소개 유다 왕 요시야의 아들 여호야김의 오 년 구 월에 예루살렘 모든 백성과 유다 성읍들에서 예루살에 이른 모든 백성이 여호와 앞에서 금식을 선포한지라 Baruch writes the prophecies of Jeremiah and reads them in the house of the Lord—Jehoiakim the king burns the book, and judgment comes upon him—Jeremiah dictates the prophecies again and adds many more.

 
레 36:1 유다의 요시야 왕의 아들 여호야김 제사년에 여호와께로부터 예레미야에게 말씀이 임하니라 이르시되 And it came to pass in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, that this word came unto Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,

(24-21) 예레미야 36:1~8. 여호와의 말씀이 기록되다

“여호야김의 치세 4년에 주님은 예레미야에게 그가 전에 전하신 모든 말씀을 기록하여 유다가 가능하면 지금이라도 경고의 말씀을 상고하여 돌이킬 수 있게 하라고 말씀하셨다.(1~3절) 이 명령에 따라 예레미야는 바룩의 도움을 받아 주님의 모든 말씀을 기록하였으며, 바룩에게 금식일에 성전에 가서 예루살렘에 온 모든 백성에게 그 글을 읽어 주라고 지시하였다.(4~8절) 이 일이 있은 후, 여호야김 치세 5년 제9월에 금식일이 정해지자 바룩은 성전의 그마랴의 방에서 모인 회중에게 예언의 말씀을 읽었다. 그마랴의 아들 미가야가 이 일을 왕궁에 모여 있던 왕자들에게 전하였다. 이에 그들은 바룩에게 두루마리를 가지고 와 읽게 했다. 그러나 그들에게 읽혀진 내용이 너무도 놀라운 것이었으므로 그들은 이를 왕에게 알릴 필요가 있다고 생각하였다.(9~19절) 그들의 권고를 받아 왕은 두루마리를 갖고 오게 하여 읽게 하였다. 그러나 얼마 읽지도 않고 왕은 그 두루마리를 찢어 화로에 던져 태우고는 바룩과 예레미야를 그에게 데려 오도록 명령하였다. 그러나 하나님이 그들을 숨겨 주셨다.(20~26절) 두루마리가 타버린 후 주님은 또다시 예레미야에게 그의 말씀을 두루마리에 기록하고, 여호야김 왕의 치욕적인 운명을 예언하는 말도 기록하라고 명하셨다. 이에 예레미야는 다시 한번 바룩에게 그의 말을 대서하게 하였다.(27~32절)”(케일과 델리츠, 주해서, 8:2:93)
레 36:2 너는 두루마리 책을 가져다가 내가 네게 말하던 날 곧 요시야의 날부터 오늘까지 이스라엘과 유다와 모든 나라에 대하여 내가 네게 일러 준 모든 말을 거기에 기록하라 Take thee a roll of a book, and write therein all the words that I have spoken unto thee against Israel, and against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spake unto thee, from the days of Josiah, even unto this day.

 
레 36:3 유다 가문이 내가 그들에게 내리려 한 모든 재난을 듣고 각기 악한 길에서 돌이키리니 그리하면 내가 그 악과 죄를 용서하리라 하시니라 It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the evil which I purpose to do unto them; that they may return every man from his evil way; that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin.

 
레 36:4 이에 예레미야가 네리야의 아들 바룩을 부르매 바룩이 예레미야가 불러 주는 대로 여호와께서 그에게 이르신 모든 말씀을 두루마리 책에 기록하니라 Then Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Neriah: and Baruch wrote from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the LORD, which he had spoken unto him, upon a roll of a book.

 
레 36:5 예레미야가 바룩에게 명령하여 이르되 나는 붙잡혔으므로 여호와의 집에 들어갈 수 없으니 And Jeremiah commanded Baruch, saying, I am shut up; I cannot go into the house of the LORD:

 
레 36:6 너는 들어가서 내가 말한 대로 두루마리에 기록한 여호와의 말씀을 금식일에 여호와의 성전에 있는 백성의 귀에 낭독하고 유다 모든 성읍에서 온 자들의 귀에도 낭독하라 Therefore go thou, and read in the roll, which thou hast written from my mouth, the words of the LORD in the ears of the people in the LORD’s house upon the fasting day: and also thou shalt read them in the ears of all Judah that come out of their cities.

 
레 36:7 그들이 여호와 앞에 기도를 드리며 각기 악한 길을 떠나리라 여호와께서 이 백성에 대하여 선포하신 노여움과 분이 크니라 It may be they will present their supplication before the LORD, and will return every one from his evil way: for great is the anger and the fury that the LORD hath pronounced against this people.

 
레 36:8 네리야의 아들 바룩이 선지자 예레미야가 자기에게 명령한 대로 하여 여호와의 성전에서 책에 있는 여호와의 모든 말씀을 낭독하니라 And Baruch the son of Neriah did according to all that Jeremiah the prophet commanded him, reading in the book the words of the LORD in the LORD’s house.

 
레 36:9 유다의 요시야 왕의 아들 여호야김의 제오년 구월에 예루살렘 모든 백성과 유다 성읍들에서 예루살렘에 이른 모든 백성이 여호와 앞에서 금식을 선포한지라 And it came to pass in the fifth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, in the ninth month, that they proclaimed a fast before the LORD to all the people in Jerusalem, and to all the people that came from the cities of Judah unto Jerusalem.

 
레 36:10 바룩이 여호와의 성전 위뜰 곧 여호와의 성전에 있는 새 문 어귀 곁에 있는 사반의 아들 서기관 그마랴의 방에서 그 책에 기록된 예레미야의 말을 모든 백성에게 낭독하니라 Then read Baruch in the book the words of Jeremiah in the house of the LORD, in the chamber of Gemariah the son of Shaphan the scribe, in the higher court, at the entry of the new gate of the LORD’s house, in the ears of all the people.

 
레 36:11 사반의 손자요 그마랴의 아들인 미가야가 그 책에 기록된 여호와의 말씀을 다 듣고 When Michaiah the son of Gemariah, the son of Shaphan, had heard out of the book all the words of the LORD,

 
레 36:12 왕궁에 내려가서 서기관의 방에 들어가니 모든 고관 곧 서기관 엘리사마와 스마야의 아들 들라야와 악볼의 아들 엘라단과 사반의 아들 그마랴와 하나냐의 아들 시드기야와 모든 고관이 거기에 앉아 있는지라 Then he went down into the king’s house, into the scribe’s chamber: and, lo, all the princes sat there, even Elishama the scribe, and Delaiah the son of Shemaiah, and Elnathan the son of Achbor, and Gemariah the son of Shaphan, and Zedekiah the son of Hananiah, and all the princes.

 
레 36:13 미가야가 바룩이 백성의 귀에 책을 낭독할 때에 들은 모든 말을 그들에게 전하매 Then Michaiah declared unto them all the words that he had heard, when Baruch read the book in the ears of the people.

 
레 36:14 이에 모든 고관이 구시의 증손 셀레먀의 손자 느다냐의 아들 여후디를 바룩에게 보내 이르되 너는 백성의 귀에 낭독한 두루마리를 손에 가지고 오라 네리야의 아들 바룩이 두루마리를 손에 가지고 그들에게로 오니 Therefore all the princes sent Jehudi the son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, unto Baruch, saying, Take in thine hand the roll wherein thou hast read in the ears of the people, and come. So Baruch the son of Neriah took the roll in his hand, and came unto them.

 
레 36:15 그들이 바룩에게 이르되 앉아서 이를 우리 귀에 낭독하라 바룩이 그들의 귀에 낭독하매 And they said unto him, Sit down now, and read it in our ears. So Baruch read it in their ears.

 
레 36:16 그들이 그 모든 말씀을 듣고 놀라 서로 보며 바룩에게 이르되 우리가 이 모든 말을 왕에게 아뢰리라 Now it came to pass, when they had heard all the words, they were afraid both one and other, and said unto Baruch, We will surely tell the king of all these words.

 
레 36:17 그들이 또 바룩에게 물어 이르되 너는 그가 불러 주는 이 모든 말을 어떻게 기록하였느냐 청하노니 우리에게 알리라 And they asked Baruch, saying, Tell us now, How didst thou write all these words at his mouth?

 
레 36:18 바룩이 대답하되 그가 그의 입으로 이 모든 말을 내게 불러 주기로 내가 먹으로 책에 기록하였노라 Then Baruch answered them, He pronounced all these words unto me with his mouth, and I wrote them with ink in the book.

 
레 36:19 이에 고관들이 바룩에게 이르되 너는 가서 예레미야와 함께 숨고 너희가 있는 곳을 사람에게 알리지 말라 하니라 Then said the princes unto Baruch, Go, hide thee, thou and Jeremiah; and let no man know where ye be.

 
레 36:20 그들이 두루마리를 서기관 엘리사마의 방에 두고 뜰에 들어가 왕께 나아가서 이 모든 말을 왕의 귀에 아뢰니 And they went in to the king into the court, but they laid up the roll in the chamber of Elishama the scribe, and told all the words in the ears of the king.

 
레 36:21 왕이 여후디를 보내어 두루마리를 가져오게 하매 여후디가 서기관 엘리사마의 방에서 가져다가 왕과 왕의 곁에 선 모든 고관의 귀에 낭독하니 So the king sent Jehudi to fetch the roll: and he took it out of Elishama the scribe’s chamber. And Jehudi read it in the ears of the king, and in the ears of all the princes which stood beside the king.

 
레 36:22 그 때는 아홉째 달이라 왕이 겨울 궁전에 앉았고 그 앞에는 불 피운 화로가 있더라 Now the king sat in the winterhouse in the ninth month: and there was a fire on the hearth burning before him.

 
레 36:23 여후디가 서너 쪽을 낭독하면 왕이 면도칼로 그것을 연하여 베어 화로 불에 던져서 두루마리를 모두 태웠더라 And it came to pass, that when Jehudi had read three or four leaves, he cut it with the penknife, and cast it into the fire that was on the hearth, until all the roll was consumed in the fire that was on the hearth.

 
레 36:24 왕과 그의 신하들이 이 모든 말을 듣고도 두려워하거나 자기들의 옷을 찢지 아니하였고 Yet they were not afraid, nor rent their garments, neither the king, nor any of his servants that heard all these words.

 
레 36:25 엘라단과 들라야와 그마랴가 왕께 두루마리를 불사르지 말도록 아뢰어도 왕이 듣지 아니하였으며 Nevertheless Elnathan and Delaiah and Gemariah had made intercession to the king that he would not burn the roll: but he would not hear them.

 
레 36:26 왕이 왕의 아들 여라므엘과 아스리엘의 아들 스라야와 압디엘의 아들 셀레먀에게 명령하여 서기관 바룩과 선지자 예레미야를 잡으라 하였으나 여호와께서 그들을 숨기셨더라 But the king commanded Jerahmeel the son of Hammelech, and Seraiah the son of Azriel, and Shelemiah the son of Abdeel, to take Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet: but the LORD hid them.

 
레 36:27 왕이 두루마리와 바룩이 예레미야의 입을 통해 기록한 말씀을 불사른 후에 여호와의 말씀이 예레미야에게 임하니라 이르시되 Then the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, after that the king had burned the roll, and the words which Baruch wrote at the mouth of Jeremiah, saying,

 
레 36:28 너는 다시 다른 두루마리를 가지고 유다의 여호야김 왕이 불사른 첫 두루마리의 모든 말을 기록하고 Take thee again another roll, and write in it all the former words that were in the first roll, which Jehoiakim the king of Judah hath burned.

 
레 36:29 또 유다의 여호야김 왕에 대하여 이와 같이 말하기를 여호와의 말씀에 네가 이 두루마리를 불사르며 말하기를 네가 어찌하여 바벨론의 왕이 반드시 와서 이 땅을 멸하고 사람과 짐승을 이 땅에서 없어지게 하리라 하는 말을 이 두루마리에 기록하였느냐 하도다 And thou shalt say to Jehoiakim king of Judah, Thus saith the LORD; Thou hast burned this roll, saying, Why hast thou written therein, saying, The king of Babylon shall certainly come and destroy this land, and shall cause to cease from thence man and beast?

 
레 36:30 그러므로 여호와께서 유다의 왕 여호야김에 대하여 이와 같이 말씀하시니라 그에게 다윗의 왕위에 앉을 자가 없게 될 것이요 그의 시체는 버림을 당하여 낮에는 더위, 밤에는 추위를 당하리라 Therefore thus saith the LORD of Jehoiakim king of Judah; He shall have none to sit upon the throne of David: and his dead body shall be cast out in the day to the heat, and in the night to the frost.

 
레 36:31 또 내가 그와 그의 자손과 신하들을 그들의 죄악으로 말미암아 벌할 것이라 내가 일찍이 그들과 예루살렘 주민과 유다 사람에게 그 모든 재난을 내리리라 선포하였으나 그들이 듣지 아니하였느니라 And I will punish him and his seed and his servants for their iniquity; and I will bring upon them, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and upon the men of Judah, all the evil that I have pronounced against them; but they hearkened not.

 
레 36:32 이에 예레미야가 다른 두루마리를 가져다가 네리야의 아들 서기관 바룩에게 주매 그가 유다의 여호야김 왕이 불사른 책의 모든 말을 예레미야가 전하는 대로 기록하고 그 외에도 그 같은 말을 많이 더 하였더라 Then took Jeremiah another roll, and gave it to Baruch the scribe, the son of Neriah; who wrote therein from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the book which Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire: and there were added besides unto them many like words.
