소개 1832년 12월 6일 오하이오 주 커틀랜드에서 선지자 조셉 스미스를 통하여 주신 계시(교회사 1:300). 이 계시는 선지자가 성경 번역 원고를 검토하고 편집하는 동안에 받은 것이다.

 

 Revelation given through Joseph Smith the Prophet, at Kirtland, Ohio, December 6, 1832. HC 1: 300. This revelation was received while the Prophet was reviewing and editing the manuscript of the translation of the Bible.  1832년 12월 6일 오하이오주 커틀랜드에서 예언자 요셉 스미스를 통하여 주신 계시.-밀과 가라지에 관한 주의 비유의 해석.-말세에 있어서 그 비유의 적용.
소개 1~7, 주께서 밀과 가라지의 비유의 의미를 알려 주심. 8~11, 주께서 육체를 따라 합법적인 상속자가 된 자들에게 주시는 신권 축복을 설명해 주심.

 

 1—7, The Lord gives the meaning of the parable of the wheat and tares; 8—11, Priesthood blessings to those who are lawful heirs according to the flesh.  
교성 86:1 진실로 주가 너희 나의 종들에게 밀과 가라지의 비유에 관하여 이같이 이르노라.

 

 VERILY, thus saith the Lord unto you my servants, concerning the parable of the wheat and of the tares: 86:1.진실로 주께서 밀과 가라지의 비유에 관하여 너희 나의 종들에게 이같이 이르노라. 
교성 86:2 보라, 진실로 내가 이르노니, 밭은 세상이요, 사도들은 씨를 뿌리는 자였느니라.

 

 Behold, verily I say, the field was the world, and the apostles were the sowers of the seed; 86:2.보라, 진실로 내가 이르노니, 밭은 세상이요, 사도는 씨뿌리는 자였도다. 
교성 86:3 그리고 그들이 잠든 후에 교회를 크게 박해하는 자, 배도자, 창녀, 곧 모든 국민으로 하여금 그 잔을 마시게 하며, 그 마음속에 원수 곧 사탄이 앉아 다스리는 바벨론이 - 보라, 그가 가라지를 뿌리느니라. 그런즉 가라지가 밀을 억누르며, 교회를 광야로 내모느니라.

 

 And after they have fallen asleep the great persecutor of the church, the apostate, the whore, even Babylon, that maketh all nations to drink of her cup, in whose hearts the enemy, even Satan, sitteth to reign—behold he soweth the tares; wherefore, the tares choke the wheat and drive the church into the wilderness. 86:3.씨뿌리는 자들이 잠든 후에 교회를 크게 핍박하는 자, 배교자,창녀 곧 모든 국민에게 그 잔을 마시게 하며 그 마음 속에는 원수 사탄이 들어 앉아 있는 바빌론이 지배하나니, 보라, 이 자가 가라지를 뿌리느니라. 그런고로 가라지는 밀을 억누르며 교회를 광야로 내 모느니라. 
교성 86:4 그러나 보라, 마지막 날에 곧 지금 바야흐로 주가 말씀을 보내기 시작하고 있고 잎이 돋아나고 있으며 아직 부드러운데 -

 

 But behold, in the last days, even now while the Lord is beginning to bring forth the word, and the blade is springing up and is yet tender— 86:4.그러나, 보라, 마지막 날 곧 지금 주께서 바야흐로 말씀을 세상에 보내려 하시는 차제에 싹이 나서 아직 부드러운 이때에, 
교성 86:5 보라, 진실로 내가 너희에게 이르노니, 준비를 마치고 밭을 추수하도록 보내주실 것을 기다리고 있는 천사들은 밤낮으로 주께 부르짖고 있느니라.

 

 Behold, verily I say unto you, the angels are crying unto the Lord day and night, who are ready and waiting to be sent forth to reap down the fields; 86:5.보라, 진실로 내가 너희에게 이르노니, 천사들은 밭에가서 거두어 들일 준비가 되어 있어 보내주기를 밤낮으로 부르짖으며 기다리고 있느니라. 
교성 86:6 그러나 주께서 그들에게 이르시되, 잎이 아직 부드러울 때에(이는 진실로 너희 신앙이 약함이라), 가라지를 뽑지 말라. 너희가 밀도 또한 상하게 할까 하노라.

 

 But the Lord saith unto them, pluck not up the tares while the blade is yet tender (for verily your faith is weak), lest you destroy the wheat also. 86:6.그러나 주께서 저들에게 이르시기를 아직 잎이 부드러우니 (진실로 너희 신앙이 미약함이니)가라지를 뽑아내지 말라. 너희가 밀까지도 상할까 하노라. 
교성 86:7 그러므로 추수할 때가 완전히 무르익기까지 밀과 가라지가 함께 자라게 하라. 그러고 나서 너희는 먼저 가라지 가운데서 밀을 모아 내고, 밀을 모은 후에, 보라, 또 바라보라, 가라지는 다발로 묶이며, 밭은 장차 불사름을 입게 되느니라.

 

 Therefore, let the wheat and the tares grow together until the harvest is fully ripe; then ye shall first gather out the wheat from among the tares, and after the gathering of the wheat, behold and lo, the tares are bound in bundles, and the field remaineth to be burned. 86:7.그러므로 밀과 가라지가 완전히 익어 추수할때가 되기 까지 함께 자라게 하라. 그 때에 너희가 가라지 가운데서 밀을 먼저 골라 거두어 들이고 밀을 거둔 다음에 가라지는 다발로 묶으며 밭은 불살라 버리리라. 
교성 86:8 그러므로 이같이 주가 너희에게 이르노니, 신권은 너희 조상들의 혈통을 통하여 너희와 함께 계속되어 왔나니 -

 

 Therefore, thus saith the Lord unto you, with whom the priesthood hath continued through the lineage of your fathers— 86:8.그러므로 주께서 너희 곧 조상의 혈통을 따라 대대로 이어 내려온 신권을 지닌 너희에게 이같이 이르노라. 
교성 86:9 이는 너희가 육체를 따라서 합법적인 상속자요, 하나님 안에 그리스도와 함께 세상에서 감추어져 왔음이라 -

 

 For ye are lawful heirs, according to the flesh, and have been hid from the world with Christ in God— 86:9.너희는 육체로는 정당한 상속자요, 하나님 안에 계시는 그리스도와 함께 세상에서 감추인 자임이니라. 
교성 86:10 그러므로 너희 생명과 신권은 존속되었고 또 세상이 시작된 이래로 모든 거룩한 선지자의 입으로 말한 바 만물이 회복될 때까지 너희와 너희 혈통을 통하여 반드시 존속되어야만 하느니라.

 

 Therefore your life and the priesthood have remained, and must needs remain through you and your lineage until the restoration of all things spoken by the mouths of all the holy prophets since the world began. 86:10.그러므로 너희 생명과 신권은 지금까지 보존되어 왔고 또 세상이 시작된 이래로 지금까지 거룩한 모든 예언자의 입으로 이야기 된 바 만물이 회복될 때까지 너희와 너희 혈통을 통하여 반드시 보존되어야만 하느니라. 
교성 86:11 그러므로 만일 너희가 나의 선함에 거하여 이방인을 위한 빛이 되고 이 신권을 통하여 나의 백성 이스라엘을 위한 구원자가 되면, 너희에게 복이 있도다. 주가 이를 말하였느니라. 아멘.

 

 Therefore, blessed are ye if ye continue in my goodness, a light unto the Gentiles, and through this priesthood, a savior unto my people Israel. The Lord hath said it. Amen. 86:11.그러므로 너희가 끊임없이 나의 선을 행하며 이방인의 빛이 되며 이 신권을 통하여 나의 백성 이스라엘을 구원하는 자가 되면 너희에게 복이 있도다. 주께서 말씀하시느니라. 아멘.
