Jesus gives and interprets the parable of the sower—He stills the tempest; casts out a legion of devils, who then enter the swine; heals a woman of an issue of blood; and raises Jairus’ daughter from death.

누가복음 4~8장 소개 및 연대

누가복음의 4~8장은 사탄이 광야에서 예수 그리스도를 시험하는 이야기로 시작되며, 예수께서 나사렛에서 자신이 메시야이며 도움이 필요한 사람들을 축복하러 왔다고 선포하신 이야기로 이어진다. 누가는 그다음으로 구주께서 개개인들이 악령들의 부정적인 영향, 질병, 죄와 사망을 극복하도록 도우신 연민 어린 노력에 대해 기록했다. 구주께서는 이런 기적들을 행하실 때마다 제자들에게 당신과 같이 서로를 사랑하고, 관대하게 베풀고, 자비를 보이고, 용서하라는 가르침을 주셨다.

이 장들은 예수 그리스도께서 절망한 사람들에게 사랑의 성역을 베푸신 것 외에도, 사람들이 그분에 대해 보인 다양한 반응을 보여 준다. 또한 개개인이 겸손, 신앙, 기꺼이 희생하고자 하는 마음의 정도에 따라 구주와 함께하는 그들의 경험이 어떻게 달라졌는지도 볼 수 있다.

눅 8:1

그 후에 예수께서 각 성과 마을에 두루 다니시며 하나님의 나라를 선포하시며 그 복음을 전하실새 열두 제자가 함께 하였고

And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him,

누가복음 8:1~3. 여인들이 그리스도의 시중을 들다

누가는 예수님과 함께 여행했던 여인들의 기사를 통해, 구주께서는 여인을 포함하여 모든 사람에게 관심을 보이신다는 점을 강조했다. 1세기 유대인 사회에서 여인들은 하찮은 존재로 취급당하기 일쑤였다. 구주께서 갈릴리에서 성역을 베풀며 그 지역의 “각 성과 마을”에서 가르치실 때(누가복음 8:1), 그분의 여정에 사도들이 함께했으며, 많은 여성들도 거기에 동행했다. 그중 몇몇은 여러 가지 질병에서 치유를 받았다. 다른 여자라고 언급된 사람들 중에는 사도들의 아내가 있었을 수도 있다. 몇몇 여인들은 예수께서 돌아가실 때, 그리고 그 후에도 그분을 따랐다.(누가복음 23:27; 24:10; 요한복음 20:11~18 참조) 이 여인들은 자신이 가진 재산으로 예수님과 그분의 지도자들을 도왔다. 하워드 더블유 헌터 회장은 구주께서 모든 여성을 존중하신다는 사실을 확언하며, 우리 시대에 교회의 여성들에게 형제들과 함께 힘을 합하여 주님의 일을 추진하라고 요청했다.

막달라 마리아는 부활하신 구주께서 처음으로 모습을 나타내 보이셨던 여인으로, 예수님과 동행했던 여인들 중 한 명이었다.(요한복음 20:10~18 참조) 누가는 구주께서 그녀에게서 일곱 악령을 내쫓아주셨다고 기록했다.(누가복음 8:2 참조) 막달라 마리아를 누가복음 7장 36~50절에 언급된 죄 많은 여성 또는 베다니의 마리아와 혼동해서는 안 된다.(누가복음 10:38~42; 요한복음 11:1 참조) 요한복음 20장 10~18절과 다른 경전 구절에서 시사하듯, 막달라 마리아는 왕국에서 명예로운 위치를 차지했다.

And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils,

눅 8:5

씨를 뿌리는 자가 그 씨를 뿌리러 나가서 뿌릴새 더러는 길 가에 떨어지매 밟히며 공중의 새들이 먹어버렸고

A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.

눅 8:6

더러는 바위 위에 떨어지매 싹이 났다가 습기가 없으므로 말랐고

And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture.

눅 8:7

더러는 가시떨기 속에 떨어지매 가시가 함께 자라서 기운을 막았고

And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it.

눅 8:8

더러는 좋은 땅에 떨어지매 나서 백 배의 결실을 하였느니라 이 말씀을 하시고 외치시되 들을 귀 있는 자는 들을지어다

And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

눅 8:9

제자들이 이 비유의 뜻을 물으니

And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be?

눅 8:10

이르시되 하나님 나라의 비밀을 아는 것이 너희에게는 허락되었으나 다른 사람에게는 비유로 하나니 이는 그들로 보아도 보지 못하고 들어도 깨닫지 못하게 하려 함이라

And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.

눅 8:11

이 비유는 이러하니라 씨는 하나님의 말씀이요

Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

눅 8:12

길 가에 있다는 것은 말씀을 들은 자니 이에 마귀가 가서 그들이 믿어 구원을 얻지 못하게 하려고 말씀을 그 마음에서 빼앗는 것이요

Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.

눅 8:13

바위 위에 있다는 것은 말씀을 들을 때에 기쁨으로 받으나 뿌리가 없어 잠깐 믿다가 시련을 당할 때에 배반하는 자요

They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

눅 8:14

가시떨기에 떨어졌다는 것은 말씀을 들은 자이나 지내는 중 이생의 염려와 재물과 향락에 기운이 막혀 온전히 결실하지 못하는 자요

And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.

눅 8:15

좋은 땅에 있다는 것은 착하고 좋은 마음으로 말씀을 듣고 지키어 인내로 결실하는 자니라

But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

눅 8:16

누구든지 등불을 켜서 그릇으로 덮거나 평상 아래에 두지 아니하고 등경 위에 두나니 이는 들어가는 자들로 그 빛을 보게 하려 함이라

No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light.

눅 8:17

숨은 것이 장차 드러나지 아니할 것이 없고 감추인 것이 장차 알려지고 나타나지 않을 것이 없느니라

For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.

눅 8:18

그러므로 너희가 어떻게 들을까 스스로 삼가라 누구든지 있는 자는 받겠고 없는 자는 그 있는 줄로 아는 것까지도 빼앗기리라 하시니라

Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.

눅 8:19

예수의 어머니와 그 동생들이 왔으나 무리로 인하여 가까이 하지 못하니

Then came to him his mother and his brethren, and could not come at him for the press.

눅 8:20

어떤 이가 알리되 당신의 어머니와 동생들이 당신을 보려고 밖에 서 있나이다

And it was told him by certain which said, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see thee.

눅 8:21

예수께서 대답하여 이르시되 내 어머니와 내 동생들은 곧 하나님의 말씀을 듣고 행하는 이 사람들이라 하시니라

And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.

눅 8:22

하루는 제자들과 함께 배에 오르사 그들에게 이르시되 호수 저편으로 건너가자 하시매 이에 떠나

Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth.

눅 8:23

행선할 때에 예수께서 잠이 드셨더니 마침 광풍이 호수로 내리치매 배에 물이 가득하게 되어 위태한지라

But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy.

눅 8:24

제자들이 나아와 깨워 이르되 주여 주여 우리가 죽겠나이다 한대 예수께서 잠을 깨사 바람과 물결을 꾸짖으시니 이에 그쳐 잔잔하여지더라

And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.

눅 8:25

제자들에게 이르시되 너희 믿음이 어디 있느냐 하시니 그들이 두려워하고 놀랍게 여겨 서로 말하되 그가 누구이기에 바람과 물을 명하매 순종하는가 하더라

And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.

눅 8:26

그들이 갈릴리 맞은편 거라사인의 땅에 이르러

And they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is over against Galilee.

눅 8:27

예수께서 육지에 내리시매 그 도시 사람으로서 귀신 들린 자 하나가 예수를 만나니 그 사람은 오래 옷을 입지 아니하며 집에 거하지도 아니하고 무덤 사이에 거하는 자라

And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs.

눅 8:28

예수를 보고 부르짖으며 그 앞에 엎드려 큰 소리로 불러 이르되 지극히 높으신 하나님의 아들 예수여 당신이 나와 무슨 상관이 있나이까 당신께 구하노니 나를 괴롭게 하지 마옵소서 하니

When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not.

눅 8:29

이는 예수께서 이미 더러운 귀신을 명하사 그 사람에게서 나오라 하셨음이라 (귀신이 가끔 그 사람을 붙잡으므로 그를 쇠사슬과 고랑에 매어 지켰으되 그 맨 것을 끊고 귀신에게 몰려 광야로 나갔더라)

(For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught him: and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; and he brake the bands, and was driven of the devil into the wilderness.)

눅 8:30

예수께서 네 이름이 무엇이냐 물으신즉 이르되 군대라 하니 이는 많은 귀신이 들렸음이라

And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him.

눅 8:31

무저갱으로 들어가라 하지 마시기를 간구하더니

And they besought him that he would not command them to go out into the deep.

눅 8:32

마침 그 곳에 많은 돼지 떼가 산에서 먹고 있는지라 귀신들이 그 돼지에게로 들어가게 허락하심을 간구하니 이에 허락하시니

And there was there an herd of many swine feeding on the mountain: and they besought him that he would suffer them to enter into them. And he suffered them.

눅 8:33

귀신들이 그 사람에게서 나와 돼지에게로 들어가니 그 떼가 비탈로 내리달아 호수에 들어가 몰사하거늘

Then went the devils out of the man, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were choked.

눅 8:34

치던 자들이 그 이루어진 일을 보고 도망하여 성내와 마을에 알리니

When they that fed them saw what was done, they fled, and went and told it in the city and in the country.

눅 8:35

사람들이 그 이루어진 일을 보러 나와서 예수께 이르러 귀신 나간 사람이 옷을 입고 정신이 온전하여 예수의 발치에 앉아 있는 것을 보고 두려워하거늘

Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

눅 8:36

귀신 들렸던 자가 어떻게 구원 받았는지를 본 자들이 그들에게 이르매

They also which saw it told them by what means he that was possessed of the devils was healed.

눅 8:37

거라사인의 땅 근방 모든 백성이 크게 두려워하여 예수께 떠나가시기를 구하더라 예수께서 배에 올라 돌아가실새

Then the whole multitude of the country of the Gadarenes round about besought him to depart from them; for they were taken with great fear: and he went up into the ship, and returned back again.

눅 8:38

귀신 나간 사람이 함께 있기를 구하였으나 예수께서 그를 보내시며 이르시되

Now the man out of whom the devils were departed besought him that he might be with him: but Jesus sent him away, saying,

눅 8:39

집으로 돌아가 하나님이 네게 어떻게 큰 일을 행하셨는지를 말하라 하시니 그가 가서 예수께서 자기에게 어떻게 큰 일을 행하셨는지를 온 성내에 전파하니라

Return to thine own house, and shew how great things God hath done unto thee. And he went his way, and published throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him.

눅 8:40

예수께서 돌아오시매 무리가 환영하니 이는 다 기다렸음이러라

And it came to pass, that, when Jesus was returned, the people gladly received him: for they were all waiting for him.

눅 8:41

이에 회당장인 야이로라 하는 사람이 와서 예수의 발 아래에 엎드려 자기 집에 오시기를 간구하니

And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at Jesus’ feet, and besought him that he would come into his house:

눅 8:42

이는 자기에게 열두 살 된 외딸이 있어 죽어감이러라 예수께서 가실 때에 무리가 밀려들더라

For he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay a dying. But as he went the people thronged him.

눅 8:43

이에 열두 해를 혈루증으로 앓는 중에 아무에게도 고침을 받지 못하던 여자가

And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,

눅 8:44

예수의 뒤로 와서 그의 옷 가에 손을 대니 혈루증이 즉시 그쳤더라

Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.

눅 8:45

예수께서 이르시되 내게 손을 댄 자가 누구냐 하시니 다 아니라 할 때에 베드로가 이르되 주여 무리가 밀려들어 미나이다

And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?

눅 8:46

예수께서 이르시되 내게 손을 댄 자가 있도다 이는 내게서 능력이 나간 줄 앎이로다 하신대

And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.

눅 8:47

여자가 스스로 숨기지 못할 줄 알고 떨며 나아와 엎드리어 그 손 댄 이유와 곧 나은 것을 모든 사람 앞에서 말하니

And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately.

눅 8:48

예수께서 이르시되 딸아 네 믿음이 너를 구원하였으니 평안히 가라 하시더라

And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.

눅 8:49

아직 말씀하실 때에 회당장의 집에서 사람이 와서 말하되 당신의 딸이 죽었나이다 선생님을 더 괴롭게 하지 마소서 하거늘

While he yet spake, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue’s house, saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master.

눅 8:50

예수께서 들으시고 이르시되 두려워하지 말고 믿기만 하라 그리하면 딸이 구원을 얻으리라 하시고

But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.

눅 8:51

그 집에 이르러 베드로와 요한과 야고보와 아이의 부모 외에는 함께 들어가기를 허락하지 아니하시니라

And when he came into the house, he suffered no man to go in, save Peter, and James, and John, and the father and the mother of the maiden.

눅 8:52

모든 사람이 아이를 위하여 울며 통곡하매 예수께서 이르시되 울지 말라 죽은 것이 아니라 잔다 하시니

And all wept, and bewailed her: but he said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth.

눅 8:53

그들이 그 죽은 것을 아는 고로 비웃더라

And they laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead.

눅 8:54

예수께서 아이의 손을 잡고 불러 이르시되 아이야 일어나라 하시니

And he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, Maid, arise.

눅 8:55

그 영이 돌아와 아이가 곧 일어나거늘 예수께서 먹을 것을 주라 명하시니

And her spirit came again, and she arose straightway: and he commanded to give her meat.

눅 8:56

그 부모가 놀라는지라 예수께서 경고하사 이 일을 아무에게도 말하지 말라 하시니라

And her parents were astonished: but he charged them that they should tell no man what was done.
