenance did shine upon them, and behold they were as white as the countenance and also the garments of Jesus; and behold the whiteness thereof did exceed all the whiteness, yea, even there could be nothing upon earth so white as the whiteness thereof. | 19:25.이에 저들이 예수께 기도하는 동안 예수께서 저들을 축복하시면서 만면에 미소를 띠우시고 저들을 바라보시니 예수의 얼굴 빛이 저들에게 비치는지라, 보라 저들이 예수의 얼굴이나 옷 빛처럼 희게 보여 그 흰 빛이 다른 어느 것보다도 뛰어났으며 이 세상에 속한 것으로 그보다 더 흰 것이 없었더라. |
| 3니 19:26 | 또 예수께서 저들에게 이르시되, 계속 기도하라 하셨으나 저들이 기도하기를 그친 것은 아니었더라. |

And Jesus said unto them: Pray on; nevertheless they did not cease to pray. | 19:26.예수께서 저들에게 이르시어 기도하기를 계속하라 하시었고, 저들이 또한 그치지 않고 기도하니, |
| 3니 19:27 | 이에 다시 저들에게서 돌이켜, 조금 떨어진 곳으로 가셔서 몸을 땅에 엎드리시고, 아버지께 다시 기도하여 이르시되, |

And he turned from them again, and went a little way off and bowed himself to the earth; and he prayed again unto the Father, saying: | 19:27.예수가 저들에게서 돌아 서시어 또다시 저들로부터 좀 떨어진 곳으로 나아가사 땅에 엎드리어 아버지께 간구하여 이르시기를, |
| 3니 19:28 | 아버지여, 저들의 신앙으로 인하여 내가 택한 자들을 정결하게 하여 주신 것을 감사하나이다. 내가 저들과 또한 저들의 말을 믿을 자들을 위하여 비옵나니, 그들도 저들이 내 안에서 정결하게 된 것같이 저들의 말을 믿는 신앙을 통하여 내 안에서 정결하게 되게 하시옵소서. |

Father, I thank thee that thou hast purified those whom I have chosen, because of their faith, and I pray for them, and also for them who shall believe on their words, that they may be purified in me, through faith on their words, even as they are purified in me. | 19:28.아버지여 저들의 신앙을 보사 내가 택한 자들을 정결케 하여 주셨음을 감사하나이다. 내가 저들과 또한 저들의 말을 믿는 자들을 위하여 간구하오니, 내가 택한 자들이 내 안에서 정결하게 된 것같이 저들의 말을 믿는 자들도 그 신앙으로 인하여 내 안에서 정결케 되게 하여 주옵소서. |
| 3니 19:29 | 아버지여, 내가 비옵는 것은 세상을 위함이 아니요, 그 신앙으로 인하여 아버지께서 세상에서 내게 주신 자들을 위함이오니, 그들로 내 안에서 정결하게 되게 하사, 아버지께서 내 안에 계신 것같이, 내가 그들 안에 있게 하시옵고, 그리하여 우리가 하나가 되게 하사, 나로 그들로 인하여 영광을 얻게 하시옵소서. |

Father, I pray not for the world, but for those whom thou hast given me out of the world, because of their faith, that they may be purified in me, that I may be in them as thou, Father, art in me, that we may be one, that I may be glorified in them. | 19:29.아버지시여 내가 세상을 위하여 간구함이 아니요, 당신께서 그 믿음이 장하여 세상에서 가려내어 내게주신 자들을 위하여 간구하옵나니, 저들을 내 안에서 정결하게 하시어 아버지이신 당신께서 내 안에 계신 것같이 내가 저들 가운데 있어 우리가 하나가 되게 하시며 그리하여 저들로 인하여 내가 영광받게 하여 주시옵소서. |
| 3니 19:30 | 이에 예수께서 이 말씀을 하시고 나서 그의 제자들에게로 다시 오시니, 보라, 저들이 그에게 그치지 아니하고 변함없이 기도하고 있는지라, 예수께서 다시 저들을 향하여 미소하시니, 보라, 저들이 참으로 예수와 같이 희더라. |

And when Jesus had spoken these words he came again unto his disciples; and behold they did pray steadfastly, without ceasing, unto him; and he did smile upon them again; and behold they were white, even as Jesus. | 19:30.예수께서 이같이 간구하기를 그치시고 제자들에게로 돌아오시니, 보라 저들이 그치지 아니하고 변함없이 예수께 기도하고 있는지라, 예수께서 미소를 지으시고 저들을 바라 보시매, 보라 저들이 예수와 같이 희게 보이더라. |
| 3니 19:31 | 또 이렇게 되었나니 예수께서 조금 떨어진 곳으로 다시 가셔서 아버지께 기도하셨으나, |

And it came to pass that he went again a little way off and prayed unto the Father; | 19:31.이에 다시 예수께서 조금 떨어진 곳에 가시어 아버지께 간구하시었으니, |
| 3니 19:32 | 예수께서 기도하신 말씀을 혀로써 말할 수 없고, 예수께서 기도하신 말씀을 사람이 기록할 수도 없도다. |

And tongue cannot speak the words which he prayed, neither can be written by man the words which he prayed. | 19:32.예수께서 기도하신 그 말씀을 기록할 사람이 없었으나, |
| 3니 19:33 | 또 무리가 듣고 증거하니, 그들의 마음이 열려 예수께서 기도하신 말씀을 그들이 그 마음에 깨닫더라. |

And the multitude did hear and do bear record; and their hearts were open and they did understand in their hearts the words which he prayed. | 19:33.무리가 듣고 증거하였으며 저들의 심령이 열린지라, 예수께서 기도하신 말씀을 저들이 마음으로 깨달아 알더라. |
| 3니 19:34 | 그러할지라도 예수께서 기도하신 말씀이 심히 크고 기이하였던지라, 사람이 기록할 수도 없고 말로 표현할 수도 없도다. |

Nevertheless, so great and marvelous were the words which he prayed that they cannot be written, neither can they be uttered by man. | 19:34.그러나 예수께서 기도하신 말씀이 심히 크고 놀라움에 기록하거나 사람의 말로 표현하지 못하니라. |
| 3니 19:35 | 또 이렇게 되었나니 예수께서 기도하기를 마치시고 제자들에게로 다시 오셔서, 저들에게 이르시되, 이처럼 큰 신앙을 내가 모든 유대인 중에서 결코 보지 못하였노니, 그런고로 내가 그들의 믿지 않음으로 인하여 이처럼 큰 기적을 그들에게 보일 수 없었도다. |

And it came to pass that when Jesus had made an end of praying he came again to the disciples, and said unto them: So great faith have I never seen among all the Jews; wherefore I could not show unto them so great miracles, because of their unbelief. | 19:35.예수께서 기도하기를 마치시고 다시 제자들에게 이르시기를, 이토록 놀라운 신앙을 내가 유대인 가운데서 보지 못하였나니, 저들의 불신앙으로 인하여 참으로 놀라운 기적을 행하여 보일 수 없었느니라. |
| 3니 19:36 | 진실로 내가 너희에게 이르노니, 너희가 본 바 그처럼 큰 일을 그들 중에서 본 자가 없고, 너희의 들은 바 그처럼 큰 일을 그들이 듣지 못하였도다 하시니라. |

Verily I say unto you, there are none of them that have seen so great things as ye have seen; neither have they heard so great things as ye have heard. | 19:36.진실로 내가 너희에게 이르노니, 너희가 본 바 위대한 일을 유대인 중에서 본 자가 없고, 너희가 들은 놀라운 일들을 유대인 중에서 들은 자가 없도다 하시니라. |
