소개 내 종 야곱아 두려워 말라 이스라엘아 놀라지 말라 보라 내가 너를 원방에서 구원하며 네 자손을 포로된 땅에서 구원하리니 야곱이 돌아와서 평안히,정온히 거할것이라 Jeremiah prophesies the conquest of Egypt by Babylon—Jacob shall be saved and return to his own land.

(25-19) 예레미야 46장. 바벨론의 애굽 정복: 이스라엘이 구원됨

4절의“갑옷”은 쇠 비늘 갑옷으로, 주로 고기비늘과 같은 금속 비늘을 겹쳐서 만든 것이다.“주님의 날”(10절)은 재림을 의미한다.(요엘 1:15; 아모스 5:18 참조). 그날은“여호와께서 그의 대적에게 원수 갚는 보복일”것이다.(10절) 악인에게는 그날이 두려운 날이지만 준비된 자에게는 큰 날이 될 것이다.(말라기 4:5 참조) 14절과 25절은 애굽의 성읍을 언급한다. 놉은 쥬피터의 성읍, 즉 테베를 일컫는 이름이다. 애굽이 아름다운 암송아지로 묘사되었으나 멸망이 북방(바벨론)으로부터 임할 것이다.(20절 참조) 그러나 이 와중에서도 이스라엘은 그들과 그들의 자손이 구원되리라는 주님의 약속을 받았고, 이스라엘이 돌아올 것이라는 약속을 받았는데, 이는 주께서 이스라엘과 함께 계시기 때문이다. 마지막 두 절은 예레미야의 시대와 그 후 시대에 성취되지 않은 유일한 예언이다.

레 46:1 이방 나라들에 대하여 선지자 예레미야에게 임한 여호와의 말씀이라 The word of the LORD which came to Jeremiah the prophet against the Gentiles;
레 46:2 애굽에 관한 것이라 곧 유다의 요시야 왕의 아들 여호야김 넷째 해에 유브라데 강 가 갈그미스에서 바벨론의 느부갓네살 왕에게 패한 애굽의 왕 바로느고의 군대에 대한 말씀이라 Against Egypt, against the army of Pharaoh-necho king of Egypt, which was by the river Euphrates in Carchemish, which Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon smote in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah.
레 46:3 너희는 작은 방패와 큰 방패를 예비하고 나가서 싸우라 Order ye the buckler and shield, and draw near to battle.
레 46:4 너희 기병이여 말에 안장을 지워 타며 투구를 쓰고 나서며 창을 갈며 갑옷을 입으라 Harness the horses; and get up, ye horsemen, and stand forth with your helmets; furbish the spears, and put on the brigandines.
레 46:5 여호와의 말씀이니라 내가 본즉 그들이 놀라 물러가며 그들의 용사는 패하여 황급히 도망하며 뒤를 돌아보지 아니함은 어찜이냐 두려움이 그들의 사방에 있음이로다 Wherefore have I seen them dismayed and turned away back? and their mighty ones are beaten down, and are fled apace, and look not back: for fear was round about, saith the LORD.
레 46:6 발이 빠른 자도 도망하지 못하며 용사도 피하지 못하고 그들이 다 북쪽에서 유브라데 강 가에 넘어지며 엎드러지는도다 Let not the swift flee away, nor the mighty man escape; they shall stumble, and fall toward the north by the river Euphrates.
레 46:7 강의 물이 출렁임 같고 나일 강이 불어남 같은 자가 누구냐 Who is this that cometh up as a flood, whose waters are moved as the rivers?
레 46:8 애굽은 나일 강이 불어남 같고 강물이 출렁임 같도다 그가 이르되 내가 일어나 땅을 덮어 성읍들과 그 주민을 멸할 것이라 Egypt riseth up like a flood, and his waters are moved like the rivers; and he saith, I will go up, and will cover the earth; I will destroy the city and the inhabitants thereof.
레 46:9 말들아 달려라 병거들아 정신 없이 달려라 용사여 나오라 방패 잡은 구스 사람과 붓 사람과 활을 당기는 루딤 사람이여 나올지니라 하거니와 Come up, ye horses; and rage, ye chariots; and let the mighty men come forth; the Ethiopians and the Libyans, that handle the shield; and the Lydians, that handle and bend the bow.
레 46:10 그 날은 주 만군의 여호와께서 그의 대적에게 원수 갚는 보복일이라 칼이 배부르게 삼키며 그들의 피를 넘치도록 마시리니 주 만군의 여호와께서 북쪽 유브라데 강 가에서 희생제물을 받으실 것임이로다 For this is the day of the Lord GOD of hosts, a day of vengeance, that he may avenge him of his adversaries: and the sword shall devour, and it shall be satiate and made drunk with their blood: for the Lord GOD of hosts hath a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates.
레 46:11 처녀 딸 애굽이여 길르앗으로 올라가서 유향을 취하라 네가 치료를 많이 받아도 효력이 없어 낫지 못하리라 Go up into Gilead, and take balm, O virgin, the daughter of Egypt: in vain shalt thou use many medicines; for thou shalt not be cured.
레 46:12 네 수치가 나라들에 들렸고 네 부르짖음은 땅에 가득하였나니 용사가 용사에게 걸려 넘어져 둘이 함께 엎드러졌음이라 The nations have heard of thy shame, and thy cry hath filled the land: for the mighty man hath stumbled against the mighty, and they are fallen both together.
레 46:13 바벨론의 느부갓네살 왕이 와서 애굽 땅을 칠 일에 대하여 선지자 예레미야에게 이르신 여호와의 말씀이라 The word that the LORD spake to Jeremiah the prophet, how Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon should come and smite the land of Egypt.
레 46:14 너희는 애굽에 선포하며 믹돌과 놉과 다바네스에 선포하여 말하기를 너희는 굳건히 서서 준비하라 네 사방이 칼에 삼키웠느니라 Declare ye in Egypt, and publish in Migdol, and publish in Noph and in Tahpanhes: say ye, Stand fast, and prepare thee; for the sword shall devour round about thee.
레 46:15 너희 장사들이 쓰러짐은 어찌함이냐 그들이 서지 못함은 여호와께서 그들을 몰아내신 까닭이니라 Why are thy valiant men swept away? they stood not, because the LORD did drive them.
레 46:16 그가 많은 사람을 넘어지게 하시매 사람이 사람 위에 엎드러지며 이르되 일어나라 우리가 포악한 칼을 피하여 우리 민족에게로, 우리 고향으로 돌아가자 하도다 He made many to fall, yea, one fell upon another: and they said, Arise, and let us go again to our own people, and to the land of our nativity, from the oppressing sword.
레 46:17 그들이 그 곳에서 부르짖기를 애굽의 바로 왕이 망하였도다 그가 기회를 놓쳤도다 They did cry there, Pharaoh king of Egypt is but a noise; he hath passed the time appointed.
레 46:18 만군의 여호와라 일컫는 왕이 이르시되 나의 삶으로 맹세하노니 그가 과연 산들 중의 다볼 같이, 해변의 갈멜 같이 오리라 As I live, saith the King, whose name is the LORD of hosts, Surely as Tabor is among the mountains, and as Carmel by the sea, so shall he come.
레 46:19 애굽에 사는 딸이여 너는 너를 위하여 포로의 짐을 꾸리라 놉이 황무하며 불에 타서 주민이 없을 것임이라 O thou daughter dwelling in Egypt, furnish thyself to go into captivity: for Noph shall be waste and desolate without an inhabitant.
레 46:20 애굽은 심히 아름다운 암송아지일지라도 북으로부터 쇠파리 떼가 줄곧 오리라 Egypt is like a very fair heifer, but destruction cometh; it cometh out of the north.
레 46:21 또 그 중의 고용꾼은 살진 수송아지 같아서 돌이켜 함께 도망하고 서지 못하였나니 재난의 날이 이르렀고 벌 받는 때가 왔음이라 Also her hired men are in the midst of her like fatted bullocks; for they also are turned back, and are fled away together: they did not stand, because the day of their calamity was come upon them, and the time of their visitation.
레 46:22 애굽의 소리가 뱀의 소리 같으리니 이는 그들의 군대가 벌목하는 자 같이 도끼를 가지고 올 것임이라 The voice thereof shall go like a serpent; for they shall march with an army, and come against her with axes, as hewers of wood.
레 46:23 여호와의 말씀이니라 그들이 황충보다 많아서 셀 수 없으므로 조사할 수 없는 그의 수풀을 찍을 것이라 They shall cut down her forest, saith the LORD, though it cannot be searched; because they are more than the grasshoppers, and are innumerable.
레 46:24 딸 애굽이 수치를 당하여 북쪽 백성의 손에 붙임을 당하리로다 The daughter of Egypt shall be confounded; she shall be delivered into the hand of the people of the north.
레 46:25 만군의 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님께서 말씀하시니라 보라 내가 노의 아몬과 바로와 애굽과 애굽 신들과 왕들 곧 바로와 및 그를 의지하는 자들을 벌할 것이라 The Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, saith; Behold, I will punish the multitude of No, and Pharaoh, and Egypt, with their gods, and their kings; even Pharaoh, and all them that trust in him:
레 46:26 내가 그들의 생명을 노리는 자의 손 곧 바벨론의 느부갓네살 왕의 손과 그 종들의 손에 넘기리라 그럴지라도 그 후에는 그 땅이 이전 같이 사람 살 곳이 되리라 여호와의 말씀이니라 And I will deliver them into the hand of those that seek their lives, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of his servants: and afterward it shall be inhabited, as in the days of old, saith the LORD.
레 46:27 내 종 야곱아 두려워하지 말라 이스라엘아 놀라지 말라 보라 내가 너를 먼 곳에서 구원하며 네 자손을 포로된 땅에서 구원하리니 야곱이 돌아와서 평안하며 걱정 없이 살게 될 것이라 그를 두렵게 할 자 없으리라 But fear not thou, O my servant Jacob, and be not dismayed, O Israel: for, behold, I will save thee from afar off, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and be in rest and at ease, and none shall make him afraid.
레 46:28 여호와의 말씀이니라 내 종 야곱아 내가 너와 함께 있나니 두려워하지 말라 내가 너를 흩었던 그 나라들은 다 멸할지라도 너는 사라지지 아니하리라 내가 너를 법도대로 징계할 것이요 결코 무죄한 자로 여기지 아니하리라 하시니라 Fear thou not, O Jacob my servant, saith the LORD: for I am with thee; for I will make a full end of all the nations whither I have driven thee: but I will not make a full end of thee, but correct thee in measure; yet will I not leave thee wholly unpunished.
