소개 선지자 예레미야가 선지자 하나냐에게 이르되 하나냐여 들으라 여호와께서 너를 보내지 아니하셨거늘 네가 이 백성으로 거짓을 믿게 하는도다 Hananiah prophesies falsely that the Babylonian yoke will be broken.

(24-13) 예레미야 28. 하나냐의도전

예루살렘에서 있었던 논란의 열기는 예레미야 28장에 분명하게 나타난다. 하나냐는 시드기야의 백성들이 포로로 가지 않을 뿐 아니라 바벨론의 세력(멍에)이 꺾어졌고 2년 안으로 성전의 보화와 포로들이 돌아오게 될 것을 하나님으로부터 계시받아 알았다고 주장하였다.(1~4절 참조)

6절에서 예레미야가“아멘, 여호와는 이같이 하옵소서”라고 한 것은 누구의 예언이 성취될 것인가를 보라는 냉소적인 도전이다. 참된 선지자를 시험하는 한 가지 방법은 그의 말이 성취되느냐를 보는 것이라고 모세는 가르쳤다.(신명기 18:22 참조) 예레미야는 멸망과 포로 생활을 예언하였고, 하나냐는 돌아옴과 회복을 예언하였다. 예레미야는 선지자의 말이 성취될 때 그가 주님의 선택받은 자라고 간결하게 답하였다.(9절 참조)

하나냐는 그의 예언을 극적으로 나타내기 위하여 예레미야의 독에서 멍에를 꺾었는데, 이는 하나님께서 유다의 바벨론 멍에를 그처럼 꺾으시리라는 것을 보이기 위해서였다. 이에 대한 주님의 답변은 간결하고 강력하였다. 나무 멍에 대신 쇠 멍에가 씌워질 것이다.(13절)

예레미야가 예언했듯이 하나냐가 죽은 것으로(15~17절 참조) 시드기야와 그 백성은 두 사람 중 누가 참된 선지자인가를 알 수 있었으나, 그들은 너무도 강퍅하여 응하지 못하였다.
레 28:1 그 해 곧 유다 왕 시드기야가 다스리기 시작한 지 사 년 다섯째 달 기브온 앗술의 아들 선지자 하나냐가 여호와의 성전에서 제사장들과 모든 백성이 보는 앞에서 내게 말하여 이르되 And it came to pass the same year, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the fourth year, and in the fifth month, that Hananiah the son of Azur the prophet, which was of Gibeon, spake unto me in the house of the LORD, in the presence of the priests and of all the people, saying,
레 28:2 만군의 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님이 이같이 일러 말씀하시기를 내가 바벨론의 왕의 멍에를 꺾었느니라 Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying, I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon.
레 28:3 내가 바벨론의 왕 느부갓네살이 이 곳에서 빼앗아 바벨론으로 옮겨 간 여호와의 성전 모든 기구를 이 년 안에 다시 이 곳으로 되돌려 오리라 Within two full years will I bring again into this place all the vessels of the LORD’s house, that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took away from this place, and carried them to Babylon:
레 28:4 내가 또 유다의 왕 여호야김의 아들 여고니야와 바벨론으로 간 유다 모든 포로를 다시 이 곳으로 돌아오게 하리니 이는 내가 바벨론의 왕의 멍에를 꺾을 것임이라 여호와의 말씀이니라 하시니라 And I will bring again to this place Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah, with all the captives of Judah, that went into Babylon, saith the LORD: for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.
레 28:5 선지자 예레미야가 여호와의 성전에 서 있는 제사장들과 모든 백성들이 보는 앞에서 선지자 하나냐에게 말하니라 Then the prophet Jeremiah said unto the prophet Hananiah in the presence of the priests, and in the presence of all the people that stood in the house of the LORD,
레 28:6 선지자 예레미야가 말하니라 아멘, 여호와는 이같이 하옵소서 여호와께서 네가 예언한 말대로 이루사 여호와의 성전 기구와 모든 포로를 바벨론에서 이 곳으로 되돌려 오시기를 원하노라 Even the prophet Jeremiah said, Amen: the LORD do so: the LORD perform thy words which thou hast prophesied, to bring again the vessels of the LORD’s house, and all that is carried away captive, from Babylon into this place.
레 28:7 그러나 너는 내가 네 귀와 모든 백성의 귀에 이르는 이 말을 잘 들으라 Nevertheless hear thou now this word that I speak in thine ears, and in the ears of all the people;
레 28:8 나와 너 이전의 선지자들이 예로부터 많은 땅들과 큰 나라들에 대하여 전쟁과 재앙과 전염병을 예언하였느니라 The prophets that have been before me and before thee of old prophesied both against many countries, and against great kingdoms, of war, and of evil, and of pestilence.
레 28:9 평화를 예언하는 선지자는 그 예언자의 말이 응한 후에야 그가 진실로 여호와께서 보내신 선지자로 인정 받게 되리라 The prophet which prophesieth of peace, when the word of the prophet shall come to pass, then shall the prophet be known, that the LORD hath truly sent him.
레 28:10 선지자 하나냐가 선지자 예레미야의 목에서 멍에를 빼앗아 꺾고 Then Hananiah the prophet took the yoke from off the prophet Jeremiah’s neck, and brake it.
레 28:11 모든 백성 앞에서 하나냐가 말하여 이르되 여호와께서 이와 같이 말씀하시니라 내가 이 년 안에 모든 민족의 목에서 바벨론의 왕 느부갓네살의 멍에를 이와 같이 꺾어 버리리라 하셨느니라 하매 선지자 예레미야가 자기의 길을 가니라 And Hananiah spake in the presence of all the people, saying, Thus saith the LORD; Even so will I break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon from the neck of all nations within the space of two full years. And the prophet Jeremiah went his way.
레 28:12 선지자 하나냐가 선지자 예레미야의 목에서 멍에를 꺾어 버린 후에 여호와의 말씀이 예레미야에게 임하니라 이르시기를 Then the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah the prophet, after that Hananiah the prophet had broken the yoke from off the neck of the prophet Jeremiah, saying,
레 28:13 너는 가서 하나냐에게 말하여 이르기를 여호와의 말씀에 네가 나무 멍에들을 꺾었으나 그 대신 쇠 멍에들을 만들었느니라 Go and tell Hananiah, saying, Thus saith the LORD; Thou hast broken the yokes of wood; but thou shalt make for them yokes of iron.
레 28:14 만군의 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님께서 이와 같이 말씀하시니라 내가 쇠 멍에로 이 모든 나라의 목에 메워 바벨론의 왕 느부갓네살을 섬기게 하였으니 그들이 그를 섬기리라 내가 들짐승도 그에게 주었느니라 하라 For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; I have put a yoke of iron upon the neck of all these nations, that they may serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; and they shall serve him: and I have given him the beasts of the field also.
레 28:15 선지자 예레미야가 선지자 하나냐에게 이르되 하나냐여 들으라 여호와께서 너를 보내지 아니하셨거늘 네가 이 백성에게 거짓을 믿게 하는도다 Then said the prophet Jeremiah unto Hananiah the prophet, Hear now, Hananiah; The LORD hath not sent thee; but thou makest this people to trust in a lie.
레 28:16 그러므로 여호와께서 이와 같이 말씀하시되 내가 너를 지면에서 제하리니 네가 여호와께 패역한 말을 하였음이라 네가 금년에 죽으리라 하셨느니라 하더니 Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will cast thee from off the face of the earth: this year thou shalt die, because thou hast taught rebellion against the LORD.
레 28:17 선지자 하나냐가 그 해 일곱째 달에 죽었더라 So Hananiah the prophet died the same year in the seventh month.
