소개 모압에 대한 말씀이라 Judgment and destruction shall come upon Moab for their contempt of God.

(25-21) 예레미야 48장. 하나님을 모독한 죄 때문에 모압이 전멸되다

모압은 전멸할 운명으로 정해졌으며, 주님은 모압의 원수들이 모압을 멸망시키지 않으면 그 원수들에게 저주가 내릴 것이라고 선포하셨다. 하나님은 생명을 주관하시는 분이며, 그가 원하시면 그것을 없앨 수 있는 권리도 갖고 있으시다. 이 백성은 그들의 우상 숭배와 죄악 때문에 자기들의 생명을 몰수 당하였다. 하나님의 진노는 거룩한 성소에서 우상을 숭배하도록 백성들을 속이는 자들에게 저주를 선포하시는 35절에서 잘 나타났다. 42절은 모압 민족이 멸망 당할 것이라 예시한다. 이 성구는 모든 모압 족속이 다 죽으리라는 뜻이 아니라 민족으로서의 개체성이 없어진다는 의미를 함축한다. 사람들은 모압 땅에서 그대로 살았으나 이 예언은 그대로 성취되었다. 그들은 갈대아의 포로가 되었으며, 다시는 한 민족으로 재건되지 못하였다. 47절은 주님께서 하신 약속이“마지막 날에 모압의 포로로 돌려 보내리라”라고 나온다. 이 구절은 후기에 이 백성이 복음으로 개심한다는 것을 의미할 수 있다.
레 48:1 모압에 관한 것이라 만군의 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님께서 이와 같이 말씀하시되 오호라 느보여 그가 유린 당하였도다 기랴다임이 수치를 당하여 점령되었고 미스갑이 수치를 당하여 파괴되었으니 Against Moab thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Woe unto Nebo! for it is spoiled: Kiriathaim is confounded and taken: Misgab is confounded and dismayed.
레 48:2 모압의 찬송 소리가 없어졌도다 헤스본에서 무리가 그를 해하려고 악을 도모하고 이르기를 와서 그를 끊어서 나라를 이루지 못하게 하자 하는도다 맛멘이여 너도 조용하게 되리니 칼이 너를 뒤쫓아 가리라 There shall be no more praise of Moab: in Heshbon they have devised evil against it; come, and let us cut it off from being a nation. Also thou shalt be cut down, O Madmen; the sword shall pursue thee.
레 48:3 호로나임에서 부르짖는 소리여 황폐와 큰 파멸이로다 A voice of crying shall be from Horonaim, spoiling and great destruction.
레 48:4 모압이 멸망을 당하여 그 어린이들의 부르짖음이 들리는도다 Moab is destroyed; her little ones have caused a cry to be heard.
레 48:5 그들이 루힛 언덕으로 올라가면서 울고 호로나임 내리막 길에서 파멸의 고통스런 울부짖음을 듣는도다 For in the going up of Luhith continual weeping shall go up; for in the going down of Horonaim the enemies have heard a cry of destruction.
레 48:6 도망하여 네 생명을 구원하여 광야의 노간주나무 같이 될지어다 Flee, save your lives, and be like the heath in the wilderness.
레 48:7 네가 네 업적과 보물을 의뢰하므로 너도 정복을 당할 것이요 그모스는 그의 제사장들과 고관들과 함께 포로되어 갈 것이라 For because thou hast trusted in thy works and in thy treasures, thou shalt also be taken: and Chemosh shall go forth into captivity with his priests and his princes together.
레 48:8 파멸하는 자가 각 성읍에 이를 것인즉 한 성읍도 면하지 못할 것이며 골짜기가 멸망하였으며 평지는 파멸되어 여호와의 말씀과 같으리로다 And the spoiler shall come upon every city, and no city shall escape: the valley also shall perish, and the plain shall be destroyed, as the LORD hath spoken.
레 48:9 모압에 날개를 주어 날아 피하게 하라 그 성읍들이 황폐하여 거기에 사는 자가 없으리로다 Give wings unto Moab, that it may flee and get away: for the cities thereof shall be desolate, without any to dwell therein.
레 48:10 여호와의 일을 게을리 하는 자는 저주를 받을 것이요 자기 칼을 금하여 피를 흘리지 아니하는 자도 저주를 받을 것이로다 Cursed be he that doeth the work of the LORD deceitfully, and cursed be he that keepeth back his sword from blood.
레 48:11 모압은 젊은 시절부터 평안하고 포로도 되지 아니하였으므로 마치 술이 그 찌끼 위에 있고 이 그릇에서 저 그릇으로 옮기지 않음 같아서 그 맛이 남아 있고 냄새가 변하지 아니하였도다 Moab hath been at ease from his youth, and he hath settled on his lees, and hath not been emptied from vessel to vessel, neither hath he gone into captivity: therefore his taste remained in him, and his scent is not changed.
레 48:12 그러므로 여호와께서 말씀하시니라 날이 이르리니 내가 술을 옮겨 담는 사람을 보낼 것이라 그들이 기울여서 그 그릇을 비게 하고 그 병들을 부수리니 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will send unto him wanderers, that shall cause him to wander, and shall empty his vessels, and break their bottles.
레 48:13 이스라엘 집이 벧엘을 의뢰하므로 수치를 당한 것 같이 모압이 그모스로 말미암아 수치를 당하리로다 And Moab shall be ashamed of Chemosh, as the house of Israel was ashamed of Beth-el their confidence.
레 48:14 너희가 어찌하여 말하기를 우리는 용사요 능란한 전사라 하느냐 How say ye, We are mighty and strong men for the war?
레 48:15 만군의 여호와라 일컫는 왕께서 이와 같이 말하노라 모압이 황폐하였도다 그 성읍들은 사라졌고 그 선택 받은 장정들은 내려가서 죽임을 당하니 Moab is spoiled, and gone up out of her cities, and his chosen young men are gone down to the slaughter, saith the King, whose name is the LORD of hosts.
레 48:16 모압의 재난이 가까웠고 그 고난이 속히 닥치리로다 The calamity of Moab is near to come, and his affliction hasteth fast.
레 48:17 그의 사면에 있는 모든 자여, 그의 이름을 아는 모든 자여, 그를 위로하며 말하기를 어찌하여 강한 막대기, 아름다운 지팡이가 부러졌는고 할지니라 All ye that are about him, bemoan him; and all ye that know his name, say, How is the strong staff broken, and the beautiful rod!
레 48:18 디본에 사는 딸아 네 영화에서 내려와 메마른 데 앉으라 모압을 파멸하는 자가 올라와서 너를 쳐서 네 요새를 깨뜨렸음이로다 Thou daughter that dost inhabit Dibon, come down from thy glory, and sit in thirst; for the spoiler of Moab shall come upon thee, and he shall destroy thy strong holds.
레 48:19 아로엘에 사는 여인이여 길 곁에 서서 지키며 도망하는 자와 피하는 자에게 무슨 일이 생겼는지 물을지어다 O inhabitant of Aroer, stand by the way, and espy; ask him that fleeth, and her that escapeth, and say, What is done?
레 48:20 모압이 패하여 수치를 받나니 너희는 울면서 부르짖으며 아르논 가에서 이르기를 모압이 황폐하였다 할지어다 Moab is confounded; for it is broken down: howl and cry; tell ye it in Arnon, that Moab is spoiled,
레 48:21 심판이 평지에 이르렀나니 곧 홀론과 야사와 메바앗과 And judgment is come upon the plain country; upon Holon, and upon Jahazah, and upon Mephaath,
레 48:22 디본과 느보와 벧디불라다임과 And upon Dibon, and upon Nebo, and upon Beth-diblathaim,
레 48:23 기랴다임과 벧가물과 벧므온과 And upon Kiriathaim, and upon Beth-gamul, and upon Beth-meon,
레 48:24 그리욧과 보스라와 모압 땅 원근 모든 성읍에로다 And upon Kerioth, and upon Bozrah, and upon all the cities of the land of Moab, far or near.
레 48:25 모압의 뿔이 잘렸고 그 팔이 부러졌도다 여호와의 말씀이니라 The horn of Moab is cut off, and his arm is broken, saith the LORD.
레 48:26 모압으로 취하게 할지어다 이는 그가 여호와에 대하여 교만함이라 그가 그 토한 것에서 뒹굴므로 조롱 거리가 되리로다 Make ye him drunken: for he magnified himself against the LORD: Moab also shall wallow in his vomit, and he also shall be in derision.
레 48:27 네가 이스라엘을 조롱하지 아니하였느냐 그가 도둑 가운데에서 발견되었느냐 네가 그를 말할 때마다 네 머리를 흔드는도다 For was not Israel a derision unto thee? was he found among thieves? for since thou spakest of him, thou skippedst for joy.
레 48:28 모압 주민들아 너희는 성읍을 떠나 바위 사이에 살지어다 출입문 어귀 가장자리에 깃들이는 비둘기 같이 할지어다 O ye that dwell in Moab, leave the cities, and dwell in the rock, and be like the dove that maketh her nest in the sides of the hole’s mouth.
레 48:29 우리가 모압의 교만을 들었나니 심한 교만 곧 그의 자고와 오만과 자랑과 그 마음의 거만이로다 We have heard the pride of Moab, (he is exceeding proud) his loftiness, and his arrogancy, and his pride, and the haughtiness of his heart.
레 48:30 여호와의 말씀이니라 내가 그의 노여워함의 허탄함을 아노니 그가 자랑하여도 아무 것도 성취하지 못하였도다 I know his wrath, saith the LORD; but it shall not be so; his lies shall not so effect it.
레 48:31 그러므로 내가 모압을 위하여 울며 온 모압을 위하여 부르짖으리니 무리가 길헤레스 사람을 위하여 신음하리로다 Therefore will I howl for Moab, and I will cry out for all Moab; mine heart shall mourn for the men of Kir-heres.
레 48:32 십마의 포도나무여 너의 가지가 바다를 넘어 야셀 바다까지 뻗었더니 너의 여름 과일과 포도 수확을 탈취하는 자가 나타났으니 내가 너를 위하여 울기를 야셀이 우는 것보다 더하리로다 O vine of Sibmah, I will weep for thee with the weeping of Jazer: thy plants are gone over the sea, they reach even to the sea of Jazer: the spoiler is fallen upon thy summer fruits and upon thy vintage.
레 48:33 기쁨과 환희가 옥토와 모압 땅에서 빼앗겼도다 내가 포도주 틀에 포도주가 끊어지게 하리니 외치며 밟는 자가 없을 것이라 그 외침은 즐거운 외침이 되지 못하리로다 And joy and gladness is taken from the plentiful field, and from the land of Moab; and I have caused wine to fail from the winepresses: none shall tread with shouting; their shouting shall be no shouting.
레 48:34 헤스본에서 엘르알레를 지나 야하스까지와 소알에서 호로나임을 지나 에글랏 셀리시야에 이르는 지역에 사는 사람들이 소리를 내어 부르짖음은 니므림의 물도 황폐하였음이로다 From the cry of Heshbon even unto Elealeh, and even unto Jahaz, have they uttered their voice, from Zoar even unto Horonaim, as an heifer of three years old: for the waters also of Nimrim shall be desolate.
레 48:35 여호와의 말씀이라 모압 산당에서 제사하며 그 신들에게 분향하는 자를 내가 끊어버리리라 Moreover I will cause to cease in Moab, saith the LORD, him that offereth in the high places, and him that burneth incense to his gods.
레 48:36 그러므로 나의 마음이 모압을 위하여 피리 같이 소리 내며 나의 마음이 길헤레스 사람들을 위하여 피리 같이 소리 내나니 이는 그가 모은 재물이 없어졌음이라 Therefore mine heart shall sound for Moab like pipes, and mine heart shall sound like pipes for the men of Kir-heres: because the riches that he hath gotten are perished.
레 48:37 모든 사람이 대머리가 되었고 모든 사람이 수염을 밀었으며 손에 칼자국이 있고 허리에 굵은 베가 둘렸고 For every head shall be bald, and every beard clipped: upon all the hands shall be cuttings, and upon the loins sackcloth.
레 48:38 모압의 모든 지붕과 거리 각처에서 슬피 우는 소리가 들리니 내가 모압을 마음에 들지 않는 그릇 같이 깨뜨렸음이라 여호와의 말씀이니라 There shall be lamentation generally upon all the housetops of Moab, and in the streets thereof: for I have broken Moab like a vessel wherein is no pleasure, saith the LORD.
레 48:39 어찌하여 모압이 파괴되었으며 어찌하여 그들이 애곡하는가 모압이 부끄러워서 등을 돌렸도다 그런즉 모압이 그 사방 모든 사람의 조롱 거리와 공포의 대상이 되리로다 They shall howl, saying, How is it broken down! how hath Moab turned the back with shame! so shall Moab be a derision and a dismaying to all them about him.
레 48:40 이는 여호와의 말씀이니라 보라 그가 독수리 같이 날아와서 모압 위에 그의 날개를 펴리라 For thus saith the LORD; Behold, he shall fly as an eagle, and shall spread his wings over Moab.
레 48:41 성읍들이 점령을 당하며 요새가 함락되는 날에 모압 용사의 마음이 산고를 당하는 여인 같을 것이라 Kerioth is taken, and the strong holds are surprised, and the mighty men’s hearts in Moab at that day shall be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.
레 48:42 모압이 여호와를 거슬러 자만하였으므로 멸망하고 다시 나라를 이루지 못하리로다 And Moab shall be destroyed from being a people, because he hath magnified himself against the LORD.
레 48:43 여호와의 말씀이니라 모압 주민아 두려움과 함정과 올무가 네게 닥치나니 Fear, and the pit, and the snare, shall be upon thee, O inhabitant of Moab, saith the LORD.
레 48:44 두려움에서 도망하는 자는 함정에 떨어지겠고 함정에서 나오는 자는 올무에 걸리리니 이는 내가 모압이 벌 받을 해가 임하게 할 것임이라 여호와의 말씀이니라 He that fleeth from the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that getteth up out of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for I will bring upon it, even upon Moab, the year of their visitation, saith the LORD.
레 48:45 도망하는 자들이 기진하여 헤스본 그늘 아래에 서니 이는 불이 헤스본에서 나며 불길이 시혼 가운데 나서 모압의 살쩍과 떠드는 자들의 정수리를 사름이로다 They that fled stood under the shadow of Heshbon because of the force: but a fire shall come forth out of Heshbon, and a flame from the midst of Sihon, and shall devour the corner of Moab, and the crown of the head of the tumultuous ones.
레 48:46 모압이여 네게 화가 있도다 그모스의 백성이 망하였도다 네 아들들은 사로잡혀 갔고 네 딸들은 포로가 되었도다 Woe be unto thee, O Moab! the people of Chemosh perisheth: for thy sons are taken captives, and thy daughters captives.
레 48:47 그러나 내가 마지막 날에 모압의 포로를 돌려보내리라 여호와의 말씀이니라 모압의 심판이 여기까지니라 Yet will I bring again the captivity of Moab in the latter days, saith the LORD. Thus far is the judgment of Moab.
